"During the Digiscore Workshop at the Central Conservatory of Music, where I was invited by Professor Ken Fields, I engaged in a conversation with everyone about musical scores and instruments. We explored the relationship between musical instruments and people, as well as the dual-natured thinking that Trent and I condensed in our musical instrument work, "Horizon." The students at the Conservatory posed many constructive questions, and I truly enjoyed the intellectual exchange with everyone. "I did not use any external FX in the demo, no layers, no loopers, etc. All the delays and reverbs are part of the Microkorg-2 engine. My presets are single-timbre so you don’t lose your 8-voice polyphony. The presets come as computer files in 'mk2prog' format. Just load them into the Microkorg-2 by using its flash drive feature (boot your Microkorg-2 in 'disk mode', and when it appears as a new disk drive you can just open / explore it and copy + paste the files). You will have the freedom to import my presets into Bank CLASSIC or MODERN or FUTURE or USER on your Microkorg 2."

"A simple but interesting song not much known by the early days of The Human League V2 (when the female vocalists joined). If you don't know the original version, check it out. I found it catchy, specially the chorus. So I decided to pick my two analogues plus the JP8000 and give it a try

Roland MRS2 Promars: single VCO bass (and extra sub bass on backtrack)
Roland JP8000: Cross Mod lead
Right:
Korg Polysix: Sawtooth lead

Backtrack previously recorded, instrument by instrument, on Pro Tools (just drums and the extra sub bass, plus a JX-8P on final pads).

"Last 'long' video before a summer break (I'll be eventually uploading some 'Shorts' during July 😉)

It's been quite some time that I didn't make a "from scratch" video, so here we go again! (See all my "From scratch" videos) [embed below]

On the setup side on the sequencer (Keystep Pro), before recording:
I defined the tempo and number of bars of each track
I setup the scale (Dorian)
I setup the tracks I wanted to be transposed in real-time (tracks 2 = Minitaur and 3 = Streichfett).

The video starts with the recording on Track 2, of the BASS line (Moog - Minitaur), then on Track 3 the CHORDS/STRINGS (Waldorf - Streichfett), on Track 1 the DRUMS (Sonic Potions x Erica Synths - LXR-02), on Track 4 the ARP (Dreadbox - Nymphes + Strymon Timeline delay).
I recorded part of the DRUMS in real-time, and the KICK in step mode (hence being able to setup randomness on some steps and conditions too, i.e. the step plays on the fourth time it's triggered only...)"

Mörser takes the wildest analogue synth filter from the the EDP Wasp, and dials up the noise, grit and chaos to 11. In stereo.

Mörser is a stereo filter with low pass, band pass, independent resonance and shared cutoff (and CV). There’s distortion outputs for some extra gnarl, and a clocks digital noise source, hardwired to both the inputs and the CV.

This video explores the basic sounds and functions paired with an analogue VCO. I’ll share a video next week with some more creative patching and different sound sources."
