The OP-XY Just Blew His Mind

"I get it now.. The Magic of the OP-XY Is in the wild sequencing features it has. Step components, sequenceable punch-in fx, chord transposing, all that and more. So today I'm showing you how I made one of my coolest tracks just trying to learn these features while reading the manual."

【Machine & Performance】Behind the Mask's symbolic Synth Sound with novation mininova
video upload by nicolai maruhama
"This is the demo of mininova.
This time is about the synths sound of Behind the Mask.
I like the LIVE at THEATRE LE PALACE in 1979 of YMO.
It was sensational live for me was at 14 YO.
Akiko Yano's intro sound of OB SEM 8Voice, R. Sakamoto's polymoog and VP-330 sound, still everything have been shining.
At that time, SYNTHESIZER was so expensive but nowadays, even cheap one can sounds gorgeous!! But on the other hands, it's difficult to recreate the Analogue sound. So, I tried recreate the vintage sound with mininova because of this machine has a lot of special function on Oscillators and Filters.
Please Enjoy thanks!

ROLAND S-1 - ONE SYNTH CHALLENGE
video upload by Alba Ecstasy
"3 BANKS / 196 PATCHES for Roland SH-01a 👉https://www.albaecstasy.ro/roland-sh-...
I think (therefore I am!) I never used a synth that much - seven parts! - to make a One Synth Challenge episode!
What can come out of this little box, you won't believe!
And it's only day two since the S-1 arrived!
Each part is programmed (patch & sequence) and recorded one right after each other.
It took me longer to compile all the videos (almost the entire day), than to make and record the actual song!
All you hear is Roland S-1. And of course, drums from the Roland SH-4d. I could make some percussion sounds with the S-1, but I considered the track deserves some really nice drums!
Please keep in mind, if there any audio-video mismatching (especially that last lead that starts at 4:40), is because my very-very old Macbook Pro (11 yo!) can't handle very well 9 video parts and I kind of had to guess the timestamps!
Enjoy!

7/15/23 Wojciech Kilar’s “Requiem Father Kolbe” poorly programmed on Roland/RYK/Lana System 100m
video upload by Cfpp0
"Long! I should have just linked two of RYK’s 185 sequencers to get 16 consecutive stages, but instead I tried to time things out, using the FXD feature on the 185. It didn’t work for actually reproducing Kilar’s composition, but still sounded interesting enough that I added it here to this archive. CV from two 185s was mixed in a 132 and sent to the 112. Over time I lowered the level of one of the 185s in the 132 and that warped the already mangled sequence further. The drone towards the end is an RYK 175 self oscillating and being lightly modulated by a 140. Each 100m voice goes yo a different Effectron II. Copious amounts of CXM 1978."

Prophet 600 twins: Prophet 1200
video upload by Valmont
"I've been wondering about that one, I thought this would make a P10-esque stack, but happens that not really! The problem I had capturing this video is that P600s are phasing out, non stop. It drifts so much that it is impossible to merge them in a coherent mono signal! (Yo, 24 unstable analog VCOs at the same time??) So it's nice on headphones, sweet on largespeakers, but hell on mono devices. Also having twice the same instrument that has this very strong signature makes it not really simple to stack. It is more meaningful to have 2 different ones, like I did here: [previously posted here]
Anyway, it had to be done, and I'm happy to know I don't need a second Prophet 600 x))
Oh and about the question, 'Do two Prophet 600 sound different?', the answer is a bit yes! To my ears, one was brighter and thinner. The other one's VCOs were harder to tune, and it was darker in the way that it didn't bring as much overdrive as the other P600. The thing is that you can't trim the VCA load, so no way to adjust this. Also I have the voicepanning board installed, that I bypassed for this video (All trims to left side), but it may change the sound. I guess all of this is mostly due to different aging of CEMs? Like my friend's one slept for years, and mine is being daily used and taken on stage idk but I prefer mine x) Funny thing tho, they didn't have the same build quality, pots were feeling a slight bit different, and inside there was differences for capacitors used (none had ever been recapped tho), for connectors and power supply too. Early models look less reliable, late ones are safer.

Mystics Vol 1 - DSI Prophet 08 - Patches 33 to 48 (Dry + FX Presets)
video upload by GEOSynths
"Out Now - https://www.geosynths.com/prophet08
Mystics Vol 1 contain 64 New Patches for the venerable DSI Prophet 08. I used to have one years ago and sold it, but had the opportunity recently to pick one up on Ebay, not to make Patches, just...'cause! Even though I have a Prophet Rev 2 and have made 2 Banks for it, there was something about the Prophet 08 that got me hooked on making new Sounds for it....Here they are....Mystics Vol 1.
After extensive testing they are NOT 100% compatible with the Prophet Rev 2, so are not supported.
Of course, there are no FX onboard, however I have previously use 2 Free Plug-Ins (below) and have made 64 FX Presets for each to match up with each Patch. I have also demonstrated the Patches both Dry and with the FX.
1 - Blue Cat Audio Chorus - https://www.bluecataudio.com/Products...
2. Valhalla Supermassive - https://valhalladsp.com/shop/reverb/v...
All you need to do is set up an Insert in your DAW, add the chorus in Slot 1 and in Slot 2, Supermassive. Then just match up the Preset Numbers/Names...That's it, levels are all done!
Here are the next 16 Patches with 1 more Video to come.

