KORG Rare ROM Card for 707 FM Keyboard, PSU-200 ROM Card, "Synthesizer Programs"

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"This is a Korg ROM card, "Synthesizer Programs" for use with the "CARD" bank, on the FM synth keyboard, the 707. It is in very good + condition, and works for the FM keyboard that's the little brother to the DS-8 FM Synth, the 707 Performance Synthesizer. This listing is for the Korg card itself, it's small booklet with the lists of sounds, a nice Korg jewel case insert (with no writing on it) and an excellent condition jewel case for all of these, for storage and protection.

The card can be accessed right from your front panel, with no need to load them into memory, thereby allowing you to keep whichever sounds you like in the internal RAM memory, AND this excellent ROM card in the card slot. You can also split and layer them with the internal sounds, make new combinations, etc.

With 200 sounds, this card will really expand the range of your 707 performance FM synthesizer!"

KORG DS-8 Digital Synthesizer 1987 | HD DEMO

Published on Jul 23, 2013 AnalogAudio1·114 videos

"(c) 2013 by AnalogAudio1

I played the Korg DS-8 without any additional effects or eq. All you hear is coming straight out of the Korg DS-8.

The Korg DS-8 employs 4 operator FM synthesis from Yamaha - but on the DS-8 you have sliders to tweak a sounds a bit. Also you have to deal with terminology from analog instruments, not with "operators". It also has an useful effect processor with great delay and modulation effects. The little brother of the DS-8, the Korg 707 does not have this effect processor, which is a big minus.

In the video I show you the kind of sounds, which are the best on the Korg DS-8 in my opinion - mostly beautiful, relaxing pads. A lot of other sounds are also possible, but many of them are quite ugly, so I let them out.... :-)"

Islands in the ocean

Published on Apr 7, 2013 skoulaman .·56 videos

"Yesterday was E-day, always inspiring, you met people who are also involved in E-music.
This little idea came up, just a combinated single 8 step and 4 step row off the Doepfer Dark Time. The 4 step row controls the Moog LP bass and the 8 step the Waldorf micro Q and at 2:36 the Roland Juno 106. Additional sounds came from the Korg DS 8/Lamda and the Kawai K1r. For the Moog I used two delay's from the Yamaha E1005 and the Ibanez DM1000 for Waldorf the Alesis Midiverb 3 triplets and also the Ibanez DM1000.
Halfway there are some variations in tone / octave settings (Berlin School style).

I hope your enjoy, and feel free to leave a comment/question

Use a good audio device to listen to it.

greetings Hans

Let me know what you think."

Without bounderies

Published on Oct 21, 2012 by skoulaman

"Still a week to go for my concert with AKS. I found this beauty setting of the Waldorf Q. Its a nice sample of a full resonant opened filter'(notch). It is controlled by the Moog Little Phatty and the funny thing is that although the Moog isn't velocity sensitive the keys are and it works perfect for other velocity sensitive MIDI instruments. Its sends also polyfonic. I tweaked some Juno 106 noise together with the Moog sequence.
The solo pieces are from the Concertmate MG-1 and the DS8. The pads came from my favorit DS-8 and a low string sound from the Korg 05r/w. In opposite is the string and e-piano sound from the Lamda. All processed with Lexicon, Yamaha, Ibanez, Alesis and Electric effects. It is best listened with good audio gear then you here the rich harmonics of the Waldorf, I filmed and recorded everything live without overdubs (I mostly don't use that).

Thx listening

Let the Moog bass run 2

Published on Sep 30, 2012 by skoulaman

"A month before my life concert with AKS this track, It's full of energy and based again on a simple bass sequence by the Moog Little Phatty 2 which I couldn't resist to create a song with it. Just so simple, a Moog bass sequence with some Waldorf Q and Roland Juno 106 sound, a nice Korg 05r/w accord and solo's from the DS-8, but special the solo at 1:34, the Realistic Concertmate MG-1. Enjoy the uptempo (178 bpm) music with a good audio device.
The video is a compilation of different "road" vids in some parts of Europe.

Enjoy the music

Why are the roads so empty

YouTube Uploaded by skoulaman on Dec 30, 2011

"A few days ago I made this 12 note based sequence track with the Doepfer Dark Time.
I used a 3 oscillator tone of the Waldorf Micro Q (two triangles and one sinus) in a very basic setting (and I think that is the power of a Waldorf because you can do very well basic synth tones as complicated pads for example) and a base tone of the Moog LP. During the track the sounds are tweaked. The solo came from the Korg DS-8, it is a preset with a long echo and with a pitch change in the end of the envelope. It is not one of my best tracks but just a tweak with my setup. Neverthelss enjoy listening.
The vid is made during my trip to my work (yes, on a very quit chrismas holiday day) on a highway round Amsterdam at 06:30 in the morning.

707 DS8 FM Synth ROM PSU-101 ROM Card Factory Programs

via this auction

"Rare Card for 707 DS8 FM Synth ROM PSU-101 ROM Card Factory Programs

This is a Korg ROM card, for use with the "CARD" bank, on the Korg FM synthesizer, the 707. It is in very good condition, and works for the FM keyboard that's the little brother to the DS-8, the 707 Performance Synthesizer. These are the original Factory set of sounds loaded into the 707 from Korg. These are probably long since lost for many people, since this is a late 80's synthesizer, so with this they are easily found again!

The card can be accessed right from your front panel, with no need to load them into memory, thereby allowing you to keep whichever sounds you like in the internal RAM memory, AND this excellent ROM card in the card slot. You can also split and layer them with the internal sounds, make new conbimations, etc. The card will come with it's original sound list as well."

Deeper [Korg DS-10 track, live, work in progress]

YouTube Uploaded by DifficultListening on Sep 8, 2011
http://www.youtube.com/user/DifficultListening
"test run through a track that needs some live performance. Think this one ended up too "twiddly"."

Additional info:
"A live performance, with much Kaoss Pad twiddling, of a groove-driven Korg DS-10 track that has been a while in the making. The track is performed on the DS-10+ cart, but it don't use any of the extra features of the newer cart. No outboard effects or plugins were used, just the inbuilt effects and (automatic) compression in the DS-10.

The DS-10 is capable of much more than the bleepy chiptune vibe that is suggested by its humble hardware. The drum voices use their individual effects settings for lo-fi waveguide synthesis to get metallic timbres for the snare and high-hat, or to make evolving textured drones and vocalish sounds with drum voice 4 at various pitches. The synth voices use old-school analogue modular patches with plenty of modulation. I think that it makes a pretty good demo of what you can push the DS-10 into doing, albeit at the hands of a non-musician. :-)

Video is to show Kaoss Pad noodling, Soundcloud is higher quality and gives a download for the original track in lossless FLAC."

Deeper (first try) by Difficult Listening
"'Naked' Korg DS-10 track with lots of live performance in it.I'm pretty happy with some of the patterns and sounds, less sure about the performance.

No other synths or effects used in this - recorded into the mic input of a Lexicon Lambda using Reaper, trimmed and uploaded as FLAC.

Original is free to download, creative commons licenses apply."

Synthrotek PT2399 Lofi Delay

via this auction

"What started out as a lo-fi analog delay project has turned into quite a very nice clean delay! Works great with any instrument. This case design is intended for synth users, but will work with a guitar, or really anything. Based upon the PT2399 IC, but filtered nicely with our own personal flavor to produce a clean sound."
