OB 6 Filter Modes

video upload by O.Z. Hall

"This is an exploration of the 4 filter modes of the OB-6 - Lowpass, Highpass, Bandpass and Notch. The Filter mode can be modulated from an LFO, ADSR or VCO2, in the low frequency or audio frequency range.
Patch #076 modulates filter frequency and filter mode together. So as the cutoff rises, the mode becomes HP. The patch begins c. 1:27. The “rise” gets prominent starting c. 1:32."

00:00 Intro
00:26 Part I. Outer Space
05:15 Part II. Mother Earth
08:52 Part III. Artificial Intelligence
10:53 Part IV. The Divine

LFO Store and a well-known sound designer Otto K. Schwarz have prepared something very special and outstanding for you. We have created the unique sounds for the latest Waldorf’s synthsizers line - one of the most complex in terms of sound synthesis architecture. This soundset stands out from everything that has been done before, making the most of the Walforf’s sound processors possibilities and versatile types and methods of synthesis.

Each prepared preset may be modulated using the modwheel, and some of them are modulated by other parameters like velocity or aftertouch. Moving wavetable synthesis combined with unique granulation and resonance technologies, the use of the Kernel method and live-recorded samples. These sounds will be useful for ambient music, cinematic and official soundtracks, as well as modern electronica and EDM.

The soundset will open the doors to 4 specific dimensions: endless expanses of the outer space; beauty of Planet Earth’s nature environment; latest achievements in the field of artificial intelligence; as well as sounds of the spiritual world and aspirations to the Divine. Get ready for ethereal harmonies that will change the palette of your personal sound!

Product Details:
52 high-quality multi-layered presets: 31 Pads, 10 ARPs, 10 Leads, 6 Plucks and 1 Atmosphere. 50Mb of .wav files (samples) for presets. 100% Royalty-Free.

"This guy is awesome and super hot looking, the case is a custom silver (the only one) arp clone case made by monorocket, its ridiculously awesome. Here are the issues and things to note. There are 3 LEDs that aren't lit...oh by the way they are special pink LEDs...the photos don't do it justice. Playing it today I noticed osc 1 square output is low. I patched osc 1 saw into the mixer and it was normal volume. I installed the speakers but they will overdrive if you have volume sliders all the way up...if I use them I keep them 3/4 volume...you could make adjustments to the circuit to tame it if you want.
For some reason I never hooked up the reverb. There's a tank in there just needs hooked up. I also bought a super cool set of LED slider caps from THONK...they look great."

Dataline - THEM5000 (Monomachine only track)

video upload by MrDataline

"Monomachine recorded multitrack into Ableton. Download Monomachine Sysex file, Multitrack recordings and Ableton Project file at: https://dataline.bandcamp.com/album/t... or https://dataline.gumroad.com/l/omzyv This track was made only on the Monomachine, running the official firmware. 3 stereo submixes has been recorded separately into Ableton from the Monomachine extra outputs: Drums, Bass and Synth tracks.I processed the recorded tracks subtly by Ableton native plugins, to get the sound a bit boosted without changing the character and quality.

Enjoy!"

"A quick demo of each keyboard instrument connected to the Roland PA-120 mixer.
The audio is recorded directly from the line out of the mixer.
The reverb comes from the in-built spring reverb in the mixer and the echo/delay comes from the Fulltone Tube Tape Echo connected to the effects loop / echo ins and outs of the mixer.

Patch of The Week: Analogue Kick Drums in Eurorack with the AJH Synth MiniMod Modular Synth System

video upload by AJH Synth Official

"A simple analogue kick drum patch easily recreated in Eurorack, or even some self-contained synths. This isn't modelled on a particular classic or vintage kick sound, but uses a common process for creating such a sound that is easily tweakable to suit your own ears. Check out our past 'Patch of The Week' videos for other percussion sounds, including analog claps, and using a self-oscillating filter to create various claves, rim shots, cowbell, even a rudimentary kick.

