Teenage Engineering Pocket Operator - Lunch break Jam [just posted below]
"Teenage Engineering PO-12 Rhythm, PO-20 Arcade & PO-28 Robot with a Korg KP-mini doing a live improvisational synth jam.
Hi Gang,
This is more of an experiment really but it's the first of a series of recordings I'll be doing during my lunch breaks. You see, I started a new diet and I'm not going out for lunch anymore so I have some free time. This was the first test run to see how things would go.
I'm building a larger, all battery powered mini-studio that will fit inside an aluminum case. It will use my Novation Circuit, Pocket Operators, Volca Keys, a couple guitar pedals and a battery powered mixer recording into the trusty DR-05. BUT.. I haven't finished building that yet so this was just a mess around with the PO's.
Don't expect anything magical here. I'm just messing around and I've found this particular signal chain seems to introduce a lot of noise. It'll be better when I split the sync off and send the audio for the PO's into the mixer individually.

"A quick demo / jam session with a few ways you can get creative with your drops / song arrangements using Active Step, Decay/Delay drops, EG INT, Muting and Filters. This is all done live using the same Pattern throughout - which is a sequence from a SCHØØLTRIP song (soundcloud.com/schooltrip)
Drop 1 @ 1:03
Drop 2 @ 3:05
Apologies for the poor sound quality, just had everything going through an amp for quickness and one mic setup in the room (which isn't a great room)"
"Here I'm sending the left channel of one Volca Beats to a Novation MiniNova, set to the Robot Voice vocoder. The right channel of that Volca Beats goes via a Korg KaossPad Quad for a stereo delay effect. The other Volca Beats is split into two channels on the mixer, EQed so that one has only the bass and the other has only the midrange and treble. The midrange and treble channel gets some reverb from the mixer (a Tascam DP24). All the channels get compression and EQ from the mixer. So from the two "mono" Volca Beats units I have used six channels on the mixer, two of which are set up as stereo pairs. The moral of the story: split the left and right channels of your Volca Beats output to get more interesting sounds!"
"TT-303 side by side an original TB-303 w/ MIDI. MIDI pattern played by MPC1000. They sound pretty similar but the TT seems to be one octave lower. We will try to tune both and redo the vs."
"ARP Odyssey MKII 2813 synthesizer in completely serviced and perfectly functional condition. Studio ready, and in very excellent cosmetic condition, this is a great sounding analog synth, no issues."
"This is a MKI (first generation, white control panel) ARP Odyssey 2800 in absolutely perfect working condition and beautiful cosmetic shape. Meticulously cleaned, and recently serviced (including complete calibration and an entire new set of keyboard bushings) this Odyssey is studio ready and collector quality!"
"I just plugged that synth on and played a little bit around without looking at the details as well as the manual at all. Also I jumped around the presets that come with this synth. To me this synth really sounded interesting. The design is a great one. And still it is a Korg ;)."
"working out on the machines! We only half know what we're doing.
The Machinedrum UW clocks the jam and triggers the 101 sequencer. Way too much Big sky action on everything, and we mess with the settings. Bassdrum is pushing around the Boss RLC compressor into happy places. Oto machines Bim and Biscuit feature too"

This one gets a little screechy at :40 and a few spots so watch your levels.
"Keeping the theme from part 1, this time focusing more on the acid"

