New Moog Memorymoog Coming to Moogfest?

Soviet Space Child, wrote it to let us know he heard a rumor that Moog would be announcing yet another major synth at Moogfest this year. The new Grandmother has been formally announced, and we know about the DIY Subharmonicon. I did a little digging and look at what I found. A new Memorymoog with integrated Roli Seaboard Rise. I have no idea if this is real. I do not know if Moog will announce anything else at Moogfest. What I do know is that in the comments of the first post for the Grandmother here, a few people pined for a new Memorymoog, someone said they hoped they were working on one, and an anonymous commenter chimed in with, "They are...they'll announce it this week."


Update: word is the image is an April fools joke.   An embedded ROLI keyboard would hike up the cost compared to a traditional keyboard, and it could limit the audience for those that prefer standard keys. Then again, if it were a limited run... That said, the rumors are out there, and we'll know soon enough... Until then, some free publicity for Moogfest. :)

Update2: and yep, it was just a rumor. Curious what the mix-up was.  Considering this post went up at the height of the Grandmother, I'm guessing SSC's source didn't already know about the Subharmonicon.

Finally it sounds very nice and the envelope is thicker than the one on the Erebus v2.... 130 BPM is a demonstration of a simple electro drum instrument in the Prophet X. All electro drums instruments have 5 kits in each instrument (one pr. octave). In this little free impro we go through a couple of kits within a single instrument - apply some distortion and add two synth oscs on top of the drums. My favorite Synthesizer ever. Why? I love the sound. I love the user interface. I love the design. I love the music when the Juno plays. I love the reliability.

For me unique and I must say I like the Juno-60 a lot more as the big brother Jupiter-8.
A real classic.

I use in this short track only 5 Juno-60 sounds and the internal arpeggiatior. Multi-track recording and all played by hand. The result is a airy track. Timeless."

I thought I would do something a little different this time and just make a few little tunes with the Ableton Pack sounds. This is the first one.

The Roland JX3P was the first synth I ever got my hands on. I still remember the day well, walking into Sam Ash Music and lusting after the new Korg MS2000 on display. I didn't know much about synths at the time, as a guitarist and songwriter I knew they would expand my sound palette, and with some basic piano knowledge I could at least play backing chords and melodies along with pieces I would write. Unfortunately, the MS2000 was 900 dollars, and being a teenager I definitely didn't have that. It didn't stop me from standing in front of it playing with all the sounds for a good half hour. Finally one of the store employees starting talking to me about synths, and suggested I check out the vintage used Roland JX3P they took in. It came with the PG200 Programmer, case, and manuals for both the programmer and synth for only 225 bucks. I heard the first preset and knew I was taking it home. It still makes its way onto most of my recordings."
