Synth Programmer for Prophet VS

Published on Apr 13, 2019 Stereoping

"Demo for another Edition of the Synth Programmer - this time for Sequential Circuits Prophet VS. Some parts of the Prophet VS are a pain to be edited like e.g. the Wave envelope points/rates/levels as well as the modulation slot's switches. The Synth Programmer makes things much easier. The video shows patch selection with automatic data synchronisation, some editing of several parameters incl. the WAVE MIX envelope. Finally some footage demonstrating the much easier access to arpeggiator and the modulation slots using the Programmer."

Clock O'Pawn - Shakmat Modular Midi/CV Clock Generator

Published on Apr 13, 2019 Dziam Bass

"Today we have unboxing movie the Clock O'Pawn module from Shakmat Modular in combination with Quad Trigger Sequence Generator -Four Bricks Rook.
The Clock O'Pawn is a useful device for obtaining a clock that works like a real d'Orchester chef. The transport section allows you to start, stop and reset connected instruments that are synchronized with the intuition and MIDI equipment. If you get tired of the metronomic clock, turn up the swing function, and the maestro will guide you with a nice shuffle!
4 different clock sources: BPM potentiometer, knock frequency, external clock or MIDI input,A reset output that generates a reset trigger slightly before the first clock signal Swing function, controlled by a potentiometer, from bright groovy to triplets, is only part of what this module can do, the rest check on the official website, as well as a demo show that will introduce you to this module.http://www.shakmatmodular.com/index.php"

Demo :: H3000 on Drum Machine (Aphex Riff)

Published on Apr 13, 2019 SOLON Music

"Demo of Eventide H3000 D/SE presets using Roland TR8 + Yamaha Reface CS playing Aphex Twin riff from 'Ageispolis' (Selected Ambient Works 85-92). 10 presets demo'ed:

114 DENSE ROOM
496 MOON TURN TIDES
185 MAJ3RD-MIN3RD+
598 RANDOM GATE
366 1/2SEC GATORVRB
742 SYNTHISH
547 SETTLEDOWN ECHO
275 MY BLOODY VAL
395 HUGE DENSE HALL
596 HUMP-VERB

Chose these presets because they worked well with the riff used and demonstrate a wide variety of the sounds that the unit can produce.

In Richard D James' own words: 'the Eventide H3000 d/se are absolutely mental lush devices, those ones in particular really envelop the sound rather than tack it on, special blessed bits of equipment. 3000 has something amazing though that few things can touch, i mean just the digital filters on it are insane, engineers must have been on fire when they made that thing.' (from the Syrobonkers interview)"

Hawkeye - Chiphead (Stereo SID Acid)

Published on Apr 13, 2019 Hawkeye

"It has been a while - we have moved and i had to do a quick new studio test - using some original MB6582 'acid' basslines created by TK./Thorsten Klose. Many, many thanks! :)

This was done in only about two hours and is not really a full track (thus the new midiphy SEQ v4+ was mostly unused). It is more of a SID stereo bassline audio demo, highly repetitive. I've also added both video takes, i am not sure which one is better or if both are bad, please tell me what you think :).

In this video, most sounds are created by DIY devices:
* MIDIbox MB6582 for a pair of 8580 SIDs in stereo bassline mode
* Mutable Instruments Anushri for the lead
* midiphy LoopA prototype for sequencing
* DIY polivoks stereo VCF to filter the drums

Recorded directly onto a Tascam audiograbber, no DAW was used, only slight audio compression added in post production.

Non-DIY equipment used:
* Vermona DRM 1 for drums
* MFB Dominion I as a secondary bassline synth

Many greets and thanks for listening and watching!
