ER101 & 102 Microtonal Experiment | Modular Mayhem with Colin Benders

video upload by Colin Benders

"Last weekend I was asked to do a full ambient show with no drums, so I got creative with some patch ideas and stumbled upon a feature I had never used before... let's see how deep we can go with this! expect lots of polyphony and wild sequences, things can get crazy today...!

Go ahead and have some fun with the 'Prignalia' stems: https://linktr.ee/colinbenders
You can upload version over there if you want to! _________________________________
Sole but far-from-lonely emperor of a monster 243-module rack, genre-unbound sound explorer, modular mad scientist to the bone, call him whatever you like it’s a fact: Dutch wave-tumbler Colin Benders defies the conventions of so easily tag-slapped electronics as much as his music confronts gravity itself. Untamed and unshackled from today’s main line of tepid production behaviourism, striving in an artistic lane truly his own, Benders has completely veered off the grand street's accepted modus operandi to operate his gear and imagination in utterly innovative fashion.

Having garnered a more than solid experience of the first-hand musician-to-listener experience, Benders keeps on cutting new trails for live electronics, away from drowsy standards and mimetic attitudes. Instead, the Dutch performer pledges to rethink our whole consumption and digestive process of music through lengthy, free-jazz-like momentums to lose your mind and body to. The knowledge and time spent perfecting his craft both apart and before his online audience shines through these patched-up symphonies of boisterous sine-waves, all-engulfing lo-end swells and hair-raising crescendos that have already conquered the likes of Dekmantel, Awakenings, ADE and Berghain. #modularsynth #colinbenders"

Swizzle Circuits - Power Plant USB module

via Swizzle Circuits

Everyone wants a little power, am-I-right? Well that's exactly what we've created - easy USB power in your modular rack to power MIDI keyboards, USB lights, small fans and other things that are a hassle to easily power otherwise. Powered - 6hp (30mm)

I know we all love cables, but enough is enough! Most of the little accessories modular systems need are USB powered, and now there is a way to cut the cabling that goes beyond your rack. Install this slim module in your rack and you can power those pesky USB things such as: MIDI controllers, USB LED lighting for night plays and small USB fans. Put in one at either end of a big system to keep the power handy. There are a few things to keep in mind. Keep the power draw down to about 1000mA total - although the module can provide it, it might not be too kind to your rack power supply (You would be surprised how much power those cheap LED light draw - trust us, we looked!). Not designed or engineered to charge a phone - they make LOTS OF NOISE on the bus!

Just like every Swizzle Circuits module, it comes fully assembled, tested and ready to go. Just take it out of the package and plug it in.

Power Plant USB Module features:

- includes modular power cable. Uses the 12v DC Eurorack supply - no 5V DC needed.

- Fits right in your modular rack to give quick USB power anywhere.

- RED LED power indicator shines through the face to let you know it's ready.

- Both twin USB jacks are back-lit GREEN to help in the dark.

- Provides (2)-twin USB jack plugs for a total of (4).

- Can provide up to 1000mA of 5VDC power - see notes above-.

- Swizzle Circuits custom designed PCB

Morphor ECHON 6 BBD Resonator Synth Now Open for Pre-Orders

Morphor's ECHON 6 pre-orders are now open at Perfect Circuit

Press release follows:

Morphor marks upcoming availability of ECHON 6 as world’s first polysynth based around analogue BBD resonators by announcing opening of pre-orders

GHENT, BELGIUM: having twice turned heads and opened ears thanks to show-stealing showcases at SUPERBOOTH25, May 8-10, FEZ-Berlin, Germany and Machina Bristronica 2025, September 27-28, Bristol, UK, Morphor marks upcoming availability of its eagerly-awaited ECHON 6 — being billed as the world’s first polyphonic synthesizer based around BBD (Bucket-Brigade Delay) resonators, building upon the Belgium-based collective of artists, engineers, and musicians with a passion for creative sound experience and radical acoustic ideas’ illustrious Eurorack expertise in that area as its inaugural standalone (rack-mountable) desktop design — by announcing the opening of pre-orders as of October 23…

