"Lou Barlow said this is his favorite synth in a documentary. Also favorites for bands like Soft Cell and Cars, etc. Korg's Synthe-Bass (model SB 100) is a small 2-octave monophonic bass synth that had a very fat sound. It has one oscillator, an AD Envelope and a low-pass filter. Small and portable, it came in a brief-case design. Unlike many portable synths of the time, it featured full size keys... this Korg Synthe-Bass was just serviced by Mtroniks in Mesa."

Vintage Korg Synthe Bass

Roland CR-68 Classic Analog Drum Machine with Mods
"This is the baby brother to the CR-78- essentially same sounds and rhythms, but no programmable beats... The "cool mods" are separate outputs for the Bass Drum, Snare and HiHat sounds (see the rear pics) The sound of these individual outputs is still affected by the 'Balance' control (basically the HiHat gets louder or softer)
The main outputs work normally. the 3 additional 1/4 in jacks to the left of the 3 individual outs don't appear to be hooked to anything"
Roland CR-78 CompuRhythm
"Roland CR-78 Analog Drum Machine (actually they called it a Rhythm machine or CompuRhythm) Programmable!" If you're a songwriter, just hit a preset and it just "fits' what you're playing. It's not "rigid", like a lot of electronic drums. It's not an accident it was used on all those hits. PLUS this thing sounds incredible with real drums playing along. (Everyone knows the Phil Collins part on "in the Air Tonight" where the Cr-78 gives way to that great live drum fill-kinda makes them explode) You can program it, but incredibly A LOT of artists just used the presets!

Roland SVC-350 Vocorder
"You are bidding on a vintage Roland SVC-350 Vocoder and it is the first truly sophisticated Vocoder to be priced within range of most musicians. The primary function of the Roland Vocoder is to analyze the spoken or sung human voice and use this information (or program) to trigger another musical signal (or carrier) giving the instrument the ability to 'speak.' This vocal synthesis is accomplished by processing the voice through a series of eleven Voice Character analysis filters. All of the filters within the Voice Character control are active and control an envelope follower which reacts according to the volume of that individual frequency. This information is then used to shape those frequencies of the carrier (musical instrument) signal.
Microphone Input (program): 1/4 phone jack or XLR connector 600 ohm -54 dBm min.
Instrument Input (carrier): 1/4 phone jack 100 k ohm guitar raw level
Guitar Amp Output: 1/4 phone jack 5 k ohm
Mono/Stereo Output: 1/4 phone jacks
Dimensions: 19(W)x 3.6(H) x 9.7(D) in."

I am using a new strings patch for D-50. I use the JV-880 sax lead sound again as well.
Keep in mind, this isn't a completed song, its just ideas for now.

"Synthesis of complex stereo waveforms with CPLD programmable logic core. (Lattice ispLSI1032E).
If you are comfortable designing DIY digital circuitry with 7400 / CD4k chips, look into CPLDs, they are amazing. Inside a CPLD is a collection of primitive logic elements equivalent to hundreds of 7400/CD4k chips, and through the magic of logic synthesis, these elements are configured by software to realize your circuit. Its like a dream where the chips jump up and plug themselves into your breadboard, and wires magically appear to fulfill the schematics you draw on the screen. Plus they are erasable/reconfigurable indefinitely. It is a very futuristic feeling to use this technology.
I used Lattice's free software environment ispLEVER Classic 1.4 and the ispDOWNLOAD USB JTAG programmer (~$80) to configure these devices.
This is a nice way to familiarize oneself with the toolchain. Once a few more concepts are in place, the power of FPGAs will be accessible."

"All that money spent to sound like crap...
The Flight of Harmony Plague Bearer is an amazing, very economic device for ripping sound apart. The Geiger Counter is back in my setup as well.
261e generates the main signal that is torn apart and mixed back in. Frequency shifting and balanced modulator are also used. 250e sequences. Most of the cables aren't doing anything, the patch is pretty simple actually."

VINTAGE MOOG SATELLITE
"THE MOOG SATELLITE IS THE SUCCESSOR OF THE RARE "MINITMOOG". IT IS BUILT AROUND A SOLID WOOD FRAME AND LOOKS GREAT. IT IS A MONOPHONIC SYNTHESIZER WITH PRESETS, WHICH CAN BE CHANGED (FILTER, MODULATION, LFO, ENVELOPE). THE FILTER SOUNDS GREAT AND HAS CHARACHTER. THE MEATY ANALOGE SOUNDS REALLY COME TO LIFE WHEN USING IT WITH DELAY, PHASER, FLANGER, ETC......."
ARP 2600 Vintage Analog Synthesizer Tonus Logo
via this auction
via the seller:
"You may have noticed several 2600s have sold here on eBay recently. Some refurbished, some not. Now if you look at the pictures, you will see that they have the common ARP "G clef" logo. This tells us that these are the later edition synths. Many more of these were made than the rare earlier TONUS ARPs.
The TONUS logo on the electronics and keyboard units not only tell us that this instrument is one of the earliest made but as a result is made as the ARP engineers originally designed it. The great sound and feel of these ARP 2600 TONUS synthesizers attest to this. From what I have seen, the last TONUS ARP 2600 to be offered on eBay, was a very rare Grey Meanie.
Some things you get with the TONUS ARP 2600 are the "coveted" sweet sounding 4012 "Moog" style filter, the accurate and stable 4027-1 oscillators, the original Hammond long pan reverb unit, a truly amazing versatile musical instrument that you will enjoy programming and playing and the envy of all your friends."

The microDrum

"MicroDRUM is the most economical and simple to build MIDI drum trigger. It’s based on Arduino and can be used with a huge variety of e-pads / e-cymbals, up to 48 inputs! The output can be sent to a PC and converted to drum sounds through VST like BFD, Addictive Drums and Superior Drummer, etc. … The accompanying software allows features not found in any similar solution: a direct interface with VST (without USB-MIDI cable), record, playback of tablature to practice on, etc. … This is a Open Hardware product made in Italy!"

Vintage Yamaha EM-90A Amplifier Mixer with Built in Rhythm Machine
"Yamaha 70 watt amplifier/mixer, model number EM-90A. It is in very good condition with no major damage, though there are light signs of wear, like light scratches, scuffing and sticker residue. The manual is also included, but is meant for the EM-80, EM-100 and EM-150."
Update via unknown in the comments: "These are actually 15watts per channel. Not very loud or clean, but they do have a bit of character."

Alternate 4ms RCD/SCM/Breakout Panels in Acrylic

"I thought the modular synth-lovers out there would be interested to know what I've been working on (Read all about it or just scroll down to see lots of high-res pictures.)
They're alternate panels for 4mspedals' Rotating Clock Divider, RCD Breakout, and Shuffling Clock Multiplier, made from black and purple 3.0mm acrylic. If there is enough interest, I will be selling them, but these are currently just prototypes.
