"Formed in 1982, the band comprised the punk pioneers Stiv Bators (The Dead Boys), Brian James (The Damned), Dave Tregunna (Sham 69) and Nick Turner (The Barracudas).

The band recorded three studio albums and one live album together before Bators ended the band onstage after a concert on 2 May 1989, at the London Astoria.

They had one surprise Top 40 hit in Canada in 1982 with the single "Open Your Eyes". A more contrived attempt to have a global hit with a parody cover version of Madonna's "Like a Virgin" in 1985 proved less successful, but ironically remains one of the band's best known singles to date.

The band played a small, but important role in the film Tapeheads in 1988, with Bators playing a character called Garry "Dick Slammer" Fink.

The band's image blurred the lines of batcave rockers and glam punks such as Hanoi Rocks (vocalist Michael Monroe actually guested on one of the Lords' albums using the saxophone). For their album Is Nothing Sacred, Todd Rundgren collaborated on "Live for Today", a cover of a 1960s song by the Anglo-Italian band The Rokes (covered in English by The Grass Roots), producing and playing synthesizer. Their music was darker and more melodic than traditional punk.

Bators died after being struck by a car in Paris in 1990.

Founding members Brian James and Dave Tregunna reformed The Lords of the New Church in 2003 with the vocalist Adam Becvare of The LustKillers.

The lineup recorded the ten-song CD Hang On and toured Europe in spring that year. Becvare then resurrected Vancouver's The Black Halos in 2004, writing and recording two albums, Alive Without Control and We Are Not Alone, and touring internationally.

The Lords of the New Church fronted by Becvare continue to perform live and to write new material when Becvare is not touring with The LustKillers."

"http://www.Alfred.TV READ ME FIRST: I was very fortunate to procure a limited edition Solaris Synthesizer, designed by John Bowen. Shipping from Germany, it was unfortunate that it suffered a bump that dislodged a daughterboard, rendering half of the keyboard useless. This was soon resolved by "The Mighty Mighty AdamB", where, reprising his role as the "Synth Doctor" the Solaris was opened and the daughterboard was secured.

Was this relatively simple procedure of plugging in a loosened connector enough to make a watchable and entertaining video with a run time of 20 Minutes? I guess we will find out, based on your "likes" and comments.

"The Model 261e Complex Waveform Generator features voltage-controlled modulation of pitch, amplitude, and timbre, and a multi-dimensional, voltage-controlled timbre space. All of the 261e's timbre processing is performed by analog circuitry, thus eliminating the aliasing that can be introduced by waveshape table driven systems.

"Newtonian physics on a modular synth! The ADDAC503 Marble Physics is a CV generator based on the mechanics behavior of a marble on a tray.

Through this realtime physics simulator you'll be able to control several parameters that will affect the behavior of a model of a spherical object against a plane. You can tilt the plane or bump the marble with a certain strength, which will cause it to roll and bounce on elastic walls.

The model will output the object's XY position or velocity and you can control other physical parameters, like the walls' elasticity or the strength of a bump. When the marble hits walls the bounce output triggers and you can additionally lock the X axis for a one dimension simulation. Finally you can also set the overall speed of the simulation.

By controlling all of these properties you be able simulate several scenarios where the marble falls, gets gently pulled by gravity, orbits indefinitely or bounces on walls like a pinball. Truly engaging physics simulations!"
