Matryomin

"Matryomin is the unique, original erectronic musical instrument invented by Masami Takeuchi in 1999. It is a type of theremin - oldest electro-musical instrument invented in Russia - shaped Russian traditional wooden doll, Matrioshka.

It hold form of Matrioshka perfectly, moreover, performing five octaves range. The distance of 1 octave at Low-Middle range is equal to Etherwavetheremin of Moog Music Inc. If you have acquired the basic technique to play theremin by Etherwavetheremin, you can enjoy playing Matryomin by same way. Matryomin is only pitch controlled theremin.

Mandarin Electron, a company directed by Masami Takeuchi, started manufacturing Matryomin on a commercial basis in 2003. Now, Matryomin is going on 2nd generation model. Selled over 1,600 till now in Japan"

You can find videos, samples and another image on Masami TAKEUCHI's official website.

"GX-1のチューニングです。非常にややこしい。this is hwo to adjust tune on GX-1, so crazy. You have to adjust every over tone, and there are 8 sound boards on teach raw on upper and lower. There is only one for solo, two for pedal.
Once either Upper or Lower start having problem of unstable tune, you need to correct on eacy over tone with checking which sound board has problem."

Life in Balance on the Moog Synth

Steve Sciulli of Life In Balance talks about his Moog. "When I play the Moog [synthesizer], there's such a deep-rooted connection for people that it brings up memories and possibilities," he continues. "I'm physically playing electricity. With a guitar, you always know what that's going to sound like, but with a synth, you're not only playing music, you're recreating the sound every time you power it up."

"MOOG VOCODER - as used on many Monty Python productions

The Gear Garage is very proud to be presenting a fine collection of Monty Python Equipment in very good condition, well looked after and featured on many famous recordings with a unique heritage.

The Moog Vocoder we have here is recognisable from their recording of 'Here comes another one.'

Besides from being a superb and rare instrument it is a piece of history unlike any other. Anyone looking to buy such an article may consider this as an investment as well as a creative tool. Very likely to gain in value on both counts. NOW WITH ORIGINAL MANUAL!

Works perfectly. Good Condition."

Vector Surgeon 1.0

"Hello, good evening, and welcome to Vector Surgeon, the Prophet VS editor/librarian.

What The Program Does
The program currently performs the following functions:
* Transmit and receive patches, singly or in banks, between your computer and your Prophet.
* Load and save patches, singly or in banks, between your computer and its disk drive.
* Transmit and receive banks of waves between your computer and your Prophet.
* Load and save banks of waves between your computer and its disk drive.
* Graphically view banks of patches, allowing copy & paste etc in the same window or between windows.
* Graphically view patches, allowing edits of most parameters.
* Edits of parameters are sent live to the Prophet, in theory keeping computer & Prophet in sync.
* For a nice surprise, turn on MIDI parameter transmit, then do some edits on the Prophet and watch the computer screen.

What The Program Does Not Do
The program does not currently perform the following functions:

* Editing or single transfer of user waves. Sorry. Soon, though.
* Er...
* That's it. Maybe you can find more things it doesn't do :-)"

Cell Phone Synth

spotted this one on modd3d. You can see a video of it here.
"The cell phone piano. Each key on the keyboard is wired into a key on a cell phone - as you play, you are also dialing. The channels are mixed together and amplified through speakers. Every sound the piano makes is generated by one of the four phones. The white keys play notes and the black keys are people saying the number out loud - English on the left hand and Spanish on the right. Some white keys were left over and I made those percussion instruments (the "*", "END", and "#" keys)."

