Rare Russian Analog Synth ALISA 1387 w/Case

via this auction

video below

"Russian monophonic analog synth ALISA 1387. It has a 3-octave keyboard, a modulation wheel, control knobs and regulators. The process of synthesis is performed with the 2 OSCs, 1 sub oscillator, noise generator, filter with ADSR, 1LFO, and wide range of modulation functions. The synthesizer plays a stable keyboard pitch thanks to quartz stabilization of oscillators.

ALISA consists of 7 main sections - OSCILLATORS (called TONE GENERATORS), MIXER, FILTER with ADSR (called FILTER CONTOUR), AMPLIFIER ADSR (SIGNAL CONTOUR), and OUTPUT section.
OSCILLATORS section has three subgroups - OSC 1-2 (called GENERATOR 1 and 2), and REGISTER (waveshape). Their parameters are the following:
- osc1: waveshape switch (pulse, saw, and square - can run simultaneously!), pulse width modulation (wave forms 1 and 2) levels;
- osc2: waveshape (saw/square), sync interval, sync on/off;
- register: 8'', 16'', 32'' and subharmonic; next - portamento on/off, level and global tuning.
MIXER section - osc's 1-2 levels, noise generator level.
FILTER - cutoff, resonance, filter vibrato, key follow.
FILTER CONTOUR - attack, decay, sustain release (called amplitude) also switched on/off.
SIGNAL CONTOUR - attack, decay, sustain (only on/off), release.
OUTPUT - main volume level, power on/off.
MODULATION section(left from keyboard) - mod depth wheel, mod purpose - osc/filter, waveform switch - saw/square, rate (called tempo).

On the rear panel, the CONNECTION plugs are located:
- line out plug;
- power source - 220V/50Hz, cord plug, fuse;
- external run - CV/GATE control plug on/off switch;
- phones out (located below Modulation section)
It runs on 220V AC (US customers will need an adaptor).

After the end of the auction, the buyer will receive a full set, which is shown here on pics: ALISA 1387, POWER CORD, FULL SCHEMATIC SET, ORIGNAL USER MANUAL, ENGLISH FRONT PANEL TRANSLATION, 5 DIN TO 1/4 JACK INSTRUMENT CABLE ADAPTER, FUSES!"

It shows how to set the length to a 4 step pattern, a 2 step pattern, a 5 step pattern and 7 step pattern.

This also demonstrates the magic of a tb303 - as it never really deletes pitch data"

"This instrumental piece is an exploration of the sound flexibility of the Spektrumsynth, an instrument that I built using Reaktor software. See the Spektrumsynth video and Spektrumsynth Tutorial video for a more detailed description of the instrument. I have made a couple of modifications since the making of these original videosl, if you look closely: I packed the LFOs into a pull-down menu, saving on display space by only showing one at a time, although they are all functioning simultaneously. I was able to add some modules that were available on the earlier version, but hidden on the "B" display pane. I hope that you like the music."

Health Club Boomin Analog Drum Synth

via this auction

"This is a super-cool Boomin Analog Drum made by Health Club Music.
It is based on the Roland TR-808 Bass Drum, but with much more control over the types of sounds it can make.
It can be triggered by the onboard pad or an external source like a microphone, drum pad, or any sound source.
This particular Boomin can reach self-oscillation when the decay is turned up all the way."

ROLAND JP-8000

via this auction
"Manufacturer Description
The JP-8000 Music Synthesizer has been designed using a first-of-its-kind Roland Analog Modeling sound source, combining the fat, powerful sounds associated with vintage analog synths with the flexibility of digital technology and MIDI. Like the classic Roland analog synths of the past, the JP-8000 sports a collection of 38 front-panel knobs and sliders for powerful real-time control, opening a brand new world of sonic possibilities. Innovative "Motion Control" feature memorizes all sequential slider and knob movements, ensuring that a great real-time "tweak" will not be lost. "Analog" synth functions like oscillator sync, ring modulation, -12/-24 dB filtering, cross modulation, an assignable ribbon controller and powerful pitch bend/modulation lever make the JP-8000 a very powerful synthesizer for live and studio use!"

RMI DK-20 Digital Keyboard Synthesizer

via this auction

Shots of the inside below.

"Well here's something that you don't get to see everyday! This is an extremely rare specimen of one of the actual first digital keyboards sample type machine made. This is an R.M.I. DK-20 Digital Keyboard. These came about in 1979 and were only made till 1980. So, for only one year these were made!