As an ANALOGUE POLYPHONIC MULTI-TIMBRAL BBD SYNTHESIZER — helpfully highlighted by the on point wording worked tastefully into its fitting front panel design’s execution, ECHON 6 brings the principals of modal synthesis into the analogue domain. Far from reimagining a digital concept with modern analogue circuitry, it readily redefines how resonance and excitation can interact. And as the world’s first polyphonic synthesizer based around BBD resonators, no less, each of its six voices features a discrete BBD RESONATOR that tracks the keyboard, producing organic overtones and complex harmonic depth. Duly allowing its users to excite those resonators in creative ways, ECHON 6 can generate anything from plucked and bowed strings over leads and basses to big pads and evolving soundscapes. Combining comprehensive multi-timbral capabilities, a 9 x 32 modulation matrix, a full analogue signal path, and a one-knob-per-function approach, ECHON 6 ultimately unites experimental sound design with classic polyphony. Indeed, its architecture invites exploration at every stage of that analogue signal path.

DX7 & D-50 Dream Team | Ep.2 Electric Pianos & Strings

video upload by Espen Kraft

"When using a very transparent type of electric FM piano it can be very cool to have a dense, lush and saturated type of strings/pad underneath, pretty low in the mix.
The D-50 can do very nice thick and dense strings. Much more so than any analog synth which can also be nice, but analog isn't always the better solution.

For the second patch combo I use the TX802 for the more airy, blowing attack type of sound. Usually this is where the D-50 shines with its PCM attack samples, so it was fun to turn it around and create a cinematic timbre with D-50 filling out instead."

Joranalogue Delay-1 Sound Demo (no talking) with Knobula Monumatic, Strymon Magneto and others

video upload by Limbic Bits

0:00 Intro Performance (noise as exciter)
1:54 Delay-1 as Chorus / Phaser
2:46 Karplus Strong Synthesis
3:37 Pulse-modulated Chorus
4:30 Extreme delay settings (glitch)
5:56 Hypnotoad Drone with Noise

"Joranalogue Delay-1 is an all-analog module designed for very short delays (1–50 ms), making it perfect for applications such as chorus, flanging, comb filtering, Karplus–Strong synthesis, and more. Thanks to its flexible array of patch points, it also lends itself well to more experimental uses.

I especially liked the introduction of glitches and artifacts when feeding the delay with an external clock oscillator to enable longer delay times. Of course, a low-pass filter in the signal chain is almost mandatory in that context.

With pristine build quality, great sound, and plenty of creative options, Delay-1 is an intriguing playground for larger modular systems—or for anyone looking to explore Karplus–Strong synthesis in more depth. It works well on its own but truly shines when combined with external signals, modulation, and further processing."

"Andeby" - on Roland SH-2000, Technics SX-C600, and drums

video upload by organfairy

"'Andeby' (the Danish name for 'Duckburg') is a modern lullaby by Tommy Seebach. The title comes from the first line that goes something like "the moon shines over Duckburg" and it's basically a father who wishes for his child that she will dream of fairies, princesses, and her friends from Duckburg.

I play it on my well known combo of the Technics organ and the little Roland synthesizer, and there was also a weird drummer lurking in the dark."

Landscape Noon 1 Year Review

video upload by Bata

"It's been a little over a year of using the Landscape Fm Noon so I figured I would do a review video. There ends up being not that much reviewing done. I just show how I've been using it lately. It's very hard to remember what does what on this thing. Overall I rate the Noon at like a 1/10 or 8/10 depending on what type of synthesist you are. If the parameters for each channel were able to be CV controlled I would rate it a 9/10. It's very fun but challenging and frustrating at times. I view it as equal parts puzzle, game, and instrument. The passive nature of the machine means that you either need to use a lot of mixer/audio interface channels for the separate outs or deal with the signal robbing and channel bleed that comes with the passive mixing to main outs on the unit. As for the price of the unit I think it's somewhat overpriced as you end up needing a lot of other gear to fully use the thing. You can use it with just a 9V battery or basic CV sequencer but it really shines when used with a considerable amount of other equipment. I wouldn't recommend this to synth beginners or people who are sensitive to abrasive sounds but someone with an open mind for electronic experimentation might find it very fulfilling. Thanks for reading/watching!