Auction includes:
Tellun PCB - out of production / no longer available
Stooge mounting bracket
PCB Stand Offs
Jacks and Pots (Pots are Alpha and not the more exspensive Bourns or Spectrol. One of the Pots will need to have it's shaft cut tomatch the others)
All board mouted components including CEM 3320 (Which sell for $40.00!)
Black mounting screws (to mount your panel in to MOTM style rails)
IC Sockets
Wire - Including shielded audio for the
Solder - both organic and no clean
MOTM Power cable
Tellun User's Guide, and schematics - which can be found online here

This was never offered as a kit (well not to my knowledge anyway). I put this together as a kit - That's to say that it's not a kit offered by Tellun Industries."

everything = esx. sample kits are custom as well as the synth waveforms. a decent trick; run a pad or lead through all three chains of pitchshifter to build a chord. resample that chord at a root note or two and save it. also gives the 'supersaw' sound if u use it on a good saw wave."

Propellerhead Software supports the Bob Moog Foundation

via Propellerhead Software:
"Bob Moog helped moving electronic music from obscure university laboratories into the realm of popular music and for that we all owe a lot to his legacy. Innovations such as the Minimoog have in many ways shaped the sound of today's music and have inspired both musicians and other manufacturers to push electronic music instruments further and further ahead.

When Bob Moog passed away in August 2005, his family established the Bob Moog foundation dedicated to the advancement of electronic music and in his memory. The goals of the Moog foundation are, in their own words:
'The mission of The Bob Moog Foundation is to document, celebrate and teach innovative thinking and to support and honor the legacy of synthesizer pioneer Bob Moog. Our four long range goals are: scholarship, outreach programs, unique community events and a Bob Moog Museum.'

Propellerhead Software have decided to support the Bob Moog foundation by a donation and to help raise the awareness about the Foundation and Robert Moog's legacy among Reason users. To achieve the latter, we have released a Moog-inspired ReFill, created by a team of experienced synthesists. The ReFill is free to download for all Reason users and we encourage anyone who uses the ReFill to donate to the foundation.

About the Moog Foundation ReFill
Industry pro's (and Reason experts), Craig Anderton, Mark Vail and Gordon Reid donated their best Moog-style patches, built using Reason's Thor synthesizer. The intent is to shed some light onto the world of music synthesis that Bob Moog pioneered. Those patches have been assembled into a single Reason ReFill and are available to registered Reason version 4 owners.
How to help support Bob Moog's memory

To make the Foundation's goals a reality, the Moog Foundation is in need of financial support, both from companies like Propellerhead Software and from musicians like you. Even if you have never used or owned a Moog synthesizer, each time you use a sawtooth waveform in Thor you are in fact using part of Moog's legacy. To donate, please visit the Moog Foundation's donation page."

You can find the ReFill download and a letter from Michelle Moog-Koussa here.

I have just saved up enough to have Tony Allgood at Oakley Sound get it restored to nearly good as new and it arrived back on Sunday. The sound is amazing, the sweepable waveshape oscillators sound incredible when theyre halfway between shapes and the sample & hold is to die for. I've taken some careful closeups and put them on the Formication Flickr page along with some shots of our Analog Solutions modded tr-606 and a few more shots of the ubiquitous notron"

Nodal

"Nodal is a generative software application for composing music. It uses a novel method for the notation and playing of MIDI based music. This method is based around the concept of a user-defined graph. The graph consists of nodes (musical events) and edges (connections between events). You interactively define the graph, which is then traversed by any number of players who play the musical events as they encounter them on the graph. The time taken to travel from one node to another is based on the length of the edges that connect the nodes.

Nodal is free software available for Mac OS X based computers.

Working with Nodal

Nodal does not make any sound by itself – it only generates MIDI data. You will need a MIDI synthesiser to hear the output that Nodal is making. Nodal is compatible with any MIDI synthesiser. For simple demonstrations we recommend SimpleSynth.
Nodal will also work with Apple's GarageBand software."

littleBits

littleBits intro from ayah bdeir on Vimeo.
"littleBits is an opensource library of discrete electronic components pre-assembled in tiny circuit boards. Just as Legos allow you to create complex structures with very little engineering knowledge, littleBits are simple, intuitive, space-sensitive blocks that make prototyping with sophisticated electronics a matter of snapping small magnets together. With a growing number of available modules, littleBits aims to move electronics from late stages of the design process to its earliest ones, and from the hands of experts, to those of artists, makers and designers."