This machine is equipped with 4 EEPROM IC's similar to what you find in Oberhiem, 360 Systems, and Sequential Circuits instruments. These EEPROM's hold the instruments Timbre's (voices). These voices can be selected via the 4 yellow buttons located in the Timbre section. There's also a "Preset" section that includes: Tine, Clav, Lute, Jaw, Fazor, and Piano along with a variation of each one preset as well. These presets are of course, dependent upon the EEPROM chip set as well. You also have a whole set of phaser effects, three modifiers, a mixer section for each one of the Timbres, Vibrato with switches for rate, TRS control (a kind of mild ring modulator). It also comes with a mono output, and separate bass and treble outputs for stereo connection or running effects on different sides of the instrument. You can also hook up a standard sustain pedal. It also comes with very sturdy steel fold-up legs that are attached to the unit. and a cover that snaps to the top to keep it covered when not in use. There's also a simple sheet music stand.

This machine is FULLY FUNCTIONING!! 100%. Cosmetically I'd give it an 8 out of 10. There is a few scratches here and there which you can expect along with an engraving on the left side of the key-cover for a school system this once belonged to dated 1981-'82. The machine was made previous to this but this is when the school owned it. The inside is immaculate and completely free of dust."

Pro Tools 9 Goes Native

I try to limit posts to synths only, but I'll make an exception for this. Pro Tools has finally gone native. Video below.

"The Next Generation of Pro Audio Production

Open yourself to the possibilities. Pro Tools 9 redefines the world’s most popular, most advanced music and audio production platform with a completely re-architected, open version of Pro Tools software, giving you what you asked for—and so much more.

Work with an audio interface—or without. Create bigger, better-sounding mixes with more tracks, Automatic Delay Compensation, and other pro features included as standard. Open your workflow to projects created in other audio and video software—and to the entire Avid Artist Series and Pro Series (formerly Euphonix) console/controller line. With Pro Tools 9, you can compose, record, sequence, edit, and mix the way you want—in more ways than ever.

Work the way you want
Get the flexibility of using Pro Tools 9 with your favorite Avid audio interface or third-party Core Audio- or ASIO-compatible interface—or use Pro Tools 9 completely standalone for easy on-the-go creation.

Create bigger, better mixes
Develop larger, more complex projects, with up to 96 or 192* simultaneous audio tracks, 128 instrument tracks, 512 MIDI tracks, 256 internal busses, and 160 aux tracks. See all track specifications.

Be more creative with coveted professional tools
Work efficiently and get the best sonic results with Automatic Delay Compensation, multitrack Beat Detective, full Import Session Data dialog, DigiBase Pro, and other separately priced add-ons—now standard.

Collaborate with others more easily
Team up with other creators, editors, and mixers easily—with built-in OMF/AAF/MXF file interchange support, you can exchange projects created in other audio and video software with Pro Tools and vice-versa.

Get more options to grab hold of your mix
Along with C|24 and ICON*, you can now use Avid Artist Series and Pro Series consoles and controllers to enhance your editing and mixing workflow, thanks to added EUCON integration.

Work with picture in more ways
Expand your post production capabilities with powerful features now included as standard, such as the Time Code Ruler, OMF/AAF/MXF interchange, variable stereo pan depths, and updated 7.1 surround panner*.

Boost your power with Complete Production Toolkit 2

Tom Oberheim SEM Pro!

"Geoff Farr of GSF Agency has taken over exclusive distribution of Tom Oberheim's new SEM product line. There is a new one, the SEM Pro, shown here playing beautifully with a Moog CP-251. The Pro combines the best features of both the MIDI and patchable versions, and includes Tom's personal signature on the front.
I had a lot of fun messing around with this prototype during testing, and I can honestly say that this pair is a killer combo!

Musikladen - Massive Classic Synth Spotting Vids

This one in via swissdoc. Videos below. There are quite a few, so if you are viewing this post on the main page, click on the "Click for more" link below.

"This is about a German TV Show from the past, called "Musikladen". Currently they repeat the whole lot, good for Synth-Spotting (and more) -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musikladen

Synth-wise they have lots of acts using Synths on the show, mostly they use their own synths on Stage, in other cases, they use the varying "resident" synths, basically a set of 2 MS-20 side by side or a 3-set from ARP (polyphonic (strings or piano), monophonic, sequencer.
