Northern Light Modular Buchla Format Modules

"Buy any 2 used Northern Light Modular modules and receive a free h-Bracket."
"The h series modules require a h bracket to be mounted in a 1U space"

You can find videos featuring Northern Light Modular in previous posts here.

Pictured:
Voltage Circus – Model hVC
Trommelmaschine – Model hTM
Morphing Mixer – Model hMM
Electric Dompteur – Model hED
Time and Triggers – Model hTT
Classic Oscillator – Model hCO

The Voltage Circus consists of two rows of 3 voltage inputs and outputs that can be chained together.

Voltages can be added , subtracted or an offset can be applied per channel.

The inputs and outputs are buffered and can be connected with shorting bars.

A switch limits each rom to provide 100% or 33% to the mixer channel to make subtraction possible or prevent clipping.

One use of the hVC is for example transposing of sequences, adding subtle animation to pitch signals or mix wild CVs to provide complex noise sources

RSF Kobol Expander Vintage Analog supreme excellence!

"One of the best sounding synths of all time.

Tight snappy, yet full and electronics sounding.
One of the best Low pass filters of all time (Moog 904A might be better! ;-)

Runs on 240V (adapter required if you are in the USA).

Excellent condition. Some smudge on the upper VCA for OSC 1.

Lower right corner has a ding.

Sounds sublime, would not sell unless we kept another vintage Kobol Expander in stock ;-)"

"Unique chance to grab one in such a good shape, as those are no longer produced by Mos-Lab. I also owned an original Rsf Kobol Expander I and did some blind tests between both: impossible to perceive any audio difference, as Mos-Lab masters the vintage re-creation of legendary sounds."

"For sale is an incredibly rare vintage analog modular synthesizer setup: RSF Kobol Expander 1 + Expander 2 + Programmer. All units are in excellent shape and fully functional. Very rare to find even a single one of these pieces, let alone all 3 together in one set. This is an amazing French classic analog modular synth by Ruben & Serge Fernandez (RSF). Programmer was serviced with battery change for memory and power supply moved to prevent possible over-heating. You aren't likely going to find another set like this for sale anytime soon. Don't pass this up!"

Third Wave

video by Martin Peters

"This track began as a melody I had in my head during walking the dog. I entered the melody in the Cirklon sequencer and added some accompanying sequences. Add here you see and hear the result.

The track starts with the bass on the Synthesizers.com Modular and the melody on the Tom Oberheim SEM. After that the rhythmic noises from the Plaits through Clouds are added. The sequences on the Korg ARP Odyssey and a voice on the Modular with the MOS-LAB Kobol VCO's are introduced. And in comes the Roland JD-800 with a strings-like pad. An improvised solo is played on the Minimoog.

In the second part double-time sequences of another Modular voice and the Mopho are added. Chords are played on the Polymoog and again an improvised solo on the Minimoog.

This track is recorded live to multi-track and mixed in Studio One afterwards. Only tracks from the live recording are used.

This track is also available on Bandcamp:"

Synthesizer Evolution: From Analogue to Digital (And Back) is also available on Amazon here.

"Ciat-Lonbarde

Synthesizer Evolution: From Analogue to Digital (And Back) book review & book flip through. Synthesizer Evolution is a recently published book covering every major synth, drum machine and sampler from 1963-1995. Each instrument is hand drawn and includes vital statistics and quirky facts.

Synth Evolution is published by Velocity Press (https://velocitypress.uk) and written & illustrated by Oli Freke (https://www.synthevolution.net), a London-based musician, artist and author with a life-long passion for analogue synthesizers and electronic music.

Synthesizer Evolution: From Analogue to Digital (And Back) provides us with an in-depth look at synthesizer history over the decades and covers a variety of vintage synthesizers including analog synths, digital synths, modular synths, wavetable synths, FM synths, additive synths and more.

Join me for a narrated book flip through highlighting various synths and concluding with a brief book review at the end. Hope you enjoy and feel free to grab a copy of Synth Evolution if you like it.

Mos-lab Moslab RSF kobol analog synthesizer

"I used to own an original RSF kobol and this unit is spot on, probably the best bass Ive ever heard and fits into a mix better than a minimoog. I think they may be just as rare if not more so than the original kobols. The sweepable waveforms allow you to tweak the frequencies to a perfect spot when the cutoff is down so you can fit the notes right into a frequency pocket. I would say it sounds something like a minimoog and a pro one had a baby. Sync sounds great as well. This unit is in its own powered stand alone boat but but can also be racked as a giant 5u module, in perfect cosmetic and working order."

WFM oscillator -LA67 & Rebach VCO-A,VCF-A,ADSR-A

Dziam Bass

"Hello all.
today I patched WFM oscillator from LA67 and Rebach VCO-A, VCF-A ADSR. I added a traingle wave to FM IN in WFM and pulse waves from WFM to PWM IN in VCO rebach.
as you can see nice nice analog sound when i open more and close the filter.
This is a nice combination for me because the WFM is based on the old 1970 KOBOL oscillator and the rebate VCO based on the AS3340 so it gives a great character,
I tried to subtly add FM and open the filter for a musically working sound."
