"Oxford Synthesiser Company OSCar synthesizer. SN007

Fully Serviced with new battery and cosmetic improvements.

This is an early model with no MIDI but can easily be retrofitted if required. As it has no MIDI it’s more stable as it doesn’t have the piggyback board.

Exceptional oscillators and a unique sound. This is the best monophonic synthesiser and by far the best bass sound I’ve ever come across."

2021/09 DAWless Summer Session - Styleflip

video upload by Stereoping

"I always disliked the dirty, scratched look of my black #MPC1000XL i once bought 2nd hand. In summer 21 i finally found the time to give it a decent styleflip. I planned to make it look a bit like the gorgous #MPC-60. First the original frontpanel was scanned to have a Photohop background. After all outlines and typo were added i gave a faceplate sticker with cutouts into production. Then the case and the acrylic window with it's deep scratches were sanded. The case got a white painting, the window was polished to high gloss. The window did not come out 100% perfect but much better than before. Btw... toothpaste does NOT do the job. Then I made some 3D-prints for nicer Data and Volume knobs, first in fancy transparent blue and red, later dark grey. Not sure which i like more, tending to the red/blue ones. The last step were some woodcheeks - difficult because the 1000 does have strangely formed sides with all kinds of edges and corners.

Featured gear besides the MPC: #OSCar, #JV-1080, #NordDrum2, DIY-MPC-MuteScener"

2021/08 DAWless Summer Session - Dance [w/ Custom 808 Clone in KORG PS Style Case]

video upload by Stereoping

"Another short session with the TriggerMidiRocket running the #Novation #Summit and the #DB9 Deep Bass Nine. #MPC1000 midiclock is sent to the 808-clone and a eurorack midi-cv-clock interface. The clock of this interface is syncing the ER-88 eurorack triggersequencer which finally is triggering the Rocket. Gatelength and Velo changes on the Rocket control Glide & Accent of the DB9 ... surprising everything works so flawless. #OSCar and #ARP2600 are simply midi controlled by the MPC."

"One of the top ten synths ever made, the Oscar is a surprisingly powerful monosynth. Designed by Chris Huggett (of EDP Wasp fame), this has the ability to work as an additive synth as well as a subtractive synth.

It is in good working and cosmetic condition though I can’t verify whether the loading and saving of patches to a cassette works."

OSCAR SYNTHESIZER - FITTING THE TAUNTEK MIDI BOARD AND OPERATING SYSTEM

video by Mindburner

"The OSCar is a fabulous monosynth designed and built by Chris Huggett. My machine had been plagued with issues from day one. A major problem was the highly unreliable start up. The synth would not 'boot' and many power off/on cycles were needed to get it to work.

TAUNTEK have a new MIDI PCB and Operating System with may new features. I hoped this may fix my synth and make it useable aging. Here I detail my install of one of the first version of the Firmware.

The PCB needs to be built but many of the parts are readily found.

More details can be found at TAUNTEK
Special thanks to the folks on the OSCar freelists group.

Video for information only. A qualified synth tech is always recommended for synth repair."

"Oxford Synthesizer Company OSCar 37-Key Analog Monophonic Programmable Synthesiz. Condition is "Seller refurbished".

The OSAar was a synthesizer manufactured by the Oxford Synthesizer Company from 1983 to 1985. It was ahead of its time in several ways and its later versions were among the few mono-synths of its time to have MIDI. Around 2000 were made.

When synthesizer manufacturer Electronic Dream Plant folded in 1982, Chris Huggett went on to form the Oxford Synthesizer Company. The OSCar synthesizer was launched in 1983. Chris Huggett designed the electronics while independent product designer Anthony Harrison-Griffin was responsible for the unique look and build of the OSCar.

1985 VERSION M2 (MIDI) MIDI note receive response much faster than version M1.

Timing clock receive implemented.

Original UK model run on 230 v 50 Hz. Need an AC converter to be used in the USA

Perfect working conditions

Misses 2 top caps wheels knobs controller , 1 store recall push button and 1 sequencer insert button [shown in pictures] but they all work perfectly fine

Perfect esthetic conditions no scratches

Original Manual

Offers below $5,999.00 not accepted"

"Iconic, legendary vintage synthesizer in both optical and technical very good condition! It got overhauled completely a couple of years ago, also the battery was exchanged. Except for oxidized contacts of a few keys it functions properly.

2020/11 - Demosong Rack69

Stereoping

"A reallife studiotest for a prototype i've recently finished, projectname Rack69. The followup video to the breadboarded version from 12/2018 [posted here]

Based on Roland's #TR-606 (plus 808 BD & CB and DR-110 claps) schemes with many mods. 5 ringing noise flavours (#Atmel) for HH & CY, one with a falling pitch envelope retriggered by the CY, demoed around 2:26. The thing is still not fully convincing, the Toms are to clicky and untamed, HH + CY are pushing each other away when played together ...

The tweaking shows much of the bandwidth, some features could not be shown though (e.g. ACC impact or triggerlevel lift in ACC section).

Other instruments used: #TX81Z, #Novation #Summit, #Matrix6 and #OSCar."
