video upload by moogfoundation
"Get your SYNTH LEGENDS Limited Edition T-Shirt here: bit.ly/SynthLegendsTshirt
Pre-orders open through August 25th!
Join us live on August 21, 2025 at 8 pm EDT as we present the entire ππΊπ―π΅π© ππ¦π¨π¦π―π₯π΄ symposium from April 19, 2005 - Bob Moog’s final public appearance. This historic event, originally organized by Russ Jones of AudioMIDI, brings together synth pioneers Bob Moog, Tom Oberheim, Dave Smith, and Marcus Ryle, with Roger Linn moderating. For the first time ever, the full 1-hour and 38-minute symposium will be broadcast in its entirety.
Note: the original audio recorded at this 2005 event was only captured on the camera mics and is not studio-perfect. We’ve worked to make audio enhancements, including painstaking audio mastering by Harold LaRue (https://haroldlaruemastering.com), to make this once-in-a-lifetime conversation as clear as possible. We suggest turning on closed captioning in order to not miss any of the content.
During the stream, join Tom Oberheim, Denise Smith (Dave Smith’s widow), Marcus Ryle, and Michelle Moog-Koussa (Bob Moog’s daughter and Executive Director of the Bob Moog Foundation) in the live chat as they share reflections, answer your questions, and provide personal insights into the legacy of Bob Moog and synthesis history.

Roland SH-101 VS My 101-VCF Noise Floor (and What to Do About It)
video upload by gstormelectro
"Audio + Video by G-Storm Electro c. 2025
Today a quick noise floor comparison of the Roland SH-101 versus my 101-VCF under no-input conditions. I've boosted the no-input signal condition by +6dB to emphasize what is happening. And what you can do silence the noise in Eurorack when you don't want it there. I'm hoping that in making this video that it will help discern what is normal behavior to be expected for the modules, and what is not."

"A piece created with Prophet-10, OP-1 field, and guitar. Ambient electronica where scattered guitar notes emerge within quiet synth textures.
The Prophet-10 plays synth pads with reverb applied through blueSky.
On the OP-1 field, synths are performed with tape effects added via GENERATION LOSS MKII.
The guitar is recorded with an NT-4 microphone and further processed with reverb and other effects in the DAW."

120 Minutes to Make a TUNE (Only Launchkey + Klevgrand Plugins Allowed)
video upload by Novation
"We teamed up with @klevgrand to set ourselves a challenge - can our in-house music producers create a track in 2 hours, using only a MIDI keyboard and a limited set of plugins?
Back in early summer, our very own Vini from Novation and Lucas from Klevgrand met for the first time in Berlin and set themselves the ultimate challenge: producing a track from scratch in only two hours. With just a Launchkey Mini 37, Logic Pro, and the full suite of Klevgrand plugins to hand, how did they get on?

Valley Of The Shadows/Origin Unknown (Circuit Tracks Version)
video upload by Guinan
"'We need Jungle I'm afraid'.....this weeks track is the highly influential jungle track 'Valley Of The Shadows' by Origin Unknown released first in 1993."
"Funnily enough I had this CD for years and didn't have a sampler! (I couldn't lay my hands on it for the video but had a copy in my 'archive'). It was a lot of fun to assemble this very simple track from the ingredients and only a small amount of artistic licence was required to fit it into the Tracks.
As you can hear there are no drum machine samples in this...the 'Drum' section is used entirely to play back samples and loops. The samples were edited and time stretched to work in the track at 160Bpm. The arpeggiated section was prepared as 3 samples (2 of which had the extra pitch shifted repeat of the arpeggio).
Synth 1 - single oscillator sine wave with a touch of distortion to fatten it up
Synth 2 - detuned sine waves on 2 oscillators with heavy phaser effects applied.
Drum 2 - '31 seconds' NASA sample from FM Disk 1, 'Long Dark Tunnel' sample from Youtube.
Drum 3 - 'Think' loop from FM CD, with occasional 2nd variation and chopped 2nd half of loop.
Drum 4 - time stretched and pitch shifted arpeggiated loops from FM CD.
Almost entirely based on sounds from a CD free with the first issue of the magazine, Future Music. It also features a sample from a BBC TV documentary about near-death experiences. Countless tracks from the next few years were based on this one CD as bedroom producers hungrily reused the samples creatively.
(I found it here too - enjoy!
https://archive.org/details/the-futur... )
If you've ever heard it, the '31 Seconds' and 'I felt like I was in a long dark tunnel' samples are especially memorable with the deep sub bass.
This was all programmed and played on a single Circuit Tracks. No additional synths or effects were used."

Psychedelic Music on the Antonelli Syntorgan 2445
video upload by Reuben Jones
"I was kindly donated this Italian synth by a family friend and piano tuner who took over a piano repair business from a piano restorer and reverend here in Malta.
It sounds very cheesy and limited, but has quite a nice analogue filter with an LFO (which is either on or off, with no control over speed or amount!). You can route the (para)polyphonic organ through the filter, like on the Farfisa Syntorchestra. The rhythm section has several drum beats which can be mixed together to create more rhythms.

U-He Diva: 60 Dark Noisy Arp Presets. No Talking Sound Demo
video upload by Anton Anru
"π Dark Cycles is a collection of 60 arpeggio presets for the U-He Diva virtual synthesizer.
The soundset is built around the idea of combining a hard, mechanical sound with a more atmospheric vibe due to FM synthesis, modulations, delay, reverb, and other synthesizer capabilities.
π¦ Get these patches: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/p/diva...
π» The bank is inspired by analog sounds, but the goal was to make a more aggressive sound, but still atmospheric.
π½ The bank covers a wide range of timbral colors: lo-fi, atmospheric, hard, detuned, bright, massive, dirty, analog. Perfect for a variety of genres such as techno, breakbeat, EDM, IDM, industrial, and more.
π Each preset is performance-ready, with velocity sensitivity and ModWheel assignments mapped for expressive control. The ModWheel introduces additional modulations - such as brightness or tonal shifts - offering creative flexibility for both studio production and live performance.
π€ The author of the soundset is skendi (Arseniy Pushkov).
π‘ Technical Info – How to Import Presets
Open the Diva plugin.
Go to the Presets tab.
On the left panel, find the User folder.

Digitone 2 Macros: 7 Reasons You Should Use Them
video upload by Sineway
Also see Digitone 2 controlled by Launch Control XL 3 - Full one-take performance
"Are Digitone 2 macros the most underrated feature in the Elektron world?
In this video, I show how you can use the mod wheel macro to create *smooth, relative control* over multiple parameters. The best part? These macros stay consistent across pattern changes, meaning your fader always reflects the actual sound, even across pattern switches.
In this tutorial, I'm using the Launch Control XL 3 (thank you Novation for sending it over!) to map a single fader to several parameters at once - no value jumping, no mess, just clean transitions and full performance control. You can use just about any other midi controller for this to work.
And yes, I know macros aren’t new. Digitone, Syntakt, Digitakt 2 - they all have them too. But let’s be honest - it’s probably the most buried and menu-divey feature there is and most of us either ignored them, forgot they existed, or assumed they’d break everything mid-jam.
Turns out: they’re absolutely brilliant! It’s the first time I’ve added more cables to my setup and felt zero regret.
