#Synthuary2020 / #Jamuary2020 - 06

#Jamuary2020 Day 6: Shine on crazy Diamond (free interpretation with MicroFreak)

Published on Jan 5, 2020 VolcaNiced

See the Synthuary label for more. Synthuary because these are the Jamuary synth videos. More below.

"I love this Song.

I remember myself walking thru a park in my hometown Frankfurt years ago and found some Vinyl Records in a bush. One of this vinyls was "Animals" in Pink and "Wish you where here". I was 19 and had no clue what the hack Pink Floyd is. So I put the record on the player and then I was .... infected. Man, that moment first time hearing their music wihtout knowing who they are was unbelievable.

So in tribut to that great moment I am playing some leads from this great Song "Shine on crazy Diamond". Thanks @Waveformer for your influence on this with his video here: https://youtu.be/1OAETuz_8uM

Unfortunately I didnt own the Monologue so I had to build this Lead patch with the Microfreak. This took me about 2 hrs to get this. And it is still not perfect.

The backround sound comes from the Ipad and the App #DigitalD1 from @AudioKit. One of the best apps I own on the Ipad by the way. I build this sound with the PCM Moduls "Epic Pad" and "Glory Organ" and a little bit of tuning.

Enjoy the short trip into the 70th and dont be to sensitive with the mistakes I did. It's #Jamuary2020. Let's do music."

BD9Q9 Kick with a TR-505 & Realistic Reverb + Delay Feedback

NoizeHack

"I borrowed a BD9Q9 kick which is a TR-909 kick clone with some extra knobs and built in distortion. I picked up a used TR-505 for cheap and used it for the clap, hats and percussion. There is a Realistic "Reverb" in one mixer feedback loop and a Memory Boy delay in the other creating the droning background textures and tones. Everything is sequenced by Patterning 2 on the iPad. Everything is smashed together in the reliable Boss BX-8."

DSI Pro 2 + Moog Sub 37 :: Synced Sequencers

Published on Dec 7, 2015 experimentalsynth

"Syncing sequencers, arpeggiators and more on the DSI Pro 2 and Moog Sub 37, then sending clock-synced CV step sequences and LFOs from the Pro 2 to the Sub 37. On top of that, we have the Eventide H9 and the Patterning drum app (both clock-synced). Just scratching the surface and exploring a bit. There are worlds to discover with a setup like this. "It's my first time using my Elektron Digitone with an iPad Pro. I routed the Digitone to additional FX via AUM and used Patterning 2 for drums. Audio was recorded internally via AUM. Easy setup and only needed a USB cable!"

Create Brian Eno style generative music: 20 ideas and tools for Ableton, Eurorack, DAWless and VCV

Published on Apr 24, 2019 loopop

“Generative Music” is a term coined by Brian Eno to describe music that is always different and changing, generated by a system but led by creative guidelines, rather than typical music which follows a set of predetermined notes intended to be played the same way every time.

This video includes 20 ideas and even more tools for creating generative music inspired by Brian Eno's generative work. It's focused on ideas rather than one platform, and covers eurorack, iOS, VCV and Ableton tools for creating generative and probability based music.

TIMELINE OF IDEAS AND TOOLS:

0:00 Defining Generative

1:05 Simple randomization – Ableton MIDI LFO Max4Live device

2:10 Scaling random pitch – Ableton Random and Scale MIDI effects

2:50 Pitch to modal chords - Harmonaig from Instruo, with arpeggiation by Quaid Megaslope and Boss Bow Tie from ALM playing Rings from Mutable Instruments

Alpha Base Noisy Techno

NoizeHack

"I tried out a Jomox Alpha Base. It sounds great, of course the Jomox kick is amazing, it has the weird and interesting mBrane which i ran through the DBA Ghost Delay. It has an FM synth with a 4x4 matrix for dialing in modulation, but I wish it had more envelope control over modulation amount. The rest of the sounds are samples going through analog filters, you can pitch them a ton, its pretty fun to pitch tiny rides down into deep gongs and short snappy claps into giant noise bursts.

I used Patterning 2 to sequence the Alpha Base and all the sounds are going out on separate channels and mixed in the BX-8 with the preamps overdriven."

Doom to Jazz and back. Elektron A4, Korg E2, DSI Tetra, Animoog, iM1, Patterning, Genome

Published on Jan 18, 2016 exnihilo415

"Feels like a drone laden DOOM level in the beginning and then it transitions into a upbeat jazzy section and then before you know it you're knee deep in the dead again fumbling for the red keycard.

Genome MIDI is doing most of the sequencing aside from the internal stuff on the A4 and the internal stuff on the Electribe

Channel 2: Moog Animoog, sparkly lead duty.

Channel 4: is Korg iM1 doing the stabby chord progressions

Channel 5: Drone. DSI Tetra thru Boss RE-20 delay for max malaise

Patterning: The echo Clav, soft martial hats, and some kick

Korg Electribe: is doing deep kick, loud hat and snare

Elektron A4: Walking bass / jazzy mono lead for the upbeat part."
