"Finally starting to grasp the true power of the DFAM. MODULATION is the key, my dudes and dudettes. Use that patchbay! 🤟 Anyway, I did this the other day and almost did not upload because I had way better takes, but this was the best one on camera. So it goes. 😑"

Aquifex - Minilogue + Kaossilator Live Jam 081520

"This is another 'one synth/all parts' demo with a slight exception. I felt this demo needed some drum machine type drums/perc, so I had to go outside the Minilogue to add some some bits, but all other sounds are straight from the Korg Minilogue, built DAWless live with a looper and some external FX from the Zoom MS-70CDR. The TheoryBoard was used with the Minilogue to create the opening chord progression."

WDR3 Studio Elektronische Musik: Fairlight CMI

This one in via swissdoc

"Hints to the start of Fairlight are given and why it was called Fairlight. Then I found this ressource:

Good stuff about the Fairlight and the early days with the Quasar M8." [previously posted here with a pic]

The mother of all digital samplers comes from Australia. In 1979 Peter Vogel and Kim Ryrie built the first copies of the Computer Music Instrument (CMI): processor, screen with light pen, pressure-sensitive keyboard and sound files on floppy discs.

For the first CMI synthesizer with sampling function, the musicians had to put 1 million US dollars on the table. The proud price did not prevent its triumphant advance through the world of pop and experimental electroacoustic music. On the contrary: the Fairlight CMI shaped the sound of the eighties and nineties. Today it is a historical instrument, but some composers are still using the light pen again.

Moog DFAM Drummer from Another Mother Analog

via this auction

"Drummer From Another Mother (DFAM) is a highly-interactive, Semi-Modular Analog PercussionSynthesizer and a vibrant deviation from the traditional drum machine. As the newest addition to theMother-32 family, DFAM presents a uniquely expressive hands-on approach to percussive patterncreation, inviting a deeply personal bond with each human being it encounters.

Emphasizing tactile exploration and experimentation, DFAM inspires completely new and uniquemanners with which visceral rhythms can be synthesized, expressed, and experienced. DFAMeffortlessly moves from gently evolving undulations and cyclical breathing patterns to hammering bassand clangorous cacophony, but the true beauty of this unique instrument lies in its ability tocontinuously spark inspiration through the repeated discovery of new and dynamic perspectives inpercussive synthesis."

via this auction

"The 1977 Moog Model D, serial #3334, is in good condition and fully functional. The synth has been bench tested, all switches, I/O’s and potentiometers work normally. The synth was stored several decades in a hard shell, foam lined case. There are various areas on the top of the Model D that the stain is lighter from foam attaching to the wood from years of storage."

Not quite midnight yet // OP-1 ambient sketch

Stefano Mattia

"My OP-1 arrived a couple of days ago. I got a good deal from a fellow synth enthusiast, who didn't really get along with it. My intention is to make it my portable ambient/electronic music composing tool.

Here's some sort of test track I came up with this afternoon while learning the basics: tape operations, sequencers, synth engines, etc.

After recording the various parts to the OP-1 tape, I exported them to Logic for some further arrangement and mixing."

"Anatek Pocket Filter is vital tool for problematic set-ups. With MIDI data becoming increasingly complex, Pocket Filter can unclog the MIDI data stream, sending only the most useful information. Use Pocket Filter to remove unwanted clock messages or System Exclusive data. When sequencer space is at a premium, use Pocket Filter' to remove memory-intensive aftertouch and controller information. Pocket Filter" frees-up unused MIDI Channels from multi-timbral synths, making them available for other modules. In addition, Pocket Filter" can be used to channelize oldersynths that only receive in OMNI mode. Use Pocket Filter' as a diagnostic tool to test or develop your own MIDI devices.

Mute Synth 1 - Dirty Electronics

via this auction

"The Mute Synth by Dirty Electronics is a hand-held touch and tilt instrument with copper etched artwork and contoured printed circuit board that was designed in collaboration with the legendary record label MUTE.

The Mute Synth combines sound synthesis with a sequencer/pulser, and it is knobless. It is controlled by using the conductivity of the human body to complete the instrument's circuit when the copper etching is touched. There are touch points on both sides of the circuit board, and the instrument is designed to be played with thumbs and fingers. Two tilt switches on different planes allow for gestural control of the sequencer. Pulsating brilliant white noise and grunge in the hand!

Here's a link to a video showing what the mute synth 1 is capable of" [posted here]

"OP-Z dub music! All sounds heard in this track is coming from the OPZ by Teenage Engineering. The Audio was recorded directly into the iOS camera app through an apple Lightning to USB (CCK) dongle. I also pre-recorded my vocals with my iPad. I then processed the audio in Cubasis before sampling it directly into the op-z through the CCK.

The video material was captured using an iPhone 6s and I edited the video with LumaFusion on my iPad Pro."
