New Blue on White Korg Polysix Metal Panel Cases by Synthronics

via synthronics.de

"Polysix synthesizers normally have worn and rusty metal panels with scratches on paint.

It was decided to re-manufacture the WHOLE metal panel incl. new paint coat and new silk screen printing.

The paint coat (in comparison to original panel) ist on both sides, so the panel will not rust nowhere.

All silk printings are as close as possible to original to preserve the original look of this great synth.

Printed texts „1 OCT DOWN“ and „2 OCT DOWN“ of the SUB OSC switch stick out of the violet rectangle around 0,5mm. This small defect is present on all panels.

New Arturia Keystep update - New Sequencer tricks!

Published on Aug 21, 2019 Gaz Williams

"Here I take a look at the recently released v.1.1 free firmware update for everyones favourite midi and CV controller, the Arturia Keystep. I have it hooked up via MIDI to my Dreadbox Abyss to demonstrate some of the funky new features. I haven't fully figured out some of the new stuff especially the random modes within the arpeggiator so instead I focus on the new sequencer stuff."

Roland Juno 60 sound demos

"Borrowing a friend's Juno 60 for a while, thought I'd make a few sounds and give it a good test drive. I didn't use Chorus in any of these patches, to be honest, I don't really like Chorus except on guitar (and even then, I prefer delay, so... I don't know?). It's a beautiful synth, but I think I'm OK not owning one personally."

Some distortion between 5:50 & 7:10.

Analogue Solutions PRO TIP: Impulse Command Controlling Pitch via the 16-Step Sequencer

Impulse Command in blue!

"Analogue Solutions Impulse Command PRO TIP!

The IC's 16-step sequencer is primarily used for modulation since the MIDI Loop sequencer would ordinarily be used for note control.

However, you can patch (with a cable!) the sequencer output to
the Pitch control input jack if you want the step sequencer to also control pitch.

Have fun!"

Demo of the Ciat-Lonbarde Rollz-5+, Meng Qi PCB

"I recorded this over a year ago, and there's probably numerous errors in it. Let me know and I'll add corrections as we go!

Here's a brief introduction to Meng Qi's realization of the fantastic Ciat-Lonbarde Rollz-5. It's sort-of-a drum machine which produces strange and wonderful rhythms and timbres.

Meng Qi/Ciat-Lonbarde Rollz-5 Patches

Published on Apr 17, 2019

"Here's another awesome instrument I don't use nearly enough: Meng Qi's realization of the Ciat-Lonbarde Rollz-5, which I picked up from Modular Addict

This thing is awesome: 2 sets of Rollzer (3, 4, 5, and 6), 4 AV-Dogs, 2 Ultrasound Filters (with two inputs each), and 4 gongs. The instrument is unruly and chaotic - the odd rollz can't quite produce a repeatable pattern, and some of the even ones struggle, too!

The rhythmic lengths are designated by the capacitors in each set of rollz, so there's no knob to make things faster or slower. There's only the ability to patch between them and inject and react to new rhythms and pseudo-rhythmic sonic events. As a result, even something as 'predictable' as the gong, which should just act as a tom, can produce wild timbral variation when activated by an audio-rate input. Despite such simple ingredients, loops can be created that last longer than expected, and with more variation than a normal drum machine would offer.

It's not quite a PlumButter, but it's still quite remarkable."

Donkey Kong Country: Aquatic Ambience - Modular Synthesizer Cover

Published on Aug 21, 2019 Dinorrific

"Within the jungle of cables lies a patch that's absolutely bananas. I lie in bed awake with the David Wise's Aquatic Ambience in my head, from Donkey Kong Country, and decided I'd try to recreate it using the modular synth and the Volca FM. This thing is running sequencers galore, with complex sequencer advance and reset triggering.

A challenging patch to put together, but at least it's not Nintendo hard."

Synthesis Technology MOTM-700 Dual VC Router

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

"The MOTM 700 Dual Voltage Controlled Router is a unique module.

A pair of separate weighted switches that can route audio or voltage, and can be run parallel or in series.

It is controlled by setting a potentiometer at a value from -5 to +5 volts on the front panel, thus setting a threshold for incoming CV to throw the switch one way or the other. It can be used as 1 in 2 out, or 2 in 1 out, per switch.

It's like having an extra set of hands protruding from your body patching furiously fast on your behalf, but without the hideous immoral experiments to get you there.

Some examples of uses:

Split points. Play your keyboard, as you go up or down the notes several events can be programmed to happen, be it timbral, textural, or pure insanity. Or unpure, your preference.

nonlinearcircuits beat freq 2

Published on Aug 21, 2019 nonlinearcircuits

"Mainly controlled by 2 VCOs, which also supply the audio. Middle section is clocked by 2 LFOs."

via nonlinearcircuits

"The idea for this module came from a schematic that has been floating around the web for years - 'beat frequency indicator'

The idea is to feed the circuit two signals and depending upon which one had the higher frequency the ring of 4 LEDs would light up in a clockwise or anti-clockwide direction. The speed of rotation would indicate how close or disparate the frequencies are. If the signals have the same frequency then just one LED is lit.

The original circuit used 74xxx series ICs for the logic, so it was simple enough to find the CMOS equivalents (sort of), then add gates corresponding to the LEDs and use the spare outputs of one chip to feed pots to make sequences. Then for good measure a discrete XNOR circuit was added to give a psuedo ring-modulator output based on the 2 incoming signals.

In operation this module is quite unique; the CV signals return to 0 between each step, the length of each step can vary depending on the incoming signals. Gates come in spurts. The circular LED display jerks around, sometimes it completes several revolutions confidently and then stutters between two stages, sometimes it shimmers on one spot.

At both audio rates and clock rates, this module is quite unpredictable but always seems to be putting out useful signals.

PCB = USD18
Panel = USD20

nonlinearcircuits 1U Signum 2

Published on Aug 21, 2019 cirtcele

via nonlinearcircuits

"In the simplest sense, this is a switching module. It is a little different though because it has 3 states rather than just on/off:
\operatorname{sgn}(x):={\begin{cases}-1&{\text{if }}x<0,\\0&{\text{if }}x=0,\\1&{\text{if }}x>0.\end{cases}}
In this case, the module uses approx 1V, rather than 0V, as the switching point, so that it can be controlled by gates. It is simple to bring it back to 0V for those who think it should be.
Also the '0' state is really a result of the diode voltage drops rather than any circuit design trickery.

The signal on the bottom input is fed to the switch of the Switch jack (oh yes) so the incoming signal can switch itself without any help.
The three states actually mean there is a flat spot at the switching point, so the circuit can be used for audio but at slow rates there is a click, so it is far better suited for CV processing.

This circuit originally was used as the nonlinear element in the Primal Hyperchaos and two of them in the Hyperchaos Deluxe. I quite like it on its own, so the Signum Hyperchaos brought the signum section to the panel where it could be used as a stand-alone module. This version drops the chaos and just has the Signum.
The switching is done by diodes rather than a dedicated IC.

The panels are available in white/gold and black/gold in both Pulp Logic and Intellijel formats. Please specify which colour and which format you want when ordering.

Also the PCBs are the same for both panel formats and use a standard Eurorack power connector. There is no provision for the Pulp Logic 3 pin power connector.

PCB and panel set = USD10
Assembled = USD55"
