E-mu Emulator III RACK & RM45 Disk Drive

via this auction

Here's an interesting bit of kit. I don't believe the RM45 has ever been featured on the site before.

Details from the listing:

"WOW you will never find another package like this again! Here's the chance you've been waiting for.
For sale is a rare Emulator EIII Rack. This is the same exact sound and parts as the Emulator III keyboard but in a more portable rack version. The EIII keyboard cost upwards of $15,000 back in the day and was considered one of the ultimate samplers. Very few of these rack versions exist and they only show up for sale once every few years. You aren't likely to find another one in such nice functional condition and this with all the extras. It's fully functional and fully maxed out with tons of upgrades. Cosmetically it is great shape minus some rack rash, but the front is very clean. Check out the pictures to make sure you like it.

Includes everything pictured below. Here's a list of the rare items included:
- Maxed out 8MB Ram
- New super bright OLED screen (better than the original screens and now viewable from all angles)
- Internal CF card reader to store all your samples
- three bootable 1-GB CF cards pre-loaded with sounds
- New ultraquiet internal fans
- Syquest RM45 SCSI Drive with 3 44MB disks and nine 3.5" floppy disks.
- Ten 3.5" floppy disks from the original Northstar Productions library
- external SCSI CF card reader (quite rare and valued over $600) capable of reading CF cards externals through SCSI (and useful for any other synthesizers with SCSI ports)
- Original users manual
- Power cable"

EurekaSound MIDIMizer

"EurekaSound just released the MIDIMizer — it allows running 2 MIDI cables over a single CAT5 cable. The idea is that, rather than buying expensive MIDI cables of arbitrary length, instead you buy a MIDIMizer, and then insert any length off-the-shelf CAT5 cable in between, to make your own custom length. Also saves on cabling, as each CAT5 cable carries two MIDI cables; perfect for running MIDI IN and OUT to the same piece of gear."

"Here's another little acid house jam using the Roland TR-8, TB-3, JU-06, Circuit Bent TR-505, Novation Circuit, and Korg ESX all run through my Mackie ProFX12 and recorded as a stereo track into Logic Pro. This is NOT a comprehensive demo of any of these machines, just me having a little fun pushing some buttons and twiddling some knobs."

New England Digital (NED) Synclavier II w. Timbre Frame Resynthesis

via this auction

via the seller:

"I'm selling a 16-voice Synclavier II system. It is one of the super rare 2% of Synclaviers which has the Timbre Frame Resynthesis capability. Another rarity is the black ORK keyboard. The system has a lot of sound disks, the RealTime software disks, etc. comes with manual, extra floppy drive, etc. The unit worked fine in July 2015 when I recorded the Aloha Rhapsody with it. Now it won't load any OS disk, although it still starts up the good old way. The issue might be a simple $100 floppy snag of some sort for all I know. I only learned enough Synclavier know-how to understand, only seasoned experts with lots of spare parts should mess with a Synclavier's hardware.

So this system needs a new owner, someone who lives within easy driving distance of a seasoned tech like Synhouse in LA who did the last full overhaul of this unit in 2009, bringing it up to factory spec. Keeping a Synclavier system in the middle of Pacific as I tried, where diagnosing an issue will cost 10 times the repair in air shipping costs is not really financially sensible.

So, even though I spent close to $10K on this system, I'll put it up for sale at $2490, as is. From its arrival in 2009, it still worked fine 6 months ago, so whatever ails it now seems not drastic, but I am not making any promises. At such a bargain basement price, it is being sold as is. When it runs, it does awesome things.

For shipping,I'll put the dimensions below so you can check FedEx/UPS shipping quotes to your exotic destinations for yourself. Ebay's form only let me enter dimension / weight for one single box, as if the whole system were packed into one giant uber-heavy box. In fact, there will be 3 separate boxes.
The rack unit, boxed is: 72 lbs, 24 x 24 x 16 inch
The keyboard, boxed is 25 lbs, 42 x 16 x 12 inch
Drives, cables, manuals, etc. in one big box is 40 lbs, 16 x 16 x 24 inch
My zip code (if ebay doesn't say it) is 96815"

Published on Jan 9, 2016 Earmonkey Music

"Noise experiment for the morning. This is a one note sequence. Seriously difficult to play and program (ha). Initially, the pitch of the Mother is controlled only by the Frequency knob, then I move to the keyboard later. Both synths are going through the Roland Tape Delay RE-301, and getting treatment from an overdriven Valhalla reverrb in Ableton Live"

Control Synthesis Deep Bass Nine vintage analogue synth

via this auction

"Rare, British analogue monosynth with a fat sound and a lot of vintage vibes (it uses CEM3340 for the oscillator section - same as Memorymoog, Oberheim OB-x, Jupiter 6, Pro One, SH101 and many others). In great working condition for its age. Also works perfectly as Midi>CV converter (fully tested). The filter range and resonance can be tweaked using internal pots (I've adjusted it for the optimal settings)."

MOOG Mother 32 +analog GLITCH Pedal AMBIENT DEMO JAM with MWFX JUDDER metal 48

Published on Jan 9, 2016 VolcaRock

"glitchy MOOG Mother 32 meets MWFX Judder - EXPERIMENTAL AMBIENT DEMO JAMs with my latest Synth & an analog Glitch Pedal,
which I bought for guitar, but love it with synths because I can control the speed with my hand.
Judder-Pedal is awesome Glitch fun- with guitar, beats and synths! It can sound subtle or like an explosion. It has a momentary switch button to activate the FX. The button can be changed to work vice versa. The Judder can be controlled and modulated by envelope sensitivity (depends on how hard you pick the notes) LFO or external CV. In highest settings it can get to self oscillation.

The Judder sounds warm and the glitch FX is more similar to my analog delays than to Octatrack.
sample time is from 27 ms to 300 ms in short and from 27 ms to 10 sec in LoFi-mode for heavily bit-crushed and noisy Loops!

There are different cases but all the same functions: Judder new design ( the one I have) Big Metal Judder and even an wooden Judder :-)

Hope you enjoy my experimental journey with glitchy Mother :-)"

Yamaha Reface CS - custom sounds

"75 custom sounds in QR code format can be downloaded here
no external effects or EQ were used in this video. recording path: stereo outs from synth directly to audio interface and then recorded dry in ableton live.
The audio track of the video was untouched as well.

I loaded and transferred these presets using the Yamaha Reface Capture app for iOS devices. I did not use the soundmondo website because I do not run chrome on my mac.
I will post a video explaining how to load and transfer presets using the Yamaha Reface Capture app and will put some free QR codes in the explainer video so you can test out the process for yourself."
