Eternal Research Demon Box
Summon the sounds of electromagnetic oddities with Demon Box from Eternal Research, an innovative instrument that condenses the practice of using EMF for audio and control signals in a unified device. At the top surface of the Demon Box's triangular enclosure, a literal platform for audio experimentation awaits. Here, three channels of EMF inductor pickups are arranged in a nested spiral formation, which can be used to create unique tones and control signals by interacting with any object that produces EMF near the inductors. Power tools, FM radios, eBows, tuning forks, and other personal electronics become diverse sources for synthesizing tones, controlling modular synths, and even producing MIDI signals. Turning the inaudible waves of ambient and ubiquitous electro-ephemera into creative signal sources, the Demon Box offers a deep well of musical meaning-making waiting to be discovered.

Brooklyn Synth & Pedal Expo Returns on October 18/19
Details follow:
The Brooklyn Synth & Pedal Expo announces its return on October 18th and 19th, transforming the stylish 6,000-square-foot warehouse at 100 Sutton in Greenpoint into an immersive playground for electronic music creators. Once again presented in partnership with the legendary Three Wave Music, the Expo offers a unique, strictly in-the-headphones experience for attendees to interactively demo the latest synthesizers, effects pedals, and modular gear in a noise-friendly environment.
Nestled in one of Brooklyn's most vibrant musical corridors, the show is expected to draw over 1,500 musicians, producers, and gear enthusiasts. The 2024 Expo expands its programming to include educational workshops alongside its large exhibition floor.
Built for Discovery
This is an event built for discovery, and the headphone format creates a respectful space where you can truly hear the nuances of a boutique pedal or get lost in a massive modular patch without the noise of a typical convention. It's a focused, community-driven experience.

The enigmatic magnetic Demon Box from Eternal Research - #Knobcon 2025
video upload by CatSynth TV
"Alexandra Fierra of Eternal Research presents the Demon Box, an intriguing instrument based on sensing the dynamic changes in electromagnetic fields. Any electromagnetic source (e.g., electronic devices, magnets, etc.) or even inert objects will trigger MIDI and CV changes as well as changes in any audio being passed into the instrument.

12 synths, drum machines, FX & innovations you need to know from Superbooth 2025
video upload by MusicRadar Tech
"For a few years now, Berlin’s Superbooth show has been a focal point for music technology gear announcements, but the 2025 iteration took this to another level. The sheer volume and variety of new music making gear on display in and around the FEZ event space was beyond anything we’ve seen in previous years.
MusicRadar was on the ground to test everything we could get our hands on. As the show drew to a close Managing Editor Si Truss, Reviews Editor Simon Arblaster and Tech Channel Editor Matt Mullen found a quiet corner in the woods to sit down for a roundtable (sans table) discussion about their highlights from the 2025 Superbooth show floor."

NAMM 2025: Eternal Research's Demon Box
video upload by sonicstate
"At NAMM 2025, we caught up with Alexandra from Eternal Research, who introduced the *Demon Box*, an intriguing device that amplifies electromagnetic fields (EMF). Alexandra explained that this invention, developed over a decade with the help of engineers, uncovers fascinating patterns and tones from EMFs, transforming interference into auditory experiences. The device utilizes an array of 33 inductors and features controls for levels and auxiliary inputs, allowing you to blend external signals with those picked up by the inductors. It supports integration with modular systems, exporting in control voltage, MIDI, note and CV data, as well as audio across three mono channels and a unique triphonic channel.
Alexandra also highlighted the device's organic nature, enabling exploration of novel sounds with each use. The Demon Box, currently available for pre-order, has generated significant interest following a successful Kickstarter campaign, with a target retail price of approximately $700."

Martin Hannett choral sound research May 10, 2020
Published on May 10, 2020 SynthMania
"Like many other people, I've been fascinated by the haunting 'synth chorus' in Joy Division songs like 'Decades' and "The Eternal" since I first heard the Closer album in the mid '80s. I started a research on how to attempt at replicating it. Unfortunately, the TEQ eq I used - even if period-correct - doesn't give me the resonance needed to reproduce the sound. I will try to get different EQs / filter banks of the era and experiment with those later. The Marshall Time Modulator settings should be in the ballpark a bit. I used the Quadraverb for convenience, although in the next videos I'd like to mic a real reverberant space."

Best Sequencer and Sampler? LIVE vs OCTATRACK vs RYTM
Published on Mar 11, 2018 Carl Mikael's Cabinet of Curiosities
"The eternal long standing question on what tool is best, most fun and efficient for making music with samples. Is it: the Elektron Octatrack, Ableton Live or Elektron Rytm?
This video concludes my research and leaves some empiricism and data for you to draw your own conclusions.
The method has been to travel to a tropical island to gather found sounds and samples using a Zoom H6. These sounds have been objectively prepared to fit for the three given tools. A common score of 16 bars has been written to be followed when composing for the different instruments. By analyzing the different workflows using the three tools, conclusions has been made for where each one shines.

SR0 Eternal Monolithic "Pandora's Box" Automatic Fractal Numeric Synthesizer and Radio Transmitter
YouTube via VironCybernet.
"Digital sonification of a fractal at millions of samples per second generates an ultrasonic and radio frequency melody that never ends and theoretically will eventually transmit any sound on any frequency from baseband audio to ultrasonic octaves and shortwaves. Discovered in 1981 by the author of this video, and further ongoing research into hundreds of similar simple algorithms were inspired by the millenium digital music copyright controversy. These algorithms can predictively generate by accessing vast intangible supersets of all possible sounds as an original string of binary or decimal data without storing them in any media. SR0 = "Space Radio Zero". Interesting question: What rights could I have to an invention that transmits a practically infinite set of all digital sounds? I assume that this can only be public domain."
