The Malekko Varigate 8+ is controlling:
eurorack drums - Triggers
TB 303 - CV & Gate
MFB dominion 1 - CV & Gate
Juno 60 - Gate triggering the arpeggiator with some skipped steps to give it some groove.

Notes:
The MFB Dominion 1 is used for a percussive sound with self oscillation pitch control using both CV varigate and manual cutoff knob.

Anyone confirm this is essentially a desktop version of the Dominion 1? The 1 came after the X. According to MFB, the Dominion Club is the desktop version of the 1.

Hawkeye - Going Up (MFB Dominion 1, Kurzweil K2000, Virus C Vocoder)

"Dawless vocoding! :-)

We experienced an incredible evolution of speech synthesis over the last decades - the voice used in this track was artificially generated by an online text to speech tool, sampled by the E-MU E6400 Ultra and was then transformed by the vocoder of the Access Virus C. You can hear the original synthesized voice at the end of the track.

Big thanks to my YouTube friend "oscillator", who sent me his great Kurzweil K2000 patches, the patch starting at 03:05 is pure Kurzweil bliss from his patch bank! He also helped me to upgrade my old K2000 to modern standards. It is a fantastic synth!

All was sequenced live using the fantastic MIDIbox Sequencer (v4), the synth outputs went directly into a 16-channel Mackie 1604 for analog mixing - the master output of the mixer was captured using a Tascam DR-100 wave recoder - no DAW was abused during recording, only slight audio compression was added during video editing.

This tune has been steadily making its way through the intergalactic charts and has hit number one in the stoner drone chart on Mask-Bazoo.
Zoopa from the Supernova times has described it as "A catchy fun tune although a bit short, leaving a taste for more" but then he is known to play Grizmos's 20hr silence piece to kick off a party.
Anyways I have decided to share it with my fellow humans, so hope you enjoy it.

A live recording of a Drone using my lovely analog MFB Dominion 1 synth. The Drone gradually breaks up into pitched harmonics that are produced by a sample and hold LFO, feeding into the filter cutoff and finally, a delay to lift the drone into the stratosphere and beyond.
So relax, have something to get you into the correct state of mind (optional) and play through good speakers or headphones (a must).
Part of my serendipitous journey through the analog and digital domain.

"This is more or less the MFB DOMINION 1 without keyboard, arpeggiator and ribbons. Analog synth triggered with ARTURIA KEYSTEP Sequencer via Midi.

The filter mostly engaged in theis session is the LP number 3 which is a 12 dB VCF with excellent character!
The session is rounded up by the stunning professional EVENTIDE ECLIPSE multi FX processor. The MFB is routed directly through the Eventide FX and then into the soundcard.

It is the original Mk. 1 DOMINION X without the SED modification!"

"My first Video of a simple sunday evening patch I played and recorded for myself. I use this for the documentation of my modular patch experiments.

The Drone: Is a Braids with the VOWL model, going thru the RT451 stereo multimode filter, one with HP the other with LP. They go to two channels of the 4ms VCA Matrix. The VCA Matrix is triggered from the Vermona Fourmulator, each LFO 90° shifted, so I get a quadrophonic effect in my studio with 4 speakers around my head.

Kickdrum: I used the Synthrotek ds-m, a wasp from doepfer, a channel from the HexVCA and a envelope from Intellijel. Triggered directly from the ALM Pamela's Workout.

The rhythmic plingplong: Is coming from the OSC-03 form MFB, triggered by the doepfer sequencer, the trigger is multiplied according to the voltage delivered to the A160-5 ratcheting controller.

The snare: Is a noise, going only thru the doepfer VCA in exponentional mode, controlled by an envelope, and then thru a Roland Demora stereo delay.

MFB Dominion 1 | Straight to the top as a favorite bass synthesizer of all time

"The MFB Dominion 1 does one thing very well. Just like the MiniMoog. When you layer bass you often find you need something to fill out the energy spectrum in the lower mids. Lot's of bass sounds has the bottom end, or the highs, but they don't cut through the track.
Just as the MiniMoog before it, The Dominion 1 can fix that very well. It just have the reight energy in the frequencies that needs to be there for bass. If you program it right.
All by itself it also has a lot to offer with its 3 available oscillators. Which can be used to make the Dom 1 paraphonic as well.
In total I find the Dom 1 more suitable for my bass needs than the MiniMoog.

"Gear used in this demo: Audient ASP880, Roland JX-3P, MFB Dominion 1 and the Isla S2400.
When recording the separate outputs of my drum machines I find the Audient preamps to be crisp, transparent and very usable.

With the ASP880 you have 8-channels, insert/return points at the back, ADAT out and lots of gain. Very uncomplicated to setup and integrate into your setup. It just works and sounds great."

"MFB DOMINION X-SED analog mono synth in perfect working order.
There are a few marks and scuffs on the wooden ends and sides but no dents or anything that effects the workings.

These are no longer in production and have become very sought after.

Incredible deep bass and massive lead lines + much more via its large amount of tweakable modulation routings .
CV or midi controllable plus ability to intergrate into your modular set up if you have one.

Ive just had this fully serviced by Manfred @ MFB.
