鬼的影子 -dingo On Pony (roland Mt - 100 Lo - Fi Mix)

via 鬼的影子:

"This track is a demo of some of Roland's MT-100 (1988) sounds being MIDI sequenced by Ableton. The sound from the MT-100 has been processed with some hardware such as spring reverb plus tube, tape & solid state saturation in addition to a ZVEX lo-fi junky pedal."

::vtol:: magnetophone from ::vtol:: on Vimeo.

Interactive sound object/instrument.

"It sometimes happens that first the piece is born, and only after this you suddenly realize what it is about and how it should be used. Last summer (2018) I very quickly produced an interactive algorithmic object for a small exhibition. This object was producing endless aleatoric compositions using rotating magnets and magnetic field sensor (it was not the first time that I was using this scheme). The title appeared by itself: Magnetophon. The obvious simplicity of the object made me plan some remakes to follow. And then, at some point I got an old classic Soviet pocket radio receiver Neiva RP-205 - this model was so popular that it is still in production, almost without changes (it is being made by ’Production Association “October” - Kamensk-Uralsky’). Suddendly everything came together - the memories of waiting for the favourite song in order to record it on the audio cassette, and many hours spent combing through the radio waves in search of certain noises. I added to my initial object an antenna, a radio receiver and upgraded the firmware for transforming the recorded radio broadcast whirl.

The idea to use radio as a part of musical instrument is not new at all, of course - the musicians, artists and engineers were always attracted by the possibility to incorporate radio noises or randomly received radio broadcasts into the sound flow, or use them as a base for synthesizing new sounds. But of course it’s not a reason to not use this technology again and again. Especially interesting to me are receivers which work in a wide spectrum of frequencies: SW, MW, LW. In spite of the fact that the quantity of the stations is diminishing every year, still even in Moscow from the balcony you can catch programs in 5-6 different languages (for some reason, very often they are theological)."

hardware:

- axoloti board
- dc motors
- servo motor
- hall sensor
- leds
- ldr sensors
- custom electronics
- 1 channel sound system
- Neyva РП-205 radio

What is Jamuary? Post one musical jam every day of January (or as many days as you can). Keep it simple. Get going. Instagram probably has the strongest community surrounding Jamuary. And it's great over there, since the 1-minute limit is helping a lot in keeping it simple, and getting over the starting barrier. Arturia Minibrute 2 & Korg SQ-1 'Random + Random' (useage demo)

Published on Jan 7, 2019 DreamsOfWires

"This was just a test. Since the Minibrute 2's second VCO is available on the patch bay, I thought I'd try syncing the SQ-1 to the Brute and using it to control VCO2's pitch, with the synth's arpeggiator controlling VCO1. Both the sequencer and the arpeggiator are in random mode, and are sending two separate groups of selected notes randomly to each of the Minibrute's oscillators.

Recorded using AUM on an iPhone with EOS2 for reverb. Cameras: LUMIX GH4 and GX7.

Beethoven Moonlight Sonata Behringer DeepMind 6 Synthesizer Music Rik Marston

Published on Jan 7, 2019 SynthgodXXX

"**Watch in HD** **Turn it UP!**

Piano Sonata No. 14 in C# minor "Quasi una fantasia", Op. 27, No. 2, popularly known as the "Moonlight Sonata", is a piano sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven. It was completed in 1801 and dedicated in 1802 to his pupil, Countess Giulietta Guicciardi

I am working on my new CD "33" and I am getting re-inspired by my favorite classical composers.
I multi-tracked the Behringer DeepMind 6 and tweaked patches "Pulsar","Slow Pad" & "Phat Morph"and made this rendition of this beautiful song.
It's my favorite classical work by Beethoven.
This was sequenced on the Korg Kronos then I sent MIDI to the DeepMind 6 & multi-tracked on Ableton LIVE.
All effects are coming from the Behringer DeepMind 6, no other effects used.
Awesome synth! I hope you like it!
Of course it is a synthesizer adaptation SO BE KIND CLASSICAL WIZARDS!
It is very hard to do classical with synthesizers, unless your name is WENDY CARLOS!!!

Sequential In The Spotlight Interview with S Y Z Y G Y X

You can find the interview on Sequential's website here.

"Bleak, post-apocalyptic soundscapes powered by retro punk biting synth lines and minor scale hooks fuel the sound of S Y Z Y G Y X. A creative collaboration between Luna Blanc and Josh Clark, S Y Z Y G Y X currently have three EP’s out that are generating attention and accolades (Hex’n Equinox on Cleopatra Records, Broken Mirrors on Burning Grave Records, and Encounters on Cold Transmission). Over time, their music has evolved from mostly instrumental pieces with heavy distortion to more recent work that weaves together catchy vocals and melodies. The group continues to evolve.

Josh and Luna play equal parts in the creative process and the production of their work. They enjoy taking turns at vocals, creating different sounds, with each engineering different parts of their songs. Be on the lookout for heir debut L.P. soon to be released on their own imprint, Burning Grave Records.

We chatted with Luna and Josh about how they’re using the Prophet Rev2"

Flat Beat Synth Tutorial (Korg MS-20)

Published on Jan 7, 2019 Alex Ball

"Following my Daft Punk synth tutorial [here], a number of people sent me messages asking for a demonstration of Mr Oizo's "Flat Beat" which was done on a Korg MS-20 and an Akai S1000.

In the video we look at the principals of setting up that sound and why I concluded that he likely created it from a composite of samples, rather than in one pass."

DIY Keyboard Synthesizer by Niklas Wallin

Published on Jan 6, 2019 Niklas Wallin

"Quick demo of my synthesizer..
First doing reset of sound, then some pwm and xfade modulations and such.."

