Yamaha cs 80 demo video upload by Free Lunch
via this auction
"The goat. It sounds amazing. Local pickup only. The faceplate is in gorgeous shape. the wood is in great shape with a little scuffing. Lid and outer shell has some scuffing. No legs or pedals. Local pickup only. Come try it out and be amazed beyond words.
Works perfectly. A few buttons are a touch sticky. Memory 3 button sticks and has to be gently worked back up. I have included a demo putting this through its paces."
Never heard it called the goat before. Somone once referred to the Korg Maxi Korg 800DV as the goat. You can find a handful of goat posts here.

VTECH MUSIC MAJOR
via this auction
"This super cool electronic piano was designed to teach children music. It has 23 keys, 6 different keyboard patterns, 10 sound affects, 5 learning exercises, 12 different rhythms, and a tempo control . When you press a key, a corresponding red light appears representing the note on the music tablature screen.
Sounds:
This electronic piano TALKS!! Much like a speak and spell, the machine will ask you to perform tasks. When you first turn it on it asks, "Please choose an activity." Some tasks it will say "NO, try again." or "YES, you are right."
There are 7 different overall sounds the piano can perform as, piano, organ, flute, cello, trumpet, and voice.
Along with the regular piano keys, there are 10 sound effects keys. You can make a sound like a dog, fish, cow, goat, bird, and various percussion sounds.
But the COOLEST SOUND this piano makes is the voice function. If you press the little red button that looks like a face, the piano will function as the scales. Press a key and the piano will say, in a human-like voice, "Do, Re, Me, etc..."
The piano also has 12 different rhythm you can choose, including Bassanova, Disco, Rock 'n Roll, and others. There is also a tempo button that fluxuates the speed from pretty mellow to normal to super fast, nearly machine gun fire quality.
The demo function is cool. You can choose a song and the piano will automatically play the song and the corresponding notes lighting up on the screen.
Mechanics:
Manufactured by in the year 1986 buy the company Video Technology Educational Electronics or VTECH.
Takes 6 C batteries. there is no corrossion in the battery compartment. It also takes an 9V 500MA electronic adaptor.
Apparently, this machine holds some memory capacity; there is a record function...
If you're into circuit bending, the keyboard seems somewhat easy to get into."

"Alternate tuning using a Q172 Quantizer Aid module from Synthesizers.com. The melody line played is through Lil' Miss Scale Oven (LMSO) from Red Barn Goat Farm into an Access Virus TI synthesizer. The three variations on the tuning are loaded into the Quantizer Aid module using midi from an instance of LMSO."

VGM #218: Reunion // Final Fantasy VII (Synth Cover)
video upload by Amie Waters
"Someone commented that I should consider covering this deep cut from the Final Fantasy VII OST, and after listening to it I knew I would be covering it at some point. The FFVII soundtrack is just so full of incredible music I doubt I will run out of inspiring tracks from it any time soon. Huge shoutout to the goat, Nobuo Uematsu! This is also my very first fully 4K video and the first video made with my new camera!
Amie Waters uses synthesizers and vibes to create emotive and moving covers from your favorite movies, tv shows and video games. Some of her most well known work was made under her old name, Ace Waters, which includes Covers from Undertale, Zelda, and more. Her music covers a wide range of styles, from ambient mood pieces to progressive synth rock and everything in between."

Moogmoogzela :: Moog x Vuvuzela
YouTube via MoogMusicInc — June 15, 2010 —
"Moog Soccer Hooligans invaded the Moog Sound Lab and developed this secret weapon...coming to a stadium near you."
For those not familiar with the Vuvuzela, it's a plastic horn that has become the signature sound of this year's World Cup in South Africa. Via Wikipedia: "Vuvuzelas have also been blamed for drowning the sound and atmosphere of football games.[8][9] Commentators have described the sound as "annoying" and "satanic"[10] and compared it with "a stampede of noisy elephants",[11] "a deafening swarm of locusts",[12] "a goat on the way to slaughter",[13] and "a giant hive full of very angry bees".[14]
The sound level of the instrument has been measured at 127 decibels[15][4] contributing to football matches with dangerously high sound pressure levels for unprotected ears.[16] A new model, however, announced on 14 June 2010, has a modified mouthpiece which is claimed to reduce the volume by 20 dB.[15]"
Simply put some people love it, most seem to hate it. I remember having one of these when I was a kid in Los Angeles of all places, so it wasn't just a South African thing. Wish I had a Mini back then instead. :)

What is The Vanilla Synthesizer? It's Ready, That's What
via the STG Soundlabs/muSonics Electronic Newsletter:
Is it The Vanilla Synthesizer or the muSonics TVS?
I started working on this project a year and a half ago.
Originally my thought process was to make a new American format synthesiser that could be sold as modules, kits, and bare boards. I was concerned about the future of the format, and I felt a new line of basic modules and infrastructure at a variety of price points was important. I still do.
STG Soundlabs was a failure because I made things that ultimately the eurorack market simply did not want. Yes, I sold some, and will continue to maintain the line as best as I can, but it's very hard to find photos of eurorack installations with STG Soundlabs modules in them, but rare to find a nice big man-sized synthesiser without my modules in it.
Another thing I wanted to do was teach myself how to do my own engineering. It didn't start that way, but it became that way. I'd been a hardware product developer since 2005 but never actually laid out a circuit board. That is no longer true, and I've done things beyond this project that I haven't even talked about.
