Dave Smith Instruments In The Spotlight With the Prophet-6 and Noir Et Blanc Vie (Stephen Fitzgerald)

You can find the full interview on DSI's website here.

"Noir Et Blanc Vie (Stephen Fitzgerald) is a Keyboardist, Producer and Videographer from Los Angeles California. Not only accomplished in the world of music, but video as well, he runs the successful channel of the same name. He produced his first record for the band Orangeburg Masscre at just 18 years old. After attending Berklee College of Music, he moved from Boston to Los Angeles to assist at the legendary Track Record studios in North Hollywood — working with artists such as RZA and David Banner, and contributing for songs for Allen Stone. He toured with his own group, Godsons, and most recently produced tracks on The Self Help Book from the artist Kwesy Mojo. He has also created content for Synth with Pedalboards and The Beginners Guide to Eurorack. Noir Et Blanc Vie is a passionate keyboardist who believes it’s never too late to find a love for learning music. We chatted with him about how he’s using the Prophet-6 and Tempest."

Noir Et Blanc Vie: Top 3 synths I REGRET not buying

Published on Jul 10, 2018 Noir Et Blanc Vie

"I think we all know this feeling, when we wanted to buy a synth and the price was right, but we passed it up. Now all we do is look back and think, if only we had got it right then. Now we live with synth regret, realizing that even though we could have the cost is just too much. Tell me in the comments the synths you passed up on and what you want, but may never own!"

What are you regrets?

A few I regret not picking up which were actually for sale were Delia Derbyshire's VCS3 Putney and a Synton Syrinx both being sold by Spectrum's Sonic Boom, the Jomox Sunsyn, LL Electronic Rozzbox, and an army green Waldorf Microwave 1. I regret them because they were actually attainable considering what they were. On the not so affordable list there were a few ARP 2500s, Emu Modulars, EMS SYNTHI 100, Buchla gear, EMS SYNTHIs, and Waldorf Waves I've spotted for sale over the years. And The Schmidt, let's not forget The Schmidt. I'm sure there were others...

I do have an OB-6 (desktop), and an XTk on Noir Et Blanc Vie's list and love them both. Never picked up an Easel though.

How you setup your Eurorack is entirely up to you, but before you do let's run through some quick module installation and making a basic patch!! Noir Et Blanc Vie: Modular Minutes with 4MS

Published on Sep 25, 2018 Noir Et Blanc Vie

"Three really great modules from 4ms, who I might as well admit always have some of the best Eurorack designs around. This is more or less a mini-series of sorts. The Shuffling clock multiplier, Stereo Triggered Sampler and Tapographic Delay, might as well watch them all since there won’t be another video till October 30th BWAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHAH!

Full Transparency 4ms sent me these modules many months ago and did not ask me to review them. I asked them for these to help with the Eurorack for Beginners series, but they were not able to provide them at that time so unfortunately these Modular Minutes are coming quite later than I’d have liked. They allowed me full creative control which I made sure I got hence, there is a contract stating that I can say whatever I want. I want to make sure everyone knows this as transparency and honestly is my goal."

Great Synth Mysteries Ep. 6: There will NEVER be another Access Virus

video upload by Noir Et Blanc Vie

"This is a love story about a synthesizer unlike many others, in my opinion a synth the came out so long ago still eclipses many releases of today. Great Synth Mystery, mmm, maybe... but I wanted to make a compelling piece about such a wonderful instrument. As a musician and not a reviewer or journalist I think this really speaks to how ahead of it's time the Access Virus Ti was."

Noir Et Blanc Vie: Sorry Arturia Micro Freak - A NON-Review lol

Published on Feb 19, 2019 Noir Et Blanc Vie

"*Keep in mind what the word 'Subjection Opinion' means while watching this video, this will help triggered folk cope with what I'm about to say haha*

Since you all know companies don't run this channel, I do, which is why I say what I like. I know this video will be unpopular to the fanboys, but I could care less as I was actually looking forward to the MicroFreak, unfortunately I'm a little disappointed synths seem to be moving away from players who need the tactile traditional keybed for performances. Anyways, here are my thoughts, those who can't understand the meaning of the word subjective will dislike this video and comment I'm dumb, but that's what's fun about all this hahaahah"

"Watch as musician and YouTube personality Noir et Blanc Vie demonstrates the small yet mighty UNO Synth ultra-portable analog synthesizer.

UNO Synth is the ultimate portable, monophonic, true analog synthesizer and IK Multimedia’s entry in the hardware synthesizer world.

We combined our two decades of experience in software and hardware development with the expertise of Italian boutique synth-maker Soundmachines and IK’s synth guru, Erik Norlander (one of the brains behind acclaimed synths like the Alesis Andromeda). The result is a no-compromise instrument with massive analog sound that’s also easy to use with hands-on programmability and advanced features at an unbeatable price."

In the beginning there were synth pics followed by the videos. For all posts mentioning "Jexus" click here. He had and continues to have quite an influence on others in the synth community.
