The DiOD Filter is a faithful recreation of the classic Steiner Parker Diode Filter with modern inout and output buffers. This keeps the noise to a minimum while retaining everything that made this filter a classic. The DiOD is a unique sounding and versatile filter in a small 4HP package. From soft and smooth to brutal, noisy and chaotic, the DiOD's flexibility will make it at home in any size system.

This filter will track, but not as tight as the VCOb and it will self-resonate; in fact at the upper reaches of the Resonance it's pretty hard to control.

Compact and quiet enough to chain several together for stereo filtering, adding more poles or creating a very resonant phaser.

"Why is it every time I watch that movie I can't seem to get it out of my head for days? That background atmosphere just seems to bounce around in my skull as if I was in a constant trance. Seemed the only way to get it out of my head was to give it a go with some eurorack modules.

Modules used:

Mi Elements run through a Grendel Formant filter modulated by bubblesound uLFO. E350 Morphing Terrarium run through Korg MKP2s set on tape Echo. Speak & Read run through a ZDSP with Halls of Valhalla cart. The over all pumping sound is a MI Braids with a AD Sequencer 1 controlling pitch. The Sequencer 1 also controls pitch of e350 and the Elements."

Bubblesound to Release Dual Version of the SeM20

Bubblesound is coming out with a dual version of their SEM eurorack module based on the Oberheim SEM filter, "with the resonance section of the MS20 grafted on for extra bite and the input section modified to overdrive the signal, much like on the OSCar." The Dual SeM20 manages to put two of them in a single compact module without sacrificing features or sound.

Bubblesound tells us that the module is slated to arrive as soon as next week.

"Playing with the Ninstrument TENuation module.
Simple patch...
uLFO as master clock and modulation source:
Clock into O|D and sine out into TENuation which feeds Morphing Terrarium Morph Z input.

O|D sends CV to MorphTerr 1v/oct input and gate to Modcan quad Envelope which opens an Oakley VCA being fed by the MorphTerr Z output.
Sine out from uLFO split out to O'Tool so you see non-attenuated signal and variable turns of TENuation module.

Oakley VCA into DubMix with Erbe-Verb on Aux1 giving some delay...I increase Size and Decay towards the end of the shot."
