Korg Trinity Rack | Fantastic Value for Money

Espen Kraft

"I can hardly think of a vintage sound module that gives better value for money these days. The TR-Rack ticks off all the boxes."

Daisy simple synth voice with an MU (DOTCOM) panel - prototype demo

O.Z. Hall

"This is a module with a Dotcom (MU) format panel. It is using only the features of the Daisy processor ( ) . The "voice" consists of a VCO with V/Oct CV input, various waveforms including Noise, as well as an ADSR envelope and a VCA. It is driven from a sympleSEQ sequencer from Hexinverter.
I hope you enjoy the demo!"

Shellshock Sequence 6-25-20

"Four track looper (Electro-Harmonix 45000) loaded with sequences from the moog stack (DFAM and two Mother-32's), percussion, and drum kit. Mixing tracks for the video and adding sound effects (Chimera BC16 synth). No computer required."

Haven't seen the Chimera BC16 in a video for a while.

Sequencing with Clocks and Digital Logic w/ Omi of omiindustriies

Perfect Circuit

"In this tutorial we explore alternative ways to sequence in your modular synthesizer using clock signals and digital logic modules. These types of modules provide ways to sequence your modular without the use of a traditional step sequencer. By performing Boolean logical operations on clock signals, straightforward and otherwise repetitive clock signals can be transformed into complex rhythmic sequences. Omi from omiindustriies will be teaching this workshop using some omiindustriies as well as other modules.

Here is the first 8 patches from the Nick Rhodes Signature
Patch Bank, free from the Roland Axial website for download
I am a HUGE fan of Duran Duran & I love Nick Rhodes so I had to
do a little demo of these awesome patches! I have owned many of
the synthesizer models Nick Rhodes played & collected, (not his) but
the same models he loved: Roland Jupiter-8, Alesis Andromeda,
Crumar Performer & I currently own the Roland V-Synth & JD-XA.
I wonder if he owns the Roland Jupiter-X yet?
Comment below if anyone know if he owns one yet!

EKO K2 Bass Pedal SN 1959

via this auction

"An Eko K2 Analogue Synth Bass Pedal from the late 1970s.
Very good condition. Got new, full functional 3-PDT switches.
All the tolex is in great shape with only one or two little nicks on the edge. It sounds superb through a bass or guitar amplifier. All in all a very rare retro piece of vintage synth history."

Memorymoog Synthesizer SN 1296

via this auction

"Also included is the MOOG 1120 Pedal and the MOOG Model 55 Dual-Footswitch!!!

The thick lush sounds of the memorymoog have rocked the world since the 80's... This unit does not have MIDI. Record directly to your DAW's I/O device's analog input, or perhaps plug into your multi-track tape machine's audio input... Okay, so if you've read this far, you probably already know what you're looking at! If you're serious about getting it, please read thoroughly, the description above as well as my notes below. You will love your memorymoog, the moment you set it up and begin playing it! Thank you for looking and happy bidding!

Please note some items not included: You will need to provide your own audio cable(s) and cables for the 1120 pedal, etc. (...oh, and you don't get the reading glasses either...)

If you have chosen to purchase, read on... Once you receive your vintage Memorymoog, power it up and after 10 minutes, press, "AutoTune." Then when the procedure is finished, start playing the keys... You will NOT hear voice #1. It's dead! ...or if anything at all, it makes a sound 3-4 octaves high. OK, keep playing notes and you will notice that you will only slightly hear Voice #4, as the filter seems to be closed, HOWEVER, there is a solution... Until you can re-calibrate and service this unit, simply press, 'C' then press, '4', then press, ENTER. The display will ask you which voice to bypass. Press '1' (for voice 1) then press ENTER. Now you'll be in 5-voice mode. Then repeat for voice 4. You'll get it! Very easy!"

New Tom Oberheim Four Voice?

Two new videos of what appears to be a New Tom Oberheim Four Voice from Tom Oberheim himself. Note the Tom Oberheim signature on the keyboard panel.

Update: consensus seems to be this is an original Four Voice System.  What threw me of was the Tom Oberheim signature.  His new SEMs are based on the original hardware design, so a new Four Voice based on the original design isn't exactly far off either.  The patch points on the top also made me think this might be a prototype Four Voice Pro.  Is it?  ;)

Sequential Pro 3 - Fundamentals Sound Sets 1 and 2 - 128 Custom Patches

Creative Spiral

Note the above is a playlist of Sequential Pro 3 videos by Creative Spiral including some on sound design. The following is the description for the first video.

"Two custom designed sound sets for the Pro 3 synthesizer. This video previews about half the patches from both sets. Available now on Sellfy:

0:00 - Set 1: Basses, Leads, Classic Synth
17:52 - Set 2: Strings, Brass, Keys, Paraphonic

128 custom patches for the Sequential Pro 3 synthesizer.

There are many patches inspired by famous songs in this set, including artists like Pink Floyd, Vangelis, Rush, Journey, Boards of Canada, Parliament Funkadelic, Nena, Nine Inch Nails, Queen, The Cars, and more.

