Why TouchOSC? - It’s OS agnostic (it works on MacOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android) - Hexler has been around since 2007 and in my experience with TouchOSC, it has always been supporting the latest OS

How does the PRO-800 sound? I’m grateful to have owned a SCI Prophet-5 Rev2, a Wine Country Sequential Prophet-5 Rev 3.3 and currently own a SCI Prophet-10 module; the PRO-800 sounds very vintage and close enough to its ancestors IMHO."

"Introducing Behringer PRO-800, the worlds first analog 8-Voice poly synth that is affordable for everyone.
Delivering 8 fully analog voices with 2 VCO’s per voice, the PRO-800 faithfully delivers the amazing sound and experience of this historic synthesizer from 1982, all while introducing brand new features in a form factor that works within modern-day setups.
You need presets? We Hear You. PRO-800 delivers user memories for up to 400 sounds.
PRO-800 is also fitted with the iconic GliGli modification as standard, in addition to many of the new features that we have implemented including, the noise generator which was only ever found on the rare Japanese editions, full MIDI cc control, USB MIDI connectivity, dual polyphonic sequencer, dedicated LFO with 6 waveshapes, and VCA overdrive.
PRO800. True 8-Voice Analog Polyphony, now affordable for everyone.
"I have a bad habit of cranking the resonance on any machine I touch. It's so ingrained I did it at a friend's studio a little while back on an unfamiliar synth - and after a brief shriek decaying to an air-moving whomp I thanked the gods that the volume was set so low. I've used so many Polivoks-style filters in recent times I'm used to cranking the resonance with impunity.
Which brings me to the delicate love story between the Erica Synths Zen delay and the Behringer Pro-800. My trusty Rev2 is for sale and in its place I bought the Pro-800. Why trade down you may ask? Truth is I'm not a big poly player. The more polyphony you use the more simple the sound needs to be, in which case I wanted a simple yet knobby poly, and that's the Pro-800. Added bonus: no onboard effects. So when the Pro-800 arrived this week I teamed it with the Zen delay immediately.
So the romance is revealed: A brand new Pro-800 teamed with the Zen delay. The 800 is switched on for the first time, the resonance is cranked, the Zen's input drive and overdrive is engaged and almost immediately this gloriously jagged, gritty, and unpredictable darkness pours out.
Five minutes of first-time noodlings is a bit much I admit. And I was going to say all this over the top of the video but that felt wrong, like ads in a funeral service. So instead here it is. It is literally the first time I ever powered it on, to the point where I didn't even know how to save the sound or know whether I'm in tune, on the upside I pretty sure moved every knob and switch so if you want to replicate the sound, there it is.
Even so the 800's resonance is not fully cranked, I had to back off a little just to retain the ability to hold an actual melody.
Whether the 800 is good for anything else, who knows - I haven't got past this sound yet and I must look up how to save it. What's clear though is that the 800's filter teams beautifully with some heavy drive. I can feel more teamings in the air - perhaps another stereo 'Roger That' outing?
One final thing worth mentioning: the Zen delay cost significantly more than the Pro-800. Makes you wonder where your synth dollar is best spent.
"With such an incredible response to our recent announcement of PRO-800, it was clear you wanted to hear more of its incredible sound before it begins shipping (Estimated in April 2023).
With it's 8 fully analog voices with 2 VCO’s per voice, the PRO-800 truly opens up the world of affordable polyphonic synths to everyone.
Haven't seen the PRO-800 launch video yet? Be sure to check it out here: [posted here]
All sounds recorded are from the PRO-800 recorded directly into a DAW. The MONOPOLY is purely acting as a controller only.
Basic delays and a small amount of reverb has been added.
Behringer Pro-800 is a powerful synthesizer with huge potential and an incredible variety of sounds, this time we will dive into the world of pulsations, modulations and vintage feel.

