Phaseur Moire from 4ms Pedals
YouTube via 4mspedals
"The Phaseur Moire is a 3 LFO resonant phase-shifting filter, with vibrato, chorus-esque, and sweeping phaser sounds. This video demonstrates how the LFOs work together. At 1:26 I start to play with the different filtering sounds, and if you want to hear more of that, listen to the Phaseur Fleur youtube video.
Explanation of knobs:
The Aux A LFO adds to the main LFO (the left stomp turns it on/off and the knobs above that are its Speed and Depth). The Aux B LFO modulates the speed of the main LFO (the right stomp and two knobs). The top center knob is the main LFO speed, and to the left of that is main LFO Depth, and dead center on the box is the main LFO waveshaper (square to triangle wave). The remaining knobs control the sound of the filter: Height (center-upper-right), Vibrato-blend (center-lower-left), and Ring/resonance (center-lower-right).
There are also CV inputs which are demonstrated in a different video!"

#############
Yudo rectools is a stereo compatible linear PCM recorder that is perfectly suited for recording live concerts, your surroundings, meetings and much more. Unlike WMA or MP3 rectools uses a linear PCM format which means that no data will get lost due to compression. The original sound will stay intact, with rectools its possible to make recordings with the same high quality as a music CD. Furthermore rectools is tested and compatible with several external 3rd party iPhone/iPod microphones. Also an optional limiter that protects you from sound deformation due to too load input and a high pass filter that filters away low frequencies is adapted. Moreover rectools includes a wave editor which makes it possible to easily process and edit your recordings."

Prototype of a VERY SIMPLE - Solar powered "cricket" circuit -
Solar cells charge two wireless phone battery packs during the day, then when it's dark the circuit starts chirping away.
The cricket is made using a single 4093 quad NAND gate and a few resistors and capacitors. Amplification provided by a single transistor, LED used to debug (no pun intended)."

New Serge M-odule Released: The 'Dual 'Q' Filter' M-odule
via Bakis
"a new Serge M-odule has been released:
the 'Dual 'Q' Filter' M-odule. Price is 1600 USD
it contains the following modules (from Left to Right):
AC-coupled 3-channel audio mixer, Variable Q VCF, Variable Q VCF, Dual VCA (one vca is AC-coupled the other vca is DC-coupled), and a Mix Processor (DC-coupled).
with that M-odule, you can create various filtering slopes (12db and even 24db, with a patch described in detail here and also, of course, you get various filter responses (BP, LP, HP, Notch). the VCFQ module has a slope of 12db/oct. the filters can be patched to self-oscillate and they have a trigger In socket, for exciting them to produce various percussive sounds. By exciting the resonant filters in 'Lo' mode, you can use them as interesting modulation sources. by combining them in parallel, you can get a twin Q peak also. or, by connecting them in series, you can get a BP filter with variable bandwidth and twin Q peaks also, etc... also you get two vca's for your audio, AM, and inter-patch modulation index needs, plus a mix processor for scaling, mixing and inverting cv's."

Stereo internal speakers make this a super-portable glitch-core in a box!

abre ojos - elements release on Darkwinter.com
Elements are a series of improvised audio-visual tracks based around the four alchemical elements of Earth, Air, Water & Fire. Drawing on the aesthetics of the Crowley Tarot painted by Lady Frieda Harris with imagery drawn from 50’s propaganda films these pieces combine long evolving drones from modular synths with sound reactive looping visuals and animated mandalas to create an immersive synaesthetic experience to give time for reflection and meditation.

Lou Reed Uses The Haken Continuum

"Was reading the music reviews in the New York Times and found this:
Music Review | Lou Reed
All Those Sounds From the Stage: Processed, and Not Always Pretty
'Although for half of the show, before picking up a guitar, he played a Continuum Fingerboard, a touch-sensitive instrument that depends on outside sound sources; it wasn’t clear whether Mr. Reed’s were guitar-related or not.'"

"A sound and light installation. When we're not there, this attic is playing a new genre of industrial symphony.....
What you're seeing is a dark attic space in which the frames of wood and the pipes are being lit by a very precise ray of light, giving us the illusion that the light comes from inside the object.
Each lit object has its own individual sound.
This was made in the attic of The Pavilion in Bexhyl on Sea, England. This is my first experiment, I'm preparing an exhibition for the Brighton Fringe based on this idea. I'm collaborating with Mike Blow who will put light sensors on each lit object to react with sound. The sonic result is amazing as it directly reacts to the ligh projected.
Come and see the exhbition called "Sonic Art" at The Blank Gallery in Brighton, between the 2nd and 16th May.

".....way cool vintage electronic drum sythesizer by Star Instruments. This thing is a doozie man....it has oscillator 1 and oscillator 2 ....filter....and amplifier with decay. I believe this gem is responsible for the genius early 80s sounds of bands like Joy Division, Prince, Devo, Kim Karnes and probably many others."