Video by DreamsOfWires

PATCH NOTES:
------------------------
Download PDF with diagram - https://kvisit.com/8AE/qvwG
Green dots show approximate pot and switch positions, and where there are 2 dots on the same pot, this indicates the range I adjust them during the video. Pots and switches that do not have green dots are not used in this patch, and should be left at their zero or off positions.
GLIDE + NOISE: I used the white noise in this patch - not all vintage kick drum sounds used a noise source, but it is optional based on personal taste. I find it gives the sound a more similar character to a real kick drum, whereas without it the sound is more distinctly electronic.
VCO: A good kick sound can be generated using just the filter in self-oscillation, but using a dedicated VCO provides greater flexibility, especially when combining with other audio sources, such as white noise. Base pitch and level of Exp CV from the envelope should be experimented with.
VCF: Envelope control of filter frequency will not make much difference to the sound without the white noise, as then you would only be filtering a triangle wave. This is why I've simply copied the envelope that's also opening the VCA.
ENVELOPE: Ideally there needs to be separate envelopes for the VCO and the VCA/VCF, as one is controlling pitch, and the other volume (& tone), which both have a very different impact on the sound. A pair of DH-ADSR's would offer greater dynamic control, as mentioned in the video, but the CONTOUR GENERATORS is fine too.
VCA: The DISCRETE CASCADED VCA allows a little bit of overdrive when input levels are pushed. Even more so when used with the GAIN SWITCH (See our other videos), but also the MUTING MIXER can be used, as it's built around the same VCA circuit and has a built-in overdrive function."

"Fully rebuilt vintage Roland Juno 106. This was custom-restored by Synthspa with a white finish, white lights, glowing white bender, and white buttons. I was told the voice chips have all been replaced with new clones too but have not ever looked inside to verify; I can check on request. The tone is clean and gorgeous and the analog chorus is smooth as butter; it works great. Has an added upgrade circuit of white lights on the side that show which voice chips are currently active (enabled with the toggle switch on right)."

"Here we have Sequential's classic flagship monosynth! A dual oscillator beast with arpeggiator, the Curtis filter, sequencer, and a simple but powerful modulation matrix. The Pro One is well known for its sound and has been used by countless musicians since its release. This particular Pro One is in fantastic cosmetic condition and all functions are 100%.

Recently overhauled by Outlier Audio here in Chicago, works flawlessly! Includes a hardcase, impeccable condition as well, interior foam is fantastic shape."

"A restored version 1 Moog Sonic Six from 1972

Fully functional and fully wierd. :-)

The electronic's were restored By Richard at EPR in 2014 ( see invoice copy ). All parts that were replaced were kept and will ship with the synth.

All the key bushings were replaced by me.

The origianal owner named her "Magus" which you can just see on the cover still.

The version 1 is even more scarce than others ( read the sound on sound article )

One of the rubber feet was replaced ( see photo ) and one of the internal board hold downs was replaced by wood ( perfectly functional .

It's time for new home now that she has turned 50.

There is no better way to describe what this is than this article soundonsound.com/reviews/moog-sonic-6 and the video's on youtube by Marc Doty reverb.com/news/video-the-origin-of-the-portable-synthesizer"

This one is for parts. Pic of the inside below.

"All great sounding preset analogue synths from the 70s, all with aftertouch control of a few parameters, randomly attached voicenames, and fantastic sounds.

This one has the additional quirk of an analogue Flanger & built-in Spring Reverb!

Had a few of these over the years, they sound lovely, probably a bit more aggressive than the Rolands, with a very vocal ARP-y filter.

Good condition, but no output. Just a hum, which doesn't respond to the keys or any of the controls except the Flanger switch. turn that on and you will hear a brief burst of sound. Bought this as is now, was told it was working until one day it didn't. Would suggest checking the power supply first, but seems likely a chips out somewhere along the line."
