Frankfurt Süd- Oberheim OB-Mx -Music Track.

Published on Jun 29, 2019 100 Things I Do

"When you first turn on the OB-Mx like many vintage analog synths, it takes a long time for the voices to stabilise. Sometimes when the voices are out of tune it can be very inspiring and this is whats happened here. I turned on the synth, found the patch.. gave it an initial tune and just let the synth drift.

The OB-Mx in many ways can sound like a CS-80, you can even do faux Ring modulation by pushing the VCA of VCO 1 and VCO 2. A magical synth that was totally out of place when it was released in the 90's! Such a shame they are going for so much money now, I would love some extra voices.

Massively inspired by Brian Eno's work on David Bowie's LOW (I was on the way to Berlin when I shot the footage)

I'm using the Valhalla Delay and Vintage Verb on this track and my home rolled Crystal Echo's patch :D"

Published on Jun 29, 2019 synth4ever

"An in-depth synth store & studio tour of Perfect Circuit Audio in Burbank, California.

Perfect Circuit is a premiere synthesizer shop that sells hardware synths online and in-store, and you've likely seen their amazing synth demos on Youtube. I was able to stop by on a trip to Los Angeles and visit the store in person.

In this video, Trevor Baker gives us a tour of their synth showroom and takes us through various analog and digital synths, modular synthesizers, records, guitar pedals and more.

Founded in 2007 and run by a team of musicians, engineers, and sonic anarchists, Perfect Circuit strives to provide the best musical gear and synth shopping experience possible. Their showroom in Burbank, CA carries a diverse selection of synthesizers, modular synths, pro audio, effects pedals, vinyl and boutique electronic music instruments.

Their staff are very knowledgeable and the low pressure environment creates a space where customers are free to take their time, try out gear, and ask questions.

If you're ever in Burbank, CA be sure to pay them a visit in person. You can find Perfect Circuit online at:

Tonestar 8106 Batty for Pulse Width

Published on Jun 29, 2019 StudioElectronics

"IG:

Beloved Square Waves and their Pulse Widths meet #OutsToOuts patching, with a touch of Toolbar sweetening. Colors abound, smooth to staggering—especially when tag-teamed oscillator and filter audio rate modulation digs its heels in. Drenching and quenching "resonancy" filter tracking and oscillation break up & wake up, near half way through, after shattering and jagged, bar line moving, vibrated squares dance for their supper. OK, it's late and showing in my prose. Wait... the peaceful ticking at end... it's so nice.

Enjoy,
MSR"

Erica Synths-Black Modulator as a source of noise for drums

Published on Jun 29, 2019 Dziam Bass

"Helllo Guys !!!
today I have a small movie using the Black Modulator LFO module from Eric Synths.
In addition to this, the Black Modulator is an LFO module, it is also a source of noise, offering three noises. White Noise, Pink Noise and Crushed Noise, I made sounds from each of them for this video and used them as sounds of Drums.
Of course, this is a full synthesis of the same noise so I also used modules such as Pico VCF, Pico EG, Black Quad VCA and Black VC EG.
As you can see, shortening the hat with the Black VC EG module first linearly later on the Logarytmic and gave me some fun and add kick from Pico DRUMS!
But mainly I wanted to pay attention to the fact that black Modulator is not only LFO module. Buying it you get three potential sources of noise, you can also patch them yourself with LFO because they work independently"

Volca Role-Reversal Jam! (Volca Drum as Synth/Volca Modular as Drum Machine!)

Published on Jun 29, 2019 Oscillator Sink

"I've come to terms with the fact that using synths as drum machines is kinda 'my thing' now. I also "have prior" for using drum machines as synths.

In this jam, all of the synth lines are coming from the Volca Drum, and the percussion is coming from the Volca Modular. The Volca Drum is being recorded through the Digitech Polara Reverb to give it a little more ambience; the Volca Modular is recorded dry - any ambience you hear is coming from its internal "Space" effect. There's a little EQ and compression in the mix, but haven't added anything else.

Both Volcas are running a single pattern, but the Volca Drum is taking advantage of the 'Active Step per Track' trick along with Step Probability and the Volca Modular is in Stochastic mode with lots of 'Woggle' so there's quite a bit of variation happening within those single patterns."

Most Rockin' Yamaha CS80 Video Ever?

Electric Light Orchestra - Confusion Published on Dec 4, 2015

"Music video by Electric Light Orchestra performing Confusion. (P) 1979 Epic Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment"

Just saw Jeff Lynne's ELO on tour. Great show. Never saw this video until now. They didn't play it, but my kid asked what was the song where they say "Confusion!" I looked it up and there was the CS80. Didn't know it was capable of that particular sound. :) And no, I'm not making fun of ELO. I love them. Just hearing that sound come out of a CS80... It's not all about Vangelis, I guess.

And a "re-worked" video:

JUST WALK AWAY (Louise Burns)// Synth Jam: Prophet-6, Prologue, Juno-106, OB-6, TR-808

Published on Jun 28, 2019 MR TUNA Music

"Here's my super synth cover of Louise Burns Music's #JustWalkAway (Which just got released today and you should check that OUT!)
➡️➡️➡️ Starting with the #Jupiter80 controlling the stacked synth sounds of the #KorgPrologue and the #Prophet6, before we hop over to the sweet steel drums of the vintage #Juno106 and then it’s some tricked out transistor beats from the #TR808 + the #TR8 twins before we get in some #System8 and lay down that arp bass on the #OB6
#newmusic
It's basically just the intro riff exxxxtended into a classic tuna-jam, but that's kinda what I'm allllll about over here. 4 bar loops.
Presented in hyper-immersive MouthCam™ for your dizzying excitement!! 😵😵😵"