AN UNEXPECTED PATH FORWARD

Labyrinth introduces a classic West Coast sound into the Mother Ecosystem experience rich analog synthesizer history in both surprising and recognizable sonic textures. Two generative sequencers bring to life sounds that bloom over time, letting you control their evolution and scale, then play them off of each other for striking polymetric melodies.

With parallel analog signal paths, this adventurous instrument shines when adding color to the steady backdrop of a drum pattern or bassline.

GENERATIVE SEQUENCER
The beating heart of Labyrinth is a robust dual sequencer, which uses chance calculations to generate two unique eight-step paths which twist and curve around one another.

SONIC WANDERING
A parallel voice processing path with a voltage-controlled blending allows you to morph sounds over time.

VOLTAGE-CONTROLLED WAVEFOLDER
A fresh interpretation of the Moog sound via a voltage-controlled wavefolder. Two oscillators drive duophonic melodic counterpoints, metallic FM tones, and analog synthetic drums.

Moog's semi-modular lineup expands to include the Labyrinth, a generative synthesizer that brings you two parallel sequencers, two oscillators, and endless possibilities. Based around a core sine VCO and a triangle Mod VCO, these sound sources have independent level controls, as well as a Ring Mod and Noise level control that all feed a saturating mixer that can add a touch or grit. From the mixer, we have the switchable option to go into a voltage controllable wave folder then into a classic Moog filter, the opposite with our filter going into the wave folder, or have both of these run in parallel.

The heart of the Labyrinth is the sequencer section. A dual 8-step sequencer gives you interactive quantized melodies that can affect various parameters, based on the labeled trimmers. These sequencers send out both notes CV and triggers and with a Trig Mix you can get rhythmic interplay that is quite satisfying. Each sequencer has a Length settings and a Bit Shift when adjusts the position of activated steps. The Bit Flip and Corrupt parameters present gives you more randomness and serendipity allowing you to create evolving patterns.

As with all of their semi-modular synths, Moog gives you access to 32 patch point patchbay with 12 outputs and 20 inputs. This gives you the option to self-patch and integrate it into your existing Eurorack ecosystem. Moog's Labyrinth is the perfect expansion to your existing system or a great starting point as an entry to modular synthesis, especially for those who are looking to get expressive rhythmic patterns quickly.

LABYRINTH FEATURES

- Parallel generative analog synthesizer

SEQUENTIAL TRIGON 6 vs OB-6 | No Talking by MeX

video upload by Synth Cloud

"Comparison Between Trigon 6 and OB-6 Synthesizers

The Trigon 6 and the OB-6 are two high-end analog synthesizers that offer unique features and distinctive sounds. The Trigon 6, produced by Sequential, is known for its three-wave oscillator and ladder filter, which provide a rich and warm sound. On the other hand, the OB-6, a collaboration between Sequential and Oberheim, utilizes a classic dual-oscillator design with a state-variable filter, offering a distinctly vintage and versatile sound.

One of the main strengths of the Trigon 6 is its versatility. Equipped with a six-voice architecture, three oscillators per voice, and a four-pole ladder filter, it is ideal for creating complex and layered sounds. The advanced modulation section allows users to experiment with various sound textures, making it perfect for genres ranging from electronic music to ambient.

The OB-6, however, shines for its simplicity and immediacy. With two oscillators per voice and an Oberheim state-variable filter, it offers a sound that is immediately recognizable and nostalgic for 80s enthusiasts. Its intuitive interface allows users to quickly create engaging sounds, making it an excellent choice for live performances and studio productions that require speed and spontaneity.

In terms of connectivity, both synthesizers are well-equipped. The Trigon 6 offers a wide range of MIDI and USB connection options, along with high-quality audio inputs and outputs, facilitating integration into any production setup. The OB-6 is no less, with a wide range of connection options including MIDI, USB, and CV/Gate, making it compatible with a variety of modern and vintage equipment.

Finally, from a design perspective, the Trigon 6 features a modern and robust look, with a user interface that facilitates quick access to various parameters. The OB-6, on the other hand, maintains a more classic and retro appearance, with clearly labeled controls and a layout reminiscent of vintage Oberheim synthesizers. Both synthesizers offer high-quality construction and are designed to last, making them solid investments for any musician or producer."
