"A piece where looping glockenspiel phrases and evolving tape-loop sound textures gradually transform over time.

Created using ‪@NordKeyboards‬ Nord Lead, ‪@teenageengineering‬ OP-1 field, and tape loops.

The Nord Lead is connected to ‪@strymon‬ blueSky for reverb. One channel sustains a continuous tone, while the other two channels perform abstract melodic lines.

On the OP-1 field, a glockenspiel phrase is looped using the ENDLESS sequencer, with the built-in delay and reverb applied.

The tape loop contains a recorded piano performance. The playback speed of the tape player is reduced to half-speed, then processed through ‪@ChaseBliss‬ LOST+FOUND for reverb and delay, with parameters actively manipulated to shape the texture."

Here's my latest concoction from the studio featuring the Rhodes EK10 MKIII, ‪@NordKeyboards‬ Stage 4, ‪@KorgOfficial‬ miniKORG 700fs, ‪@ArturiaOfficial‬ Polybrute, Hohner Clavinet E7 and ‪@MoogSynthesizers‬ Minitaur. The Rhodes is going through the ‪@rhodesmusic‬ V-Pan plugin during most of the tune, with the solo section using a Line 6 Echo Park and ElectroHarmonix C0ckfight wah-wah pedal. The Nord is using "Swiss Lead" from J3PO's Nord Stage patches ‪@iamj3po‬ . The Clav is going through the Electroharmonix C0ckfight pedal as well. I programmed all drums and used Addictive Drums 2. Enjoy!"

Set against field recordings captured in snowy streets of Sapporo, electric piano and synthesizer sounds emerge and fade away, forming an ambient electronica composition.

The Prophet-10 is used to play synth pads, processed with reverb and delay via ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ LOST+FOUND.

Two tape loops are used. One contains a one-minute recording of an electric piano performance, while the other plays field recordings from the streets of Sapporo. The electric piano tape is played back on a ‪@WeAreRewind1‬ cassette player and processed with delay using ‪@strymon‬ TIMELINE. The field recording tape is played on a Rock & Play cassette player, with the pitch lowered and further processed through ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ MOOD MKII, where reverb and layered micro-loops deepen the pitch and texture.

The Moog One and Nord Lead are occasionally played to add synth pads. The Nord Lead is processed with reverb via ‪@gfisys‬ Specular Tempus.

The CP88 plays a Rhodes sound, layering simple phrases with its built-in reverb and delay."

"This piece was created using the ‪@teenageengineering‬ OP-1 field, ‪@NordKeyboards‬ Nord Lead, ‪@YamahaSynthsOfficial‬ RX17, MU15, and MOTIF-RACK ES. It combines rhythm machine beats, melodies made from sampled vocals of 重音テト Kasane Teto SV, and live bass performance.

On the OP-1 field, the sampler contains Kasane Teto’s voice, which is used to create melodic phrases. At certain points, looping is applied through the NTS-3, and the signal is processed with the ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ MOOD MKII.

The RX17 rhythm machine is recorded with an ALESIS 3630 compressor applied.

On the MU15, synth sounds are performed using its built-in keyboard, with reverb added via the blueSky.

The Nord Lead plays melodic parts in the middle section of the piece, processed through the ‪@gfisys‬ Specular Tempus for delay.

The bass is recorded through a SANSAMP Bass Driver DI, routed directly into the audio interface for a clean yet warm tone."

The Nord Lead, when set to Pelle mode, produces an unusually aggressive tone. Its output passes through the ‪@strymon‬ NightSky for reverb and filtering.

On the OP-1 field, a 16-bar synth loop was recorded and played back at a slower tape speed, layering additional sounds during performance. The output is processed through the ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ Lossy to achieve a lo-fi texture.

How to Enable Pelle Mode on the Nord Lead 1

1.Set Program A to 19 and Program B to 65.
2.Hold down SYSTEM, then press SHIFT.
3.While keeping both buttons held, press SET, then press PERF. MODE.
(Keep SYSTEM and SHIFT held the entire time.)

If you hear a clicking sound, Pelle Mode has been successfully activated.
If the program number displays 75, the attempt failed — this happens when CLEAR is pressed instead of SET."

In the small Intellijel modular case, the ‪@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC‬ Morphagene plays back recorded piano sounds, with additional reverb added via a Clouds clone.

In the 7U Intellijel case seen on the right side of the screen, the Instruō Cs-L is processed through QPAS and Mimeophon for filtering and delay effects.

This year in Tokyo the heat has been relentless, and opportunities to hear cicadas have become scarce.

On the TENORI-ON, I switch blocks to morph the phrase. It’s routed through ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ MOOD MK II for delay, pitch-shifting, and occasional micro-loops.

The wavestick is pitch-controlled by using the ‪@KORG_INC‬ SQ-1 in STEP JUMP mode as a CV keyboard. Its output runs into ‪@strymon‬ NIGHTSKY for reverb and delay.
