Holiday Jam with ParipiDestroyer, KORG volca modular, beats, kick & Kaoss Pad KP3+

Shangri-la S

"Holiday Jam with ParipiDestroyer, KORG volca modular, beats, kick & Kaoss Pad KP3+

Hi friends! I played a brand new micro synth "ParipiDestroyer" produced by DigiLogTokyo's sub-brand "Crazy Synth Kids". This cute and very tiny synthesizer provides intense bass sounds despite its cute looks. Paripi is the meaning of "Party People" This is so dope!
How you play is up to you. It is a size that you can carry anytime and anywhere in a real sense.
In this video, I also used KORG volca modular, kick, beats and Kaoss Pad KP3+."

KORG Introduces the SQ-64 Polyphonic Sequencer

Korg

Playlist:

1. “Step Up” with the SQ-64 Polyphonic Sequencer
2. Korg’s SQ-64 Polyphonic Sequencer: A Brief Overview
3. KORG SQ-64 Review and full tutorial - leploop

"There's nothing that offers the combination of CV control, MIDI & Audio sync, and polyphonic multitrack sequencing that Korg’s SQ-64 does. Compact as it may be, it gives you three tracks, each with dedicated Pitch, Mod, and Gate output, plus a fourth Drum-Sub track with a total of 16 triggers; eight gates and eight over MIDI. Each of the 64 step buttons uses graduated LEDs to show you exactly what's going on in your track, and a crisp OLED screen gives you an at-a-glance look at details. It's all packed into a rugged aluminum case roughly an inch thick for durability and portability - every step of the way"

via KORG:

"The SQ-64 is an incredibly powerful and compact Polyphonic Step Sequencer with amazing hands-on intuitive controls and deep editing options to give you all the flexibility and sequencing power needed for all your musical projects. With its 64 step pad Matrix, Crystal clear OLED display, sturdy and elegant aluminium body, a wealth of connections and a variety of modes and features, the SQ-64 will become the central piece of your music studio providing total and seamless control over all your instruments so you can focus on what matters most; your music!

Despite its compact size, the SQ-64 has unparalleled connectivity and will allow you to easily control, connect and make the most of all your analog and digital gear. MIDI IN (x1) and OUT (x2), micro USB type B, Sync IN & OUT, 3 Melody tracks each with MODULATION, PITCH and GATE outputs and a DRUM track with 8 individual trigger outputs for controlling analog synths, Eurorack, and drum machines.

Each of the Melody tracks (x3) has 16 Patterns of up to 64 steps each, and the Drum track (x1) has 16 Sub-tracks also with up to 64 steps each, that can be played, chained and edited in a variety of ways.

Melody tracks and patterns can be edited in several modes (GATE, PITCH and MODULATION) so you can alter the information sent by your sequencer on each of these steps in many interesting ways.

The DRUM track outputs can be fine-tuned to match the polarity and voltage of your connected device(s). Its audio Sync In & Out connections will allow you to seamlessly control all your other Korg gear such as the volca synthesizer series, minilogue, monologue, minilogue xd, prologue and many others!

Whether you are into Analog synths, Eurorack semi-modular synths, Digital drum machines, or do everything on your DAW with digital plugins, the SQ-64 will give you instant and precise hands-on control of each and all of these.

The SQ-64 has 64 beautifully LED-lit Step button pads that not only let you see the whole picture at once, but also allow for super-fast and satisfactory editing with its encoder knobs and dedicated mode buttons that will simplify and speed up your workflow. Each step has graduated lighting; the higher the modulation value, the stronger the button lights up to give you a clear visual on what’s going on in the sequence.

The OLED Display is crystal clear, bright and visible from any angle, so you can have access to all the information you need no matter whether you are making music at home, in the studio or playing live!

The 3 melody tracks include a MODULATION output, so every step on your sequence can be creating complex modulations on your gear of choice, greatly expanding your options and possibilities for sound creation. It has never been easier to create polyphonic chords patterns, melodies, complex poly-rhythms and modulations on the fly and record them as data on each of the 64 project slots available.

REAL-TIME CONTROL

The SQ-64 won’t just allow you to create incredible sequences; it packs several features and modes that will let you edit on the fly and play any of your gear real-time.

The 64 pad Matrix can be also be used as a Keyboard, allowing for several layouts to be used for maximum flexibility (several scales can be assigned to any of these and a number of other parameters can be easily changed)

BURG Session Template 04

"If you like my music you can find it here http://bit.ly/BurgMusic and also please consider supporting me at patreon for as little as 1 USD http://bit.ly/BurgPatreon

---

Hey there everyone!

Continuing my plans for 2020 and 2021 and the writing my new album, with this i will be posting template jam sessions to YouTube from which I will base and recreate the final tracks. These jam sessions are in no way finalised tracks, but you will be able to hear the main ideas before i start fine tuning the details.

If you join my patreon there will be behind the scenes materials, bonus tracks, stems, sound packs from these sessions and also a possibility to remix the future shortlist single for my release. You will be able to follow the creation of the entire album from idea to final product.

http://bit.ly/BurgPatreon

Track info:

Session 04 is a 118bpm break beat style track, this as I wanted to get away from the four on the floor spell. I spent a lot of time randomizing sequences and patterns, modulating stuff in the eurorack with Pam´s and Planar2, e.g Braids, BIA, Plonk, Furthrrrr, white noise from 1U noise tools and the 3xVCO chords so this tune almost plays itself. This was great for the jam which allowed the tune to breathe in-between sections just keeping the groove going while planning the next part.

