Jungle Influenced IDM w/ Digitakt 2, Octatrack, Digitone, & GS Music e7

"A jungle/drum and bass inflected IDM jam using the Elektron Digitakt 2, the Digitone (OG), and the GS Music e7 on the lead. All running into the Octatrack for performance FX

First attempt at using the Octatrack as a performance mixer (or anything at all really), so it’s a little choppy. I bought this Octatrack back in October and it’s mostly sat on the shelf since. Even though I’m pretty well versed in a variety of Elektron machines, the Octatrack remains inscrutable. I finally loaded some performance mixer templates by ​⁠​⁠‪@EZBOT_‬ into it and got cookin. Eventually I’ll explore them more in depth and make modifications, use the live looper, etc… Baby steps!

"A piece created from the rain in Tokyo on  2  May  2025, the ‪@SequentialLLC‬ Prophet‑10, and the ‪@WeAreElektron‬ Digitone. Quiet electronic tones resonate beneath the falling rain.

Rain ambience: Recorded with the built‑in mics on a ‪@TASCAMUSA‬ TASCAM X8.

Prophet‑10: Performed with ‪@strymon‬ blueSky reverb.

Digitone: Routed through ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ LOSSY and the MOOD MK II for additional processing. I tweak sound parameters while playing the keys, and the built‑in sequencer periodically triggers notes.

All instrument audio is captured via an audio interface and recorded in Ableton Live."

Digitone: Controlled via MIDI from the DAW; its parameters are tweaked in real time and processed through the ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ MOOD MK II.

Norns Shield: Using barcode to play sampled piano tones, whose output is reshaped with modulation, reverb, and filtering in ‪@strymon‬ NIGHTSKY.

OP-1 field: A lead synth is performed while adding modulation with the CWO effect and using pitch-bend and octave switches."

"After few weeks working on how to keep the inspiration alive, I've recovered some pieces I know they work with me and here is the result of just about 2 hours of setup, sound design and playing.
Sediment is the name of a great Digitone 2 patch from ‪@substan_music‬ which inspired me to make this conjunction of sounds and melodies that fall by themselves in a natural and not expected way.
Novation Peak and MakeNoise 0-coast make the rest of interesting bells and bloops, processed by OTO Boum as 0-coast filter, all recorded in Ableton through Digitone 2 class compliant mode and its built in FX.
Peak is an incredible machine, very flexible and fully capable and 0-coast a board to experiment with.

GS Music e7 - Experiments w/ Multimbrality ft. Source Audio Collider & Digitone

"I haven’t seen many videos showcasing the multitimbral capabilities of the GS e7, so I figured I’d make one.

Jams 1 & 3 feature sounds only from the e7 (through the Collider). Digitone is only used for sequencing. Jam 2 features Digitone drums & percussion, and the rhythmic bass part. Main bass line is the e7, along with all pad & lead sounds. The Collider is only affecting the e7

All 3 jams feature slightly modified versions of a multitimbral patch I made, so there are some similarities. Variations on a theme if you will

Nature ambient music with synths feat. Lines script

"Lines is a beautiful Norns script which is very random but so beautiful in its randomness. The combination with the Makenoise 0-coast, Digitone 2 and some birds in the background results something very natural, meditative and linked with the forest.
I found Digitone 2 is even better than the OG version, adding virtual analog tones with so much texture and character. In this case the music flows by itself with nothing prerecorded except the birds. .
I love the way 0-coast reacts by its random oscillator and provides those spontaneous sounds like bugs and birds. Project (2024 p32)

"Double OS delight is coming to the Digi IIs! Digitakt II and Digitone II are both leveling up to version 1.10, sharing a bunch of features while picking up some fresh new tricks along the way. Let’s dive into some of the standouts, but be sure to check the release notes for a full feature list.

Digitakt II is receiving the Comb+ filter from Digitone II, adding this metallic flavor to your filter options. Mono sampling makes its return, joining stereo sampling and offering greater flexibility when capturing sound. Routable overdrive distortion and base-width filter now lets you decide whether they come before or after your various filter alternatives. Keytrack modulation also jumps over from Digitakt II’s younger sibling.

Digitone II brings Chord Mode on board, more powerful than ever, and with various modes and Chord Memory to maximize your harmonic flexibility. Overbridge streaming is now possible, allowing multi-track audio streaming straight to your computer (the rest of Overbridge for Digitone II is in beta testing and coming soon). You can also do lots more with the Arpeggiator, rotating the offsets for new melodic sequences as well as gaining new arp speeds to experiment with.

"Castlevania 'Vampire Killer' (NES) performed on an Elektron Digitone II. A true-to-the-original version that then evolves into some kind of DN2 jam.

The first four tracks are 1:1 maps of the four NES channels, providing basic waveforms. For the jam, the remaining tracks are used.

The Castlevania OST for the Nintendo Education System (NES) was composed in 1986 by Kinuyo Yamashita."