"While I'm putting the finishing touches to my full comparison video here's some sounds to demo the similarities and differences between the Behringer Pro-800 and an original vintage Prophet 600 with the GLiGLi upgrade.
Simpler tones can be copied easily as the raw tone is all there in the oscillators. The filter envelope amount, sustain and cutoff work together slightly differently than the original so adding filter envelopes makes things a little more difficult, add to that the linear envelope shapes aren't the same - GliGLi updated the linear model in 2022 to reflect a more natural Prophet 5 Rev1/2 curve but this isn't in the Behringer. Plus Behringer have made the Pro-800 snappier, so the envelopes are not going to match on every occasion... not an issue in any way, every Prophet 600 with different GliGli firmware will be slightly different I imagine too... unless everyones updated to the 2022 version.
Other differences include the Poly-Mod, filter and LFO modulation ranges aren't as wide in the Behringer"
"Global Settings parameters (starting at 03:30 in the video above) are now bidirectional (read / write from / to synth).
Script: - Press Request to load the synth current Global Settings in the editor - Start editing (in the editor) - Press Write to save the Global Settings to the synth - Re-edit the Global Settings (in the editor) - Press Request to re-load the synth Global Settings in the editor, to demonstrate that it's the exact same Global Settings as edited a minute ago
Also as requested by some of you folks, I'm providing a free trial version of the editor: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/1y9ss...bm8o9ykp9&dl=0 - Choose MIDI Channel - Send Bank and Program Change - Request any patch from the synth, but only Oscillator A Volume is read - Write a default patch to the synth (any location), with user chosen Oscillator A Volume NB: - Requires a TouchOSC license (https://hexler.net/touchosc) - Make sure to select "PRO 800" in the TouchOSC application menu / Connections... / MIDI / Connection 1 / Send Port and Receive Port sub menu to enable bidirectional communication
Have fun! PS: In v3.0, SYSEX strings parsing / encoding procedure has been 'industrialized' which should enable future synth support with minimal effort"
"What an exciting day!!! The PRO-800 is alive!!! Some time ago we started a wonderful journey with the famous synth designer GliGli who rose to fame for his highly respected improvements around the Sequential PRO-600.
Together with GliGli we have taken this beautiful synth to the next level. The PRO-800 is now an fully polyphonic, 8-Voice Dual VCO synth with many new features.
We’re working hard to get it to you below US$ 600 while shipment is targeted for coming January."
"'Arps Collection' is a soundset of 50 presets for Behringer Pro-800. The patches cover a variety of Arp tones: mild and aggressive, deep and bright, soft and punchy, clean and noisy, modern and vintage.
Modwheel adds vibrato. You may use the arps with internal or external MIDI/USB clock. Play with division and swing parameters to change the arps' behavior.
The soundset is universal, the Arpeggios are suitable for all genres of electronic music, including Techno, House, Trance, Lounge, Downtempo, Funk, Disco, Pop, Acid, Hardcore, IDM, Drum'n'Bass, Breaks, Breakbeat, Trap, Electro, Ambient, Dubstep, EDM, Synth-Pop and others.
To load presets onto the device, please use the Synthtribe app, which is available on the official Behringer website.
The bank consists of 50 presets (00-49 slots are active, 50-99 are empty/init). You have the option to upload them all at once as a bank or load each preset individually, one by one. Before loading new presets, I recommend backing up any slots on your synth that you are currently using.
Individual uploading is recommended if you already have presets stored in different banks (A, B, C, D). Uploading the entire bank will overwrite all existing presets in the selected bank. On the other hand, uploading presets individually offers more flexibility. You can save new presets without erasing the previous ones, and you can arrange them to suit your preferences.

""Spacelab" was published by Kraftwerk in 1978 on their 7th studio album 'Die Mensch-Maschine' (The Man Machine). The album is one of Kraftwerk's best-known and most successful releases and is considered a milestone in pop history. Alongside the top hits 'Die Roboter' and 'Das Model', 'Spacelab' is also one of Kraftwerk's most iconic songs. The song received special attention when Kraftwerk performed it during their 2018 tour in Stuttgart together with German astronaut Alexander Gerst, who was live from the International Space Station (ISS).
With the cover, I stick to the original version as far as possible. I only added the radio announcements at the beginning and in the middle of the song. The musical structure is not very complicated: I play the lead voice with the Kawai S-100F synthesizer, which is about as old as the song. The prominent pad is played by the Behringer Pro-800. The strings I played with the Waldorf Streichfett. The bass arpeggio is a layered sound I created with the Behringer Model-D, the deep filter bass with the Behringer Neutron. The vocoder voices are self-recorded with the help of the Yamaha MODX. At the beginning you can hear the Behringer PRO-1.
In addition to my own recordings, I use audio, video and picture material from the NASA archive (https://images.nasa.gov/)."
"A classic analog 8-voice polyphonic synthesizer with 2 VCOs, 1 VCF, an arpeggiator and sequencer.

List price: $399 (in stock and immediately shipping from our factory)"
"The Pro-800 earns his own in the analog synth realm. Yes - I think it's a Prophet, but with its own nuance. I tried to bring out it's personality in these patches.
Really fell in love with this synth. But you know me: many loves, not so many marriages…
Also in the vid, some tips & tricks - stuff you might not have thought about yet. If you like the sounds: get the patches @Patreon, no need to enlist:
Transferring the sounds
The easiest way to transfer the sounds is with 'Swumpf' or Behringer own 'Synth tribe app'
Swumpf is a free online synth-editor based on Chrome, works great. You can also download an offline version, I recommend it because you never know. https://swumpf.com/pro800"
