Feedback on Ursa Major Stargate 323 & Dynacord VRS 23
video upload by Valmont
"Ursa Major Stargate 323 (1983) / Dynacord Vertical Reverberation System 23 (1979) interlinked : each reverb processor feeds into the other, creating a self-generating feedback loop. The strange thing about this patch is that instead of producing a typical howling feedback (like a BBD analog delay might), the reverbs are excited by their intrinsic noise, resonating in modal patterns that lead to the formation of colorful sonic clouds - aka clusters! The Dynacord (in stereo reverb mode) introduces some self-feedback, but not enough to auto-oscillate. Its output goes through the console’s EQ and is partially routed into the Ursa Major. That reverb signal is then returned to the console, EQ’ed again, and partially sent to the VRS via a second aux send. The VRS is also routed to the master bus, which is what we're hearing here.
Tweaking the feedback levels and delay times on the VRS shapes the overall feedback tone. Same with the Ursa - its dry/wet mix, predelay, decay time, and LF/HF decay crossovers all play a role in sculpting the sound.
Altogether, this setup produces evolving tonal textures that are highly sensitive to real-time parameter changes. Kind of reminds me of those cheap 1970s sci-fi soundtracks x)

"Elster from LPZW is an all-in-one cymbal section in 4HP, based on the circuitry and ROMs of the classic 909 drum machine. It provides three different cymbal sounds, including Ride, Crash, and both open and closed Hihats. It contains a number of creative and performance based controls, such as the dedicated Accent CV input, giving you access to the same kind of expression found on the original machine. The Decay slider allows you to dial in the perfect sound for your cymbals, along with the bipolar CV input for extra expression potential. The Pitch slider gives you access to the classic Pitch/Speed sound from modulating the speed of samples, along with the Range switch, which emulates a similar pitch range as the original 909, or expands the range even further for more experimental results.
The Reverse Playback button gives you instant access to reversed version of each cymbal, apart from the Hihat mode, which when engaged allows the REV CV input to become a trigger for the Open Hihat. The LPZW also comes with a Mojo switch, which when active adds subtle drive and coloration to your cymbals, allowing them to sit better in a full mix. If you're looking for a well-rounded cymbal module, the Elster from LPZW provides excellent sound and performance capabilities, all in only 4HP.

The Behringer BM-13 PHASER is your new go-to box of swirling, sweeping, analog goodness. Whether you’re chasing subtle vintage shimmer or deep resonant sweeps, BM-13 delivers timeless phaser tones with powerful controls for shaping the waveform the way you want.
A Control Freak’s Dream
With hands-on control over sweep, resonance, LFO rate and amount, BM-13 is as tweakable as it is musical. Want to slow things down to a hypnotic pulse? Crank that LFO down to a lazy 0.01 Hz. Feeling spicy? Flip it into high gear for warbly, out-there textures at up to 250 Hz. Add a little grit with the Drive knob, fine-tune your output level and explore either 6-stage or 12-stage phasing – each delivering its own flavor dimension and character.
Plug In and Lose Yourself
From funked-out guitar riffs to synth pads that melt into space, BM-13 is built for exploration. Guitarists and bassists will love how it adds motion without washing out your tone, while keyboardists and synth wizards can drench their patches in analog swirl. Even in the studio, it’s a secret weapon – run vocals, drums, or entire mixes through it for instant vibe and warmth. And with stereo output capability, your sound can stretch wide across the stage or mix.
Built to Play Modulation doesn’t stop at the stomp switch. BM-13 comes equipped with expression pedal inputs, giving you full control over key parameters from modular gear or performance pedals. Whether you’re a traditional player or an experimental sound-shaper, the Behringer BM-13 PHASER invites you to dive in and make it your own.

Industrial dark modular synth performance by Stephen McCaul
video upload by Noise Engineering
"Here's an industrial dark modular synth performance by Chief Noisemaker Stephen McCaul.
The bottom case is a six voice case with Incus Iteritas Alia (2), Debel Iteritas Alia, Tymp Legio, Manis Iteritas Alia, Virt Iter Legio + Ampla Legio.
There is a Librae Legio for the percussion submix (paralleling the main mix) and an Electus Versio on a send. The rhythm sequencing is from an experimental prototype that isn't really product worthy.
Pitch sequencing comes from Opp Ned. And the Xer Mixa mixer ties it all together.
The top case is an effects rig for another project but i used a Fala Versio and a Yester Versio in that case for some additional effects.