In this video demo, a total of sixty three patches are shown. There is also another sixty five more patches included in the combined two sets that are not shown in this demo.

Fundamentals Set 1:
Basses, Leads, and Synth Classics (64 patches)
There is a total of 26 Bass Patches, 22 Lead Patches, and 16 Classic Synth Patches in Set 1. The patch prefixes indicate their intended primary usage, however, most of the basses can double as lead tones, and vice versa - most leads in this set make great sounding basses. I've done my best to optimize patches to sound great up and down the keybed.

Fundamentals Set 2:
Strings, Brass, Keys, Plucks, Organs and Paraphonic Sounds (64 patches)
There is a total of 9 Brass Patches, 6 String Patches, 13 Key/Pluck Patches, 8 Piano and Organ Patches, and 25 Paraphonic Patches in Set 2. Lots of great plucks and synth staples, plus the twenty five paraphonic patches give you a ton of harmonic possibilities to explore. The Pro 3 paraphonic mode is very cool, and can provide unique harmony sounds different than polyphonic synths."

SW3P Filter SQ_01 from Open Video Medien Labor on Vimeo.

"In 1969 Robert Arthur Moog transformed his mighty and complex 3C studio synthesizer system – due to popular demand – into a stage ready tryptich of extraordinary beauty and sonic superiority. No wonder the roadworthy Tolex covered 3P rose immediate attention among artists worldwide, and therefore found its way into the hands of artists like George Harrison and bands like The Rolling Stones or Tangerine Dream.

One of the most famous 3P users of all time and pioneering founder of the berlin school, Klaus Schulze, bought his system in 1975 from German Artist Florian Fricke and used it for several years for live performances as well as studio recordings. Kindly dedicated to Klaus, we considered it is about time to reengineer and resurrect this wonderful instrument to the very last detail to bring back the authentic sound and feel of this highly sophisticated beauty.

With greatest respect to the spirit of the old Trumansburg days, there will be a pristine model but no such thing as a stock 3P-2020, since everything remains customizable to your very own personal taste.

ARP Quadra Replacement Membrane Panel & LED Sliders - Synthchaser #132

Synth Chaser

"Finally! A replacement for the legendarily flaky ARP Quadra membrane panel! Many an otherwise good Quadra have been turned into doorstops or scrap metal due to failed or damaged membrane panels.

In this video I briefly introduce two new goodies for the ARP Quadra. One is a replacement membrane panel, and the other is a set of LED illuminated sliders.

Both of these products, and the ARP Quadra shown in the video are available on my website."

Ex-Jefferson Starship ARP Quadra Synthesizer Serviced w/LED Sliders New Membrane

Synth Chaser

via this auction

"This ARP Quadra was owned by Pete Sears and toured with Jefferson Starship in the 1980s! It has just been professionally overhauled by Synthchaser, the foremost expert on ARP Quadras! Work done included a new membrane panel, new blue LED sliders, recap of all tantalum and electrolytic capacitors, new touch sensor, keyboard rebuild, dozens of new IC chips, and more!

While many synths are listed as "serviced" or "fully serviced", they are usually devoid of any details of what was actually done. Those that do provide details or service invoices often reveal that the synth was merely superficially serviced, and not genuinely "future-proofed". I have not only serviced this Quadra, I've taken it down to the chassis and overhauled it. Work done included:

New membrane panel - The membrane panel with the switches that enable the various features and pull up the presets is a known weak spot of the ARP Quadra, and many otherwise good Quadras have been turned into expensive doorstops due to failed membrane panels. A brand new (manufactured in 2020!) Synthchaser membrane panel has been installed. It looks just like the original! Have other "future-proofed" Quadras had this part replaced? I think not!

Synthchaser Precision LED slider upgrade. All 35 of the old original sliders have been replaced with new, smooth, high precision LED illuminated sliders. The difference in the way these sliders feel and perform compared to the originals is a huge improvement.

Original 1970s ARP 2600 Semi-Modular Analogue Synth + Keyboard SN 360 0054

via this auction

"ARP2600 Case has been re-wrapped and restored, and the unit serviced by Kent Spong.
In very good condition.
All working, though some sliders have a little crackle.

Comes with lids and the keyboard 3620.

IEC mains socket installed."

Black Corporation Deckard's Dream Rev 1 with Expander

via this auction

1. Rev 1 significant difference is in the power supply board. The earlier revisions have very large heat sinks and add to the weight a little of the unit. It is my understanding that any sound difference is negligible, but feel free to google it and discover for yourself it has never really been a concern of mine because this thing sounds awesome.

2. The orange led backlights cannot be turned off with a switch. If you want me to pull this mod before shipping I am fine to do it. If you wanted to pull it yourself later it is as simple as opening up the front panel and snipping a wire.

More improvisations featuring the Yamaha CS 60 on my SoundCloud: [below]

This fully analog instrument came on the market in 1977 and is 8 voice polyphonic. Many people know the sound of the CS, because Vangelis used its bigger brother, the CS 80, on many of his tracks, including Blade Runner and Chariots of Fire."
