Oberheim TEO-5 vs OB-6 demo track | Sequential Take 5 demo custom sounds
video upload by Infested Alien
"Since I scratched my head if TEO-5 is analogue enough to be filling up an entire track I just had to make a rough track for each synth. My conclusion is that TEO-5 really makes a modern feel but lacks the richness from OB-6. So in my conclusion I will stick with OB-6 and perhaps in future an OBX8 for the bread and butter sounds and TEO-5 for the a bit special ones."

MOON Part 2 - Ambient Modular #19 // Subharmonicon, Rings, Take 5, Juno, Analog Four
video upload by David Falcon
"Parte dos de dos de esta mini serie. Misma secuencia en el @MoogSynthesizers Subharmonicon pero con un arreglo completamente diferente.
En este he a帽adido un par de elementos en post, ya que en la segunda parte necesitaba un peque帽o empuj贸n el tema. Para ello he usado el @SequentialLLC Take 5 y la emulaci贸n del Juno de @ArturiaOfficial .
Muy contento con el resultado.
Espero que esta comparativa os haya resultado interesante.

Part two of two of this mini series. Same sequence in the Moog Subharmonicon but with a completely different arrangement.
In this I have added a couple of elements in the post, since in the second part the topic needed a little push. For this I have used Sequential Take 5 and Arturia's Juno emulation.
Very happy with the result.
I hope you found this comparison interesting."

Oberheim TEO-5 & Sequential Take 5 Desktop Modules - demo & history presentation | 30 July 2025
video upload by Signal Sounds
https://www.signalsounds.com/ - don't miss Signal Sounds' Summer Sale!
"On Wednesday, 30th July 2025, we welcomed synth wizard and long-time friend of the store Chris ‘-CALC-’ Calcutt to our showroom for a masterclass on all things Sequential and Oberheim.
He provided insight into the culture and history of both companies, as well as what makes their instruments a feature in so many studios and live rigs worldwide. These iconic brands - founded by Dave Smith and Tom Oberheim, respectively - have been at the forefront of analogue synthesiser design for half a century, and they’re currently both going stronger than ever, with new desktop versions of the affordable Oberheim TEO-5 and Sequential Take 5 polysynths hitting the market. Chris spoke about both instruments’ illustrious heritage and explained just what makes each one sound so unique."

The Joy of Adding A Compact Analog Synthesizer To Your Setup
video upload by EZBOT
"In this video, I explore the pure joy of adding a compact analog synthesizer to a modern Elektron setup. Pairing the Digitakt II and Digitone II with the Sequential Take 5 desktop unlocks a whole new level of warmth, depth, and character. I’ll show you how this small but powerful analog poly integrates seamlessly with your grooveboxes, bringing lush pads, punchy basslines, and expressive leads into your workflow without sacrificing portability. If you’ve been wondering whether an analog synth can really elevate your hybrid setup, this video will show you exactly why it’s worth it."

"This is certainly one of the best, if not the best sounding synth I have ever owned, but I just put a lot of money into getting it back in tip top shape and decided its time to modernize my gear.
"This is certainly one of the best, if not the best sounding synth I have ever owned, but I just put a lot of money into getting it back in tip top shape and decided its time to modernize my gear.
This P5 has been worked on by DFX and Analog Lab:
Analog Lab:
Replaced main ribbon cable
Key contacts cleaned and adjusted
Reseated power connectors
Smoothing caps replaced and repaired
DFX:
New power cable installed
New pots installed where needed
Wood side panel repair
Decoupling capacitors replaced
So...
There it is, quite a bit of work to get this thing back on line and now its set for years of use. All voice chips are in great shape too, which is probably the most important part of the entire synth since those are practically irreplaceable. While I have enjoyed having such a neat piece of gear around, the costs to repair it caught up to me and I think it belongs with someone who can continue to take care of it, whether that means having a good tech of their own or being able to do maintenance themselves when it needs it.
As for now, it is in tech certified working condition!"

Hurray... Take 5 and TEO 5 Desktop Units
video upload by Starsky Carr
TEO 5 announced here
"The Take 5 and Teo-5 from Sequential and Oberheim make fantastic desktop units. They feel like they were made for this form factor - no compromises, simply great sounding synths in a high quality enclosure. The keyboard versions may have felt lacking in keys (even though they have a great keybed) - just a bit too short for some. I found it was quite handy having one that could fit on my rack! But with these the only decision you have to make is which one is best for you.
Luckily I'm here to confuse you further (they both sound great)! The decision will be whether you prefer the Oberheim or Sequential style of VCO programming, the filters, and the X-Mod/FM. And these just so happen to be the bits I look at in this :)"