Tour De France/Kraftwerk - (Circuit Tracks & Rhythm Version)
video upload by Guinan
"I was listening to the 50th Anniversary version of the album, ‘Autobahn’ by Kraftwerk and it occurred to me to have a try at one of their tracks.
By far the most danceable of theirs is the 1983 song ‘Tour De France’ with the 2003 Francois Kevorkian mix the best fit for the Circuit Tracks treatment. It also should be noted that the band were complete cycling fanatics even hosting some of their concerts in velodromes!
With the real Tour De France just about to kick off (5th July in Lille) I couldn’t think of a more suitable track, and I want to dedicate this with love to my cycling-loving father-in-law, Bernard.
Having influenced early 80’s electro music such as Afrika Bambaataa’s ‘Planet Rock’ the influences went in the other direction for this track. Hiring the famous New York electro producer Kevorkian to do the remix made for a fantastic combination. Francois was responsible for many of the greatest New York electro productions and remixes.
(a big shout out too to anyone who's here because they love the broom scene from the movie, 'Breakdance' !)
This era of Kraftwerk was notable in introducing sampling to the normally analogue instrumentation they used. For this reason, I’ve drafted in my Circuit Rhythm again in the same way as my recent version of Robert Mile’s ‘Children’. See here;
• Children/Robert Miles - (Novation Circuits... [posted here]
Everything you hear is coming from just these two machines (Circuit Tracks & Rhythm). The Tracks is programmed with the musical parts and is playing the Rhythm on two tracks. There are in addition some rhythm tracks playing on this machine to thicken out the sound. No other synths were used (apart from the sampled instruments mentioned below) and you’re hearing the straight audio direct out from the machines.
I loved the challenge of putting this together (see below for details!)
I hope you enjoy it too and check in soon for more tunes.

video upload by Starsky Carr
TEO 5 announced here
"The Take 5 and Teo-5 from Sequential and Oberheim make fantastic desktop units. They feel like they were made for this form factor - no compromises, simply great sounding synths in a high quality enclosure. The keyboard versions may have felt lacking in keys (even though they have a great keybed) - just a bit too short for some. I found it was quite handy having one that could fit on my rack! But with these the only decision you have to make is which one is best for you.
Luckily I'm here to confuse you further (they both sound great)! The decision will be whether you prefer the Oberheim or Sequential style of VCO programming, the filters, and the X-Mod/FM. And these just so happen to be the bits I look at in this :)"

Dr. Endo explores LIVEN Evoke: DAWN

DAWN
As light slowly breaks through the darkness of night—
a hopeful morning quietly begins to rise.
I jammed this piece on the LIVEN Evoke, imagining it as a scene from a film.
The drone is built on a cello, layered with a SAW PAD waveform using the Harmonic Wave parameter,
moving gently to support the space with a quiet, understated presence.
Chords are softly played on an oboe, while the violin uses a string ensemble-style waveform pitched one octave down,
adding a grounded presence that stands out quietly in the mix.
The piano plays a repeating phrase sent through GRAIN FX.
The FX is set to fifth-aligned mode, allowing grains to extend up to two octaves above.
These small, rounded grains roll and shimmer through the space—like scattered particles of morning light.

Sort of reminds me of 'Goodbye Horses' by Q Lazzarus. The Synthesizers.com Q173 Gate Math has been very underutilized, so it’s been moved, and this was the first time I used it on the Metasonix D-2000. ALM Pamela’s New Workout is driving the Q173, which is triggering the D-2000. The D-2000 mix output runs through the Intellijel Passive LPG, which is controlled by the MFB dual ADSR, which is driven by Pamela’s. A copy of the Intellijel LPG runs through the Peavey 1300 delay, panned left, with gates reverb from the Alesis MIDIVERB II. The bass drum is from the Birdkids Unicorn Boom, triggered by Pamela’s, and limited by the MXR 136. The high pitched 16th note claves that sound like crickets are from the DSP 808, modulated by the MFB dual ADSR. The snare is from the Roland TR-606, processed by the Ace Tone MP-4 spring reverb. The hi hat is also from the TR-606, processed by a reversed reverb from the MIDIVERB II. The synth line is the Synthetic Sound Labs 1660 audio out through two Zerosum Inertia 6550-99 oscillators through the STG muSonics Vanilla Envelope and the Oakley ADSR/VCA, with additional modulation from the CorSynth C102 VC LFO."

kNoB technology ηCarinae 2 Eurorack VCO Full Review and Demonstration
video upload by kNoB Technology
"kNoB technology presents an updated and improved Eurorack VCO module ηCarinae 2
Our second ray of light during a dark time
The ηCarinae 2 is a fully analog tzfm oscillator (tri-based).
The concept behind the creation of ηCarinae was to develop a generator with multi-level wave shaping and transformation, allowing not only smooth selection of the base waveform but also modification of the waveform itself in order to expand the available timbres.
7-level waveforming= simple form + form shaping + sub osc + "sine+" + FM + selfpatching + Ring mod
5 basic waves (Tri, Sine, Saw, Double saw, Square PWM) and white noise with vactrol LP filter
Wave folding for sine and triangle waves
SAW and Double SAW, both with Smooth saw ramp shaper (Rise to Fall)
Two SUB OSC f/2 + f/4 with CV level control in main mix
Hard and Soft sync
2x LFO modes
SINE+ mode for mixing simple waveforms with a folding sine wave
Pure analog design in every part of the module

Dr. Endo explores LIVEN Evoke: Ashen

Ashen
Today I just jammed with the arpeggiator function on the LIVEN Evoke.
The piano part combines the chord function with the arpeggiator to create a simple loop.
Using the HarmonicWave parameter, I subtly added upper harmonics with a shimmer-like effect that catches nicely in the reverb.
In the middle section, I layered a Peruvian flute to bring some organic texture to the chordal atmosphere, using breathy tones rich in fine noise.
For the low end, I used an electric guitar waveform—slightly wah-like and a bit distorted—adding a unique, wavering texture to the mix.
