Rheyne - Sequenced Jam #41 (Moog DFAM, Mother-32, Make Noise Eurorack)

Published on Jun 27, 2017 Rheyne

"Sound sources are a Moog DFAM and a Make Noise DPO running through a Strymon BigSky, while a Moog Mother-32 runs through Ableton's reverb for the pad sound. The DPO output is split into two channels and each channel is modulated separately for a stereo effect. All notes are triggered by the synths, no outside MIDI was used."

The Behringer D Price Lowered to $299

You might recall, the original targeted price for the upcoming Behringer D was $400. Pre-orders are now available for $299 with a target ship date of September. The new price may, or may not be a reaction to Roland's new SE-02. The MSRP for the SE-02 is said to be $499. This make the Behringer D $200 less. Of course the feature set is slightly different. The SE-02 adds patch storage and a sequencer.

The Behringer D Analog Monosynth Module Features:
3 punchy-sounding voltage-controlled oscillators
Classic 24dB voltage-controlled filter with resonance (Emphasis)
Filter selectable for lowpass or highpass
Noise generator (selectable between White and Pink Noise)
Overdrive circuit
USB-MIDI plus 5-pin DIN In and Thru
CV connectivity
Glide (portamento)
External audio input
Low-output and high-output 1/4" outs
Behringer's 3-year warranty

The Roland SE-02 features:

Discrete analog circuitry with knob-per-function interface
Three voltage controlled oscillators with six waveforms
Temperature-stabilized oscillators with automatic tuning
24 dB low-pass filter and dual gain-stage amplifier
Three types of cross modulation (XMOD), feedback loop, and noise generator
Tempo-syncing LFO with nine waveforms
Tempo-syncing digital delay with bypass to maintain analog signal path
Save and recall sounds with 384 preset and 128 user locations
Musical and intuitive pattern sequencer with song mode
Sequence notes, gate time, glide, and synth parameters
CV, VCF CV and gate inputs, plus trigger in/out
External Input for routing audio through the SE-02’s filter section
Standard MIDI, USB-MIDI, and USB-Audio
Create a polyphonic synth by using Chain Mode to connect two or more SE-02s together via MIDI

Note: bottom two pics are of the Roland SE-02 for comparison.

AJH MiniMod Eurorack Demo

Published on Jun 27, 2017 Perfect Circuit Audio

"The first patch in this video is a bass sound with two saw oscillators overdriving the Transistor Ladder Filter. The second patch uses the shark tooth waves as well sub bass waveforms generated by the Ring SM module, a delay makes the sequence sound more complex and a second MiniMod Filter is used on the delay repeats. In the third patch one oscillator is synched to the other and the delay is still used.

The AJH MiniMod Eurorack modules bring the great sound of the MiniMoog Model D discrete circuitry into the Eurorack format with a look reminiscent of large format Moog Modulars.

EMS SYNTHI Prototype Keyboard Owned by YES

Spotted this one on sequencer.de

"This EMS prototype is unique – there is only one made – for 'Yes' and Digitana just bought it from them or someone – it’s basically the Synthi A with another layout and minikeys. So it’s quite a modern approach – Microkorg-Style."

via this auction

"Fully serviced Moog Mg-1 with a few functional upgrades professionally done. It has a new set of sliders and switches installed, AC cord has been replaced with standard IEC outlet and all electrolytic and tantalum capacitors have been replaced. Upgrades include: 1/4" output jack and 1/4" filter in jack, trigger input converted to more useable v-trig, osc 2 square wave shape changed to 50% duty like osc1, osc 2 detune slider goes down or up an exact full octave, switches added for 1 octave drop on osc 1 and 2. The synth was fully calibrated after the mods so the tuning/scaling is very precise as well as the rest of the calibration. It is incredibly quiet and is a solid and stable instrument."

DreamsOfWires - Korg Odyssey & Mersenne in the garden...

Published on Jun 27, 2017 DreamsOfWires

"...for no particular reason, other than it was a nice night, so I'd been sitting out there messing around with Mersenne on the iPad: I found something I liked using it's arpeggiator, so I recorded a couple of takes, tweaking the sounds in real-time, and then decided to bring the Odyssey out there too and lay something simple over the top of it. The Odyssey part is meant to be a little in the background, as I didn't want to drown out the sounds from Mersenne, because it produces some really lovely timbres.

Video footage is of a recent trip to Europe. No technical/gear questions please; I'm a perpetual n00b, and as always it's just intended to be music for music's sake, in the off-chance that someone else might enjoy it. It's not instructional or critical."

"I Wanna See" Elektron Digitakt 1st Play

"Received my Digitakt today (woooo!) and have been learning it for a couple of hours. Imported a short clip from Blade Runner and the rest are factory sounds. Using LFOs for panning hi-hats and messing with the sample loop length. Some conditional trig stuff going on too. Fantastic piece of equipment! I look forward to doing more with it in conjunction with my synths. (Please excuse my shaky iPhone video)"

"2VCO synthesizer released in 1977.

This model which is said to be the top model of the SH series has evolved from the SH - 5 more and it is a valuable synthesizer which can use 2 VCO as polyphonic as ODDSEY and can play a chord. Waveforms are wider than SH - 5, the range is wide, ENV is also ADSRx 2, making finer sounds possible. Of course the traditional SAMPLE & HOLD is also equipped. The somewhat inclined panel design is the most refined layout in the SH series, making it easier to make sounds while complicated.

It is a rare model that does not circulate much in the market.
Maintenance done by a vendor.

Roland D50 VST software versus hardware shootout | Roland Cloud Legendary Series

Trippy in Kamieniec

Urs Heckmann aka u-he.

"Minimal Modular Synth performance.

I'm currently in a phase where I enjoy building a whole idea within just a small, contained rack. This time using the Vermona rack with a bunch of their 1U multiples/mixers.

3 Bass/percussion voices: Used Tempi and Bytom to cut up gates and clocks from Metropolis to generate three different rhythmic bass/percussion lines from STO and MiniMod VCO (through MMG, uFold and LXd). All of this through DLD.

Solo Voices: Using Maths as envelope (RingMod via Blinds) and control voltage for a random melody with Dixie II+ , displaced by Batumi /w Sport Modulator and scaled by uScale II. Using MiniMod VCF as Filter/Volume control for this melody. Put a Kamieniec on top of that, which in the beginning is heard by itself as fx sweeps in self oscillation (ringmod'd through cycled Maths).

Mixed, delayed, equalised and limited in Logic."
