Record directly to your DAW's I/O device's analog input, or perhaps plug into your multi-track tape machine's audio input... Okay, so if you've read this far, you probably already know what you're looking at! If you're serious about getting it, please read thoroughly, the description above as well as my notes below. You will love your memorymoog, the moment you set it up and begin playing it! Thank you for looking and happy bidding!

Please note some items not included: You will need to provide your own audio cable(s) and cables for the 1120 pedal, etc. (...oh, and you don't get the reading glasses either...)

If you have chosen to purchase, read on... Once you receive your vintage Memorymoog, power it up and after 10 minutes, press, "AutoTune." Then when the procedure is finished, start playing the keys... You will NOT hear voice #1. It's dead! ...or if anything at all, it makes a sound 3-4 octaves high. OK, keep playing notes and you will notice that you will only slightly hear Voice #4, as the filter seems to be closed, HOWEVER, there is a solution... Until you can re-calibrate and service this unit, simply press, 'C' then press, '4', then press, ENTER. The display will ask you which voice to bypass. Press '1' (for voice 1) then press ENTER. Now you'll be in 5-voice mode. Then repeat for voice 4. You'll get it! Very easy!"

New Tom Oberheim Four Voice?

Two new videos of what appears to be a New Tom Oberheim Four Voice from Tom Oberheim himself. Note the Tom Oberheim signature on the keyboard panel.

Update: consensus seems to be this is an original Four Voice System.  What threw me of was the Tom Oberheim signature.  His new SEMs are based on the original hardware design, so a new Four Voice based on the original design isn't exactly far off either.  The patch points on the top also made me think this might be a prototype Four Voice Pro.  Is it?  ;)

There are many patches inspired by famous songs in this set, including artists like Pink Floyd, Vangelis, Rush, Journey, Boards of Canada, Parliament Funkadelic, Nena, Nine Inch Nails, Queen, The Cars, and more.

In this video demo, a total of sixty three patches are shown. There is also another sixty five more patches included in the combined two sets that are not shown in this demo.

Fundamentals Set 1:
Basses, Leads, and Synth Classics (64 patches)
There is a total of 26 Bass Patches, 22 Lead Patches, and 16 Classic Synth Patches in Set 1. The patch prefixes indicate their intended primary usage, however, most of the basses can double as lead tones, and vice versa - most leads in this set make great sounding basses. I've done my best to optimize patches to sound great up and down the keybed.

Fundamentals Set 2:
Strings, Brass, Keys, Plucks, Organs and Paraphonic Sounds (64 patches)
There is a total of 9 Brass Patches, 6 String Patches, 13 Key/Pluck Patches, 8 Piano and Organ Patches, and 25 Paraphonic Patches in Set 2. Lots of great plucks and synth staples, plus the twenty five paraphonic patches give you a ton of harmonic possibilities to explore. The Pro 3 paraphonic mode is very cool, and can provide unique harmony sounds different than polyphonic synths."

No wonder the roadworthy Tolex covered 3P rose immediate attention among artists worldwide, and therefore found its way into the hands of artists like George Harrison and bands like The Rolling Stones or Tangerine Dream.

One of the most famous 3P users of all time and pioneering founder of the berlin school, Klaus Schulze, bought his system in 1975 from German Artist Florian Fricke and used it for several years for live performances as well as studio recordings. Kindly dedicated to Klaus, we considered it is about time to reengineer and resurrect this wonderful instrument to the very last detail to bring back the authentic sound and feel of this highly sophisticated beauty.

"This ARP Quadra was owned by Pete Sears and toured with Jefferson Starship in the 1980s! It has just been professionally overhauled by Synthchaser, the foremost expert on ARP Quadras! Work done included a new membrane panel, new blue LED sliders, recap of all tantalum and electrolytic capacitors, new touch sensor, keyboard rebuild, dozens of new IC chips, and more!

While many synths are listed as "serviced" or "fully serviced", they are usually devoid of any details of what was actually done. Those that do provide details or service invoices often reveal that the synth was merely superficially serviced, and not genuinely "future-proofed". I have not only serviced this Quadra, I've taken it down to the chassis and overhauled it. Work done included:

New membrane panel - The membrane panel with the switches that enable the various features and pull up the presets is a known weak spot of the ARP Quadra, and many otherwise good Quadras have been turned into expensive doorstops due to failed membrane panels. A brand new (manufactured in 2020!) Synthchaser membrane panel has been installed. It looks just like the original! Have other "future-proofed" Quadras had this part replaced? I think not!

Synthchaser Precision LED slider upgrade. All 35 of the old original sliders have been replaced with new, smooth, high precision LED illuminated sliders. The difference in the way these sliders feel and perform compared to the originals is a huge improvement.

1. Rev 1 significant difference is in the power supply board. The earlier revisions have very large heat sinks and add to the weight a little of the unit. It is my understanding that any sound difference is negligible, but feel free to google it and discover for yourself it has never really been a concern of mine because this thing sounds awesome.

2. The orange led backlights cannot be turned off with a switch. If you want me to pull this mod before shipping I am fine to do it. If you wanted to pull it yourself later it is as simple as opening up the front panel and snipping a wire.
