The dsp-G1 Analog Modeling Synthesizer - World's Smallest Hardware Synth?
Currently on Indiegogo"The dsp-G1 is a computer model of an analog synthesizer running with a sample resolution of 44.1KHz and 16-bit. It reads the parameters from the frontpanel knobs and calculates the sound output. It is played through a MIDI-IN connection.
It features a 3-DCO variable waveform oscillator, 18dB Lowpass filter with resonance, 2 Envelopes and 1 LFO. That adds up to 17 frontpanel realtime knobs.
The waveform can be seamlessly morphed from Sine, Triangle, Pulse to Saw.
There is also a Wrap setting for additional harmonics.
The 18dB resonant lowpass filter sounds very realistic and selfoscillates at high resonance settings.
It's 5-Note paraphonic meaning that it can take 5-key chords but they are all routed through single filter and amp envelopes.
All internal calculations are done at 32-bit integer resolution and output at 16-bits.
The dsp-G1 is a standalone synthesizer and requires no computer to play.
Just MIDI input from a keyboard or sequencer."

"My car was just broken into in SE Portland, Oregon. They took my monorocket black 9u filled with modules, and a tan 80s apple bag with cables and a 6" sony broadcast monitor. Any help in its return will be rewarded, no questions asked. Note the custom VCAM faceplate and prototype 4ms SISM module. These are one of a kind, and should be easy to track down. The LZX modules are also quite rare. The case is in the exact configuration in the picture when stolen.

"Mixtape Alpha is the smallest synthesizer we could make without a prescription. It has a stylophone style input for continuous note generation, and 6 buttons for discrete notes. With 4 voices, 4 effects, and 5 note polyphony there is quite a range of expression. But, the best part is, you can record the songs you make, and trade mixtapes with your friends! Perhaps even better, it’s based on the ATmega328p, and can be hacked to make even crazier sounds than we came up with.
If you want to dig into the guts of this 8-bit synth, check out the wiki page. There you will find all the schematics and code, and we even have a Pure Data patch for making your own wavetables. Mixtape Alpha even comes in its own cassette case, with instructions!
Mixtape Alpha was done in collaboration with Jie Qi from the High-Low Tech group at the MIT Media Lab. It’s an attempt to break down the barriers between people and electronics: To get them comfortable touching PCBs, and change expectations about how electronics should look. To this end, there are resistive touch pads, and all the trace routing took aesthetics into consideration as well. These are ideas very familiar to circiut benders, and we’re hoping they catch on with other folks as well."

ABOUT THE FLAME
The FLAME MIDI TALKING SYNTH is a small-sized MIDI-controlled sound module based on the analogue Speakjet ™ chip, produced by the U.S. company Magnevation LLC. Originally designed for basic artificially generated speech output in American English tongue it was then refined and further developed as an 8-bit sound module with speech-like sounds and synthetic robot voices as well as beeps, alarms, noise and retro-style sci-fi sounds. Due to the structure of the Speakjet ™ (with its complex sound synthesizer, preset sounds and serial interface) it offers an impressive range of possibilities. It contains 72 speech elements (allophones), 43 sound effects, and 12 DTM touch tones. The idea was to create sounds, patterns and sequences in the 8-bit style of the 80s or other retro sounds for making music instead of just simulating speech. Most allophones can be tuned and used tonally. The FLAME MIDI TALKING SYNTH contains two Speakjet ™ chips to produce a richer and more complex tonal variety as well as generating a pseudo stereo effect. Thus a MIDI-controlled audio tremolo has been implemented in the FLAME MIDI TALKING SYNTH virtually allowing MIDI control and enabling an easier integration into a MIDI setup. - HOLD-switches to freeze the position of the joysticks - REC-switches to play back the recorded movements of the joysticks.
- SEQ mode sounds can be played manually.
- EXP mode for a drum expander module use. Words and sounds are triggered only by received MIDI notes. No sequencer/ tremolo/ random or scale functions are available in this mode.

I used Volca Bass, Keys & Beats (additional drums) , Xbase 09 (main beat), Juno 60 & Nord Modular, MS-404 & Guitar!.
All synths & EchoPro (Delay) are sequenced with RPE SEQ12 matrix sequencer or played live.
Contains very close street-videos of people in the bar district of Dresden (filmed on a tuesday evening during walking to our restaurant & back home)
