Roland SD-35 + SC-88VL | Monkey Island MIDI Disk Playback ( Sony PCM-M10 audio capture )

video upload by Avrilcadabra

"Hi everyone,

Did you ever serve under #generalmidi #Roland This is a Roland SD-35 Sound Canvas, which is a 3.5 inch GM\GS midi player. It can record also but I have not tried that.

The midi out is connected to the midi in of the SC-88vl so we are hearing its sounds.

If you have a SD-35 and wondering why you get NOP errors when trying to listening to a midi file. Try resaving the file as Format 0, make sure the tick rate is something normal like 240 or 480 and most importantly if theres no time signature event you have to add one, I use the software call Sekaiju to do this. It is windows only.

Filmed on a Sony ZV-e10 camera in 4K with a vintage Japanese made Soligor 35mm sawblade lens wide open, which gives the vintage glow.

Audio recorded on a Sony PCM-M10 which was placed in my studio were my head would be when mixing, JBL 305 monitors and a KRK sub.

Music used to demonstrate this vintage gear is The Secret of Monkey Island, by Micheal Land, property of Lucas Arts."

GS Music Bree6 // Small Simple and Sublime

video upload by Starsky Carr

https://www.gsmusic.com/

"Sound is everything... and the GS MUSIC Bree6 doesn't fail to deliver. There's an intangible quality to the tone of their synths. The GS MUSIC e7 bing their first offering, that bowled me off my feet when I first got my hands on it.

This was first announced in NAMM 2024, so it's took a while to get to me - and it was worth the wait. Its a single VCO 6 voice polysynth with a 24dB LP filter and all analog signal path ... so it's in the same ball park as Juno's except this is a VCO, not a DCO, and has a different flavour.

Importantly for a boutique synth manufacturer, this feels great to use - its got a knob per function interface thats so intuitive and easy to navigate you'll be an expert in minutes!"

New Keyboard Version of the GS MUSIC BRee6 // Superbooth 2025

video upload by Starsky Carr

"A nice quick demo of the GS Music Bree6* from the man himself! I've isolated the sounds so you can hear it clearly.

Just a single oscillator plus sub, but how nice is this? I've had a little play with it myself and it sounds gorgeous."

This is the first post to feature the keyboard version. You can find additional posts featuring the desktop version here.

Jungle Influenced IDM w/ Digitakt 2, Octatrack, Digitone, & GS Music e7

video upload by goth jocks

"A jungle/drum and bass inflected IDM jam using the Elektron Digitakt 2, the Digitone (OG), and the GS Music e7 on the lead. All running into the Octatrack for performance FX

First attempt at using the Octatrack as a performance mixer (or anything at all really), so it’s a little choppy. I bought this Octatrack back in October and it’s mostly sat on the shelf since. Even though I’m pretty well versed in a variety of Elektron machines, the Octatrack remains inscrutable. I finally loaded some performance mixer templates by ‪@EZBOT_‬ into it and got cookin. Eventually I’ll explore them more in depth and make modifications, use the live looper, etc… Baby steps!

Also, this jam actually started from a different jam. This one! [below]

One of my fav things to do on the DT2 is copy/paste older projects and turn them into something new"

Not sure what happened at the end. Definitely didn’t mean to completely obliterate it like that"

GS Music e7 - Experiments w/ Multimbrality ft. Source Audio Collider & Digitone

video upload by goth jocks

"I haven’t seen many videos showcasing the multitimbral capabilities of the GS e7, so I figured I’d make one.

Jams 1 & 3 feature sounds only from the e7 (through the Collider). Digitone is only used for sequencing. Jam 2 features Digitone drums & percussion, and the rhythmic bass part. Main bass line is the e7, along with all pad & lead sounds. The Collider is only affecting the e7

All 3 jams feature slightly modified versions of a multitimbral patch I made, so there are some similarities. Variations on a theme if you will

Thanks for listening!"

GS e7 first unit test

video upload by GS Music

"We finally assembled and turned on the first unit of the GS e7.
We were so excited that we hadn't realized that the camera was slightly ou of focus.
There are still some details to keep on working and we are starting the production for the first pre-order batch to be delivered in a few weeks.
We will make more extensive demos once we finish the first batch."