For those that missed it, see this post. It just came to my attention the previous video was pulled so I updated the post with the new one. This one came in directly via su zu, synthesizer girl herself.
The module is currently up for Pre-order for $268.00. If you want one you might want to sign up as the module will only happen if enough pre-orders come in. Click through for details. The following is a description of the module. As always, you can click the images on the left and zoom in for larger versions.
"This Preliminary information subject to change.
Q173 Gate Math Module
The Q173 Gate Math module divides and multiplies gates and clocks, produces random gates, sequence patterns, drum patterns and various irregular patterns. Four separate outputs are individually programmed with hundreds of possible options.
Six configurations can be programmed then selected manually or via voltage control. Each configuration selects the options you've programmed for each of the 4 outputs. This allows you to easily switch between divisors or patterns.
Gate output options include Binary which has a 50% gate time, Trigger which has a short 5ms gate time, and Gate which duplicates the width of the incoming gate. The output can be switched between normal and inverted polarity, and the S option causes the first incoming step to be skipped. This allows for an amazing array of possible output patterns.
Each of the 4 outputs can receive its gate/clock from the IN jack, or from other outputs using the Source setting.
Setting options is easy - just set the desired option with the top knob and the three toggle switches, then press the Set button for the output you want to program.
The Simple setting provides quick access to divide-by-2, 4, 8, 16 at the 4 outputs.
Without a plug inserted into the IN jack, the Configuration knob and jack operates as an internal clock source to drive the outputs. This clock is available at the Thru jack. This allows the Q173 to be used as a stand-alone gate sequencer, random gate source, or drum pattern generator.
The Q173's wide array of features and programmability makes it powerful and unique."
"For sale is a pair of Aluminum (Jupiter 8 style) ends/cheeks/sides for a Roland Juno 106. They have a linished/brushed finish and have a satin feel to them. These are in second hand condition with a few minor scratches and blemishes but are otherwise in excellent condition.
The synthesizer featured in the photos is obviously not included."
"KOTELNIKOV is a Wavetable oscillator with analog amplitude modulation and built-in multimode transient generator making it a self-contained voice module.
This is the first demo, briefly showing some abilities, waveform variety. More are to come.
The unit in this video is controlled by two sequencers: one is Doepfer A-155, generating a 8-note melody sequence, and second is Thonk Turing Machine, generating random sequence, which changes the selected waveform at the beginning and at the very end of the video."
"Here is a 1 hour+ review of reveal-sound.com’s Spire version 1.1.3. I also make a patch from scratch in the 2nd half of this review and that patch is available to download for free from the FuturX Patch library page at www.PlugInGuru.com.
Thank you to all of you for your continued support!"
"We started a band. Some of my good friends who all make musical stuff, decided to start doing more things together. We call it Involved in the Troubles. What better song to do as our first song as a band, than Aquatic Ambiance from Donkey Kong Country? Hope it was worth the wait!
Josiah, Rich, Austin and I have been joking about starting a space folk progressive post metal band for a long time. It was always one of those, 'we are laughing, but everyone really actually wants to do this thing' sort of things. We hope to do more covers. We hope to do originals. We just want to make shit together. Involved in the Troubles. More coming soon, probably."
"A very cool classic synthesizer from Sequential that is based on vector synthesis. The Joystick section on the left side allows you to morph the different oscillators. This synthesizer uses a total of 4 oscillators per voice with 127 waveforms.
The VS has 100 factory presets stored in 10 banks. This unit also supports MIDI where all the vector data can be recognized and transmitted, making this unit a great piece to join many setup environments."
"The model 102 is keyboard less version of the System 100 model 101 synthesizer. The model 102 creates very rich and easy to control analog sounds. These units can be added to make the sound fatter and richer. The model 102 is identical to the model 101, but the Portamento/ Glide function is replaced by Sample and Hold feature of the LFO, Ring Modulator, Noise Generator and A-440 tuning osc."
"Another session with the APC at its core, triggering clips in Ableton live. Microkorg plays the chords. Use audio pluggiator (offscreen) the organ thing in the middle. Microbrute is creating the quick repetitive background sequence. Main repetitive melody is from the Dixie II with some linFM from a lfo influenced by a stepped random voltage from the MFB dual lfo. Percussion from a wavefolded triangle from the a143-4, through a closed MMG, opened with the strike input. Other beats from ableton.. Beatstep-pro is working as a midi to cv converter. Also drives the doepfer clock divider.
