I played the Farfisa Syntorchestra along with a Korg SDD-3000 delay and Lexicon MPX-500 for reverbs.

The Farfisa (Stereo) Syntorchestra is an Italian keyboard. Basically it's a simple monophonic (preset) synthesizer combined with a polyphonic section. These two sections can be also combined and slightly detuned (intervals are also possible) to sound like a 2-VCO monophonic synth. It is simple, and it sounds great - especially with a delay effect! You can tweak the parameters in the synth section a bit (envelope, LFO, VCF cutoff, resonance switch). It has single outputs for the polyphonic and monophonic section.

The Syntorchestra has a typical ARP design. It was used by Klaus Schulze on his album Moondawn, by Ash Ra (Ashra Tempel) and Vangelis.

It produces sounds, which you don't get from other synths. It sounds really vintage, like classic electronic music from the seventies!"

"REGELWERK is a professional tool that is able to generate any MIDI data by means of 24 high quality ALPS faders with 48 related buttons and LEDs (2 buttons and 2 LEDs for each fader).

The fader box features include standard functions like assignment of any MIDI data type to the faders and buttons (e.g. any controller, aftertouch, note on/off, velocity, program change, SysEx) as well as functions like Solo, Mute, Master, Total Recall, Overdup, HookOn. For example you may program the unit as a real-time editor for any other MIDI equipment (including software synthesizers) by assigning the required MIDI events to the faders and buttons.

But REGELWERK is much more than a so-called "MIDI fader box" though it as well carries out what you would expect from such a unit. In addition REGELWERK is suitable - so to speak as a free gift - to generate pattern-based musical structures like rhythmic trigger patterns, analog sequences and other rhythmic structures. The immediate access to important controlling parameters leads to completely new rhythmic and sequencing applications especially for improvisations and live events. It is possible to combine the features of the fader box and the sequencer at the same time (8 faders with fader box features and 16 faders for generating a sequence)."

"This is the flagship vocoder from Synton, and is among the best vocoders of all time. It shares company with the EMS 5000 and the Sennheiser VSM-201 vocoder.

It's really rare, only 20 pieces was made.

The face of the unit is without blemish. The pots feel smooth and as new, no pins are missing and all LEDs work as new.
When I got it five years ago, a CA3080 in it nearly 'exploded'. I got in touch with the Synton factory in Netherlands they informed me that this is a type bug and suggested to replace all of them. I decided to do that, and with this I replaced the condensers as well. (In the link below you can see pictures about the repair)

A technician has gone over it thoroughly, and couldn't find a fault.I used it also and found everything in a perfect state.

"The 2nd Annual Oscillate Pittsburgh is this Saturday April 16 at 2PM at the Western Pennsylvania Center for the Arts, 300 James St, Verona, Pennsylvania 15147.

This event is held by and for modular synth enthusiasts of all kinds, and offers a little bit of everything*. Meet and talk to a number of manufacturers, including Evaton Technologies, Pittsburgh Modular, Monorocket, Livewire, Zlob Modular, and Division 6. We will have live performances from 8CYLINDER, Tonsil, Russ from Evaton, Richard from Pittsburgh Modular performing with Steve from Monorocket, and anyone else that straggles in. There will also be plenty of time between sets where you can meet other people into Eurorack, 5U, standalone, and DIY synths.

There will be food for sale. Admission is free, however donations to the Western Pennsylvania Center for the Arts would certainly be welcome.

*I should mention that the mfrs. / performers are subject to change at any time, this event has been chaotic."

Thought I'd post these roughly shot videos, which were originally just for my personal archive, to show some of its possibilities. One of the main features of this module is that all these explorations can be saved and recalled using the 206 Preset Manager. Love this 254e!"

"This video uses the ARP Omni to showcase the new filter in The Gristelizer v3 (same as in the eurorack module). The AD4096 adds some smeary reverb-ish background.

The recording was made using a Universal Audio Apollo 8 using these plugins: a Neve 1073 Preamp, the RCA Tube Slate VCC, Studer A800 tape machine, Manley Vari-Mu Compressor, Manley Massive Passive Mastering EQ, and the Ampex ATR-102 tape machine."

Aelita soviet synthesizer tracks

"The entire EP was recorded by me using exclusively Aelita soviet synthesizer including drums and percussion with hardware effects. Everything was multitracked in a sequencer.

Aelita was supposed to be a Minimoog clone (with less features) but because of the Soviet circuitry, the filter to my ears is more ARP sounding while having the same attack time like on a Minimoog. It has a very distinctive, organic and evolving sound.

- Pitch Step Editor : Set different pitch values (-24/+24) on every steps of the sequencer.
- Route LFO : LFO can now be routed to 3 others parameters than « Pitch » : Grain, Speed (Grain), Center (Random Mode) and Reverb (dry/wet).
- External midi trigger : when the sequencer is on pause, launch RUIDOZ gate events from external midi message (keyboard, DAW midi clips, etc..).

"Teknikal Mumbalo Jumbalo:

A Control 66B was feeding CV to two 55B dual quantizers that sent thier outputs to four MOTM-300 VCOs. The VCO triangle outputs went to a 31B quad VCA and those outputs went to four channels of a SM-10 line mixer. The 60B quad EG modulated the 31B and the 60B and 55Bs were gated by a 568 trigger sequencer. A M4000D was used for the oboe and female voice soloing and a BigSky provided the reverb."