Davoli Davolisint

via this auction
You can find a demo of one posted here.
"Dent on the top and some external wear as shown in photos. Very rare and interesting synth. Sorry to let it go but I got bills yo
The Davolisint is a 2 VCO monophonic analog synthesizer with a 3-octave, 37-note (C-C) keyboard, with the bottom octave, colored dark grey, doubling as controller keys. It features a coarse tune slider effecting both oscillators and a fine tune slider for Oscillator 2. Both Oscillators are also controlled by 7 octave switches (32', 16', 8', 4', 2', 1', 1/2') which are very similar to an organ, both in look and function. Any or all switches can be engaged simultaneously. LFO is fixed at a triangle/sine wave and has sliders for frequency and depth. Pitch bend is controlled by a lever labeled "extend". What's strange about this synth is that there is no control over the VCF or the envelope generator, however, there is portamento. The switches can also be accessed by the grey-colored lower octave of the keyboard. Every function is controlled by a different key.
Curiously, there is a 5-pin socket for a pedal on the back. It is unknown what this is for. Also interesting to note, it seems to have been marketed, at least in part, by MXR, whose label is badged on the top."

[Kawai S-100F] 40 yo japanese beauty gets intense cleanup & service
video upload by Synthfluencer
"In this video I show how I cleaned and serviced the Kawai Synthesizer-100F. The 100F is a mono synth from the late 70s. It has one oscillator with sawtooth and square waveform, white noise (that can't be mixed), two envelopes and a LFO speeding up to audio rate, a lowpass and a highpass filter. The lowpass filter can be modulated by LFO, envelope and waveforms that gives pretty unique sound design possibilities.
The unit was very dirty when I purchased it. Almost all faders were banged, resonance didn't work at all. I decided to give it a deep clean-up and a fresh calibration. I didn't want to do a makeover but rather bring back the vintage beauty of this wonderful synth without removing all of its patina.
Background music was made usind the 100F among the Vermona Synthesizer, Yamaha CS-5, Waldorf Streichfett, Behringer Deepmind, Model D & Neutron and Elektron Model:Samples.
See the first review of the synth before cleanup: [posted here] See the 100f in action: [Dr. Who theme posted here]"

Essence Vol 1 - Patches 97 to 128 - Sequential Take 5
video upload by GEOSynths
"Out Now - https://www.geosynths.com/take5
I love this little Synth, it has such a great Sound Engine to it. I wasn't going to bother with it as I've done quite a lot of Patches for Sequential Synths, however I decided it would be worth trying at least and the the next thing I knew, I'd made a load of Sounds!
In Essence vol 1 there is 128 Patches covering Pads and Motion Sounds...Of course, that's what I do best! Also cutting Leads and Bass, Poly and traditional Sounds. The combination of VCO/VCF/Mod Matrix is quite spectacular on the Take 5 and I've been creating textures which I've not heard before on Sequential Synths.
Here are the last 32 demonstrated, hope you enjoy them.

The Completely Incomplete Tanzbar 2 tutorial?
video upload by Cave Way
"Yo! Whats good? Some asked so you all shall receive. Not really a tutorial guy, but regardless here's how I use the TB2. Focus is on minimal house (with a side of funky shuffle). The 'Techno' I make is much more experimental and effect driven... and wouldn't be a good way to show y'all how to use this awesome instrument. If this is useful - let me know I'll make another episode with parts I didn't cover. If you have questions - let me know and I'll include in part 2. Think it sucks? let me know in the comments and we can argue!"

Quiet moments | Ambient Rhodes Mark I Piano and Sequential Prophet 10
video by MIDERA
"Tonight, I told my daughter (3 yo) that she shouldn't keep calling us from her room. She often calls out and when we get to her she makes up something she needs, that isn't a need at all. Like, 'I need you to pick up that stuffed animal.' Although normally it's, "I need you to cover me up." I had already gone up once to help her go to the bathroom, which, surprise, she ended up not needing to do.
When she called a second time, I knew it was to cover her up. So I didn't go. She called out and called out and I knew that going up there would just reinforce the behavior. Eventually, her calls died down and I looked at the monitor, at her just laying down without blankets. So I went to her.
I decided that I guess I just don't really care if she calls me again and again. It gives me a reason to see her just one extra time. I sat next to her, covered her up (which she said "thank you for covering me up," and then hummed her songs (she asked). There's honestly nothing better, nothing more important, in this world than your children, at least - that's how I feel. Hopefully, if you read this and feel any regret - make it up tomorrow."

DIY Analog Synthesizer Demo
video by wuukaa
"🎹 It's my Монофоникс !
This analog synthesizer is my first big project, it still has lots of things yo work on (unstable tune, noise module, MIDI2CV, ...) I made all the PCBs(manufactured by JLCPCB) and the case myself, just have to work on the labelling of each pots, becausee it looks like a kids project lol :)
On this demo I used my trusty power supply to feed the volage in the CV input of the 2 VCO because my MIDI to CV board is reeeally bad (I suck at coding lol). So the gate signal was always on which makes the enveloppes completely useless in this setup but don't worry I'll try to fix that later on!
And if you can help me with the code of the MIDI to CV I'd be really greatful because mine is pure shi* :3"