Some additional info via Niklas:

"It has 8voices , every voice has two oscillators, every oscillator has two waves that can be crossfaded. There are two filters, connected to each oscillator. The one connected to osc1 has some resonance. It's just a "simple" simulated two stage rc-filter, but the sound chain it's pretty much ALL written in pipelined code, so it's running at about 15Mhz sample rate per channel through the memory reading code all the way down to the filters that's running at 3,75Mhz and then a cic filter before exiting in 8 dac8550 1Mhz dac's. There is a modulation matrix with 31 non programmable slot's easily changed at compile time, that's kind of the heart of the whole thing. You can store 256 sounds on a Ferroram. For space reasons , most parameters are signed 10bit registers."

#Subsequent37 #NovationPeak #BerlinSchool

Happy 2019 !!

This was just one of those things that happened as a happy accident, I had a 8 step sequence in my head for some time due to overconsumption of TD and wanted to just get it out of my head into a sequencer. While programming it, I was like.. what the heck, let's record something. :)

The KORG grandstage has a decent string machine emulation / sample which i use on the intro. Also from the grandstage but recorded in the 720 stereo looper is a Rhodes piano loop.

NLA1 does bass pads + a loop I recorded into the ditto, a rotary/tremolo and LFO modulated slow arpeggio thing. They both pass through the empress reverb which uses the Ghost algorithm, heavy on modulation.

The peak does 8 note sequence programmed using the Keystep. Some internal minor modulation on filters, with an LFO plus Envelopes. Internal peak FX are only used on this sound.

Sub 37 does the most complex things on this one, 3 distinct variations on one and the same patch.

The first one is vanilla lead with some filter drive, with no modulation 2VCO + very little sub.

Second part is that I also do a super fast arpeggio which i turn on just to add some extra spice toward mid track, using the same sound.

Lastly, I turn up the EG on the filter on which I have set the filter envelope looping so i can adjust the speed of the loops with the attack knob to create a pingpong effect you hear at the end. While playing with the attack turned up in the beginning it sort of sounds like a normal LFO.

I hope you like this one!

Tiptop Audio Forbidden Planet as an Oscillator

Published on Jan 7, 2019 Station 252

"Patched Tiptop Audio Forbidden Planet VCF as an Oscillator. Other than the BD808 it is the only sound source. I run it through Fold Processor and ModDelay Panning Taps on Z-DSP. It is pinged by gates and triggers from Circadian Rhythms (Into Low Pass Input) and by Z4000 envelope (into Hi Pass) triggered from another CR track. Z8000 into QuantiZer into full range CV input. Other Z4000 modulates Fold. Z3000 modulates attack on pinging Z4000. By mistake I patched QuantiZer out also into Band Pass input on Forbidden Planet which surprisingly created weird timbre change that I liked."

Mini Jam Mondays #33 | Teenage Engineering PO-33 KO, PO-20 Arcade, & PO-16 Factory

Published on Jan 7, 2019 littleBIGsynths

"Hey guys! 🙂 Happy New Year! Here is my first jam of 2019... and what better way to kick it off then with a Mini Jam Monday! 😉 lol Tried to keep it super simple by using only Pocket Operators... which is always a lot of fun for me anyways.
Anyways, for this jam I am using the PO-20 for chords and other misc sounds; the PO-16 plays an arp style melody; and the PO-33 is playing drums along with some sampled sounds from the Volca FM.

Hope you guys enjoy this video and thank you for watching, littleBIGsynths.👍"

"This is the rare Korg 900PS analog Preset Synthesizer. There seems to be some confusion about the naming (sometimes called PS900), especially since the face plate says "Synthesizer Korg Preset." The 900PS is quite a basic but very interesting monosynth. The 900PS definitely 'borrowed' some ideas from the Pro-Soloist. Instant selection of 29 different tone colors. From the sweet sound of a violin to the chugging of a steam locomotive. Sensitive soft-touch switches and plentiful controls provide a wide variety of effects including vibrato, repeat, even the harmonics you need for a Hammond organ tone.

The 900PS has 29 presets: Timpani, Electric Bass, Synthe Bass, Piano, Harpsichord, Shamisen, Banjo, Mandolin, Xylophone, Tuba, Bassoon, Horn, Cello, Trombone, Saxophone, Voice, Clarinet, Accordion, Trumpet, Funky Trumpet, Synthe Trumpet, Oboe, Violin, Recorder, White Noise, Scale Noise, Harmonics I, Harmonics II, Harmonics III.
You can edit: Portamento, Repeat, Vibrato: Speed/Depth, Attack Control, Sustain Control, Harmonics Control, Traveler Control (= filter cutoff), Pitch Bend, Forte, Volume.
There is also avery unique chromium rod 'touch bar' that runs the length of the keyboard in front of the keys to control: Repeat, Forte, Pitch, Vibrato, Portamento."

"Just serviced by Moog (they replaced the main analog board under warranty with a new board )

This unit does not have the newer Quiet II LED upgrade, so the BLUE LEDs will emit a whining sound if the brightness is cranked up all the way, but if you keep the setting around 3.5-4 it is quiet enough in the studio.

This has the 3.5 OS upgrade with the additional USER Patch banks available."

Pondering what to do this Sunday, I decided to record a tune for you all to enjoy. I really wanted to hear the Jupiter 6 Arpeggiator playing the famous I-IV-vi-V pattern. I used it in my tune "Wonder" and truly enjoy it, so I figured I'd recycle and create a variation. The Jupiter 6 is going through TC Electronics Flashback and Hall of Fame. The Juno 106 is happily on patch 12 adding that glorious BASS to the tune while going through the Boss RV-6 and DD-7. The Juno 60 is plucking away on patch 26 while going through the TC Electronics Alter Ego x4. I let the T2 have a break from this tune. Thanks for watching!"