I am also with this track breaking free from a writers block which has kept me from making any new stuff for the upcoming album for a couple of weeks... yeah, im free.. for now :)

Have a listen and join me on the ride! :) cheers!

Crazy Chain - the Daisy Chain power cable reinvented. Power Korg Volcas guitar effect pedals + more!

myVolts

"At myVolts, we're always trying to make life simpler. Have you ever wanted to carry less power supplies around? Do you rather not have "spare ends" from your daisy chain cable? Does it not have the correct tip for your synthesizer?

We hope to solve those problems, with our stylish DC power cable solution.

You can select the Tip size, polarity or chain link length to allow the right set up for your pedalboard, your synth stand, or where ever you'd like your life to be a little less complicated.

In this video, Luke Brennan, MD at myVolts explains how to power 3 synths and an effects pedal from one USB port. This is achieved with a USB powerbank, one 9V+ Ripcord USB Cable and a Crazy Chain, available from our online store: https://www.myvolts.com/crazychain

This mobile USB powered synthesizers setup features a Korg Volca Modular, a Korg Volca Bass, a Sismo Samba (two outputs, one passed through a Zoom MSC70 Effects Pedal)."

Track info:

95 bpm slow and dreamy, this one took a while to put together.. most probably due to struggling with similar melodies and vibes from the other two previous sessions. Big thanks to my patrons for pointing that out so i know what to fix. I think that this will have some significant changes for the final version of the track.. and when multitracking it I will most probably change the intro section a bit plus also ensure it builds up in a more cohesive way.

AKAI force, as usual is handling the main drums, sequencing the sub37, monologue, ASM hydrasynth and the volca bass. TR 707 adds some simpler hihats, digitakt adds some extra percussion. Digitone, Peak, Analog Four are not in use.

The ms-20 starts the track off, paired with a long wobbly delay in the el Capistan. At the 3.30 mark i play the dreadbox erebus from the force pads.. a bit tricky but it worked ok. I think the melody will change a bit too, esp phrasing.

Modular does some nice percussion with the BIA, sort of a bass style sound + a pretty weird sequence with the Braids. :)

Enjoy!

Bokeh Bokeh - Korg Nts1 Volca Modular and Ds10 Jam

ChrisLody

"Well, I'm a bit meh about this one. I've had a bit of a dry patch/mammoth video gaming session over the last couple of months so I've not been making any music. This was an experiment to make something with the Volca Modular and Korg Ds10 with mismatched time signatures, not sure I like the result but there it is.

I've got Korg Ds10 controlling the sync of the Modular and the Modular passing it's audio through the effects on the Nts1.

The video projected over the top is from some old mini dv tapes I got hold of recently. Its film footage of Blackpool Illuminations. There is a section that filmed out of focus that gives a beautiful bokeh effect, trouble is the subtly of it is completely lost when projected like this so I'll probably use that footage for something else in a different way in the future.

Oh well, at least I made something."

Korg Volca Modular clock modulated by Pamela's New Workout

On High Mountains

"The output of the Volca goes into a low pass filter to cut unpleasant high frequencies (above 15k or so) caused by the volca reverb. From the filter the signal goes through a Happy Nerding FX Aid reverb then into the er301 where I have a live looper intermittently recording and looping a few seconds of sound. That same buffer is used in a second looper to play short intermittent bursts of the sample. The source of all sounds, except reverb is the Volca Modular. Pamela's New Workout to the sync input to modulate the Volca clock."

Track info:

108 bpm downbeat with light shuffle, focus on a longer buildup for a possible intro section. I might split this into two separate track for the future final recording to make things a bit simpler.

AKAI force is handling drums and sequencing the peak chords, monologue, erebus III and also the main low end bass from the volca. Additional percussion from the TR707, digitakt and the digitone.

First intro melody is on the ms-20, sub37 and ASM in combo does the second one.

Modular does the main intro sequence, 3x doepfer uPVCOs in a triad chord with the help from O_C hemisphere app, also some randomised melodies in the intro to build atmosphere sequenced by the eloquencer, using the classic rings into clouds combo. :)

Enjoy!

Tiny Modular, Tiny Plants - Korg Volca Modular and NTS-1 Jam

ChrisLody

"What do you do if you can't afford a big swanky wall full of modular synth equipment? Get some tiny plants to go with you Volca Modular. Done

Actually these plants belong to my missus and I've been staring at them on the bathroom window sill for a while. The table and chair are her's too. She likes to make stop frame animation so she has a few miniature props kicking about.

Sadly I had to loose the table when it came to the actual jam as it was impracticably wobbly and made it impossible to connect everything up properly. So I moved it onto the, er, floor..? Shame.

In this jam the Volca Modualr is running through the NTS-1 so it can be processed with it's effects. I'm using the flanger, tape delay and hall reverb on this one. I'm using Poly88 as the oscillator for the arp as it allows me to change the octave being played which is not something that's currently possible with the stock oscillators."

It uses the Dave Smith Mopho & Korg Volca Beats along with the modular and the guitar. The guitar goes into the Pittsburgh InOut and then into the Dwarfcraft Hax and finally through MI Clouds. Both are heavily modulated by various CV sources."
