On tape loops, clocks, and sequences | patching Studio No.4 with Francesco Gennari
video upload by Frap Tools
"In his fourth étude, @francescogennarimusic crafts a meditative track by integrating a tape multitracker and a modular synth. The key feature of this patch is the synchronization of the two machines, achieved by using a tape track as a clock for the Usta sequencer, which in turn clocks everything else, from Sapèl to the @empresseffects Zoia."

Crossing Voices – Serge Modular Improvisation
video upload by Maknouchi
"Improvised modular synth performance using Serge Easel system, TKB touch keyboard sequencer, and the Crocodile module. Exploring generative patches, analog textures, ambient noise, and chaotic control voltages.
A short excerpt from a Serge Modular improvisation, where two independent voices are gently crossfaded to sculpt both rhythm and melody.
Through a minimal patch, a balance between structure and spontaneity is explored—organic textures emerge from subtle modulations and interplay.

On Polyrhythms and Poymeters – live patching of Studio No.3 with Francesco Gennari
video upload by Frap Tools
"In today's episode, Francesco Gennari takes us on a true USTA masterclass, using it to weave a texture of four voices and a delay effect. Different pattern lengths and rhythmic structures create a complex and ever-changing harmonic and melodic landscape, but they also control the delay taps, pushing forward the limitations of sequencer-based compositions."

Studio no. 2 on Stereo Dyads | Performance breakdown with Francesco Gennari
video upload by Frap Tools
"In this new episode, @francescogennarimusic plays his new étude for Eurorack synthesizer and breaks it down. It is focused on "stereo dyads", i.e., chords of two notes only that are spaced across the stereo field. In this video, he will guide us through his compositional approach (which begins on the piano) and the techniques he used to bring it all together, which include using filters as oscillators and modulating stomp box effects through the USTA sequencer."

Prophet-6 + MiniFreak = true love
video upload by Good Sunset
"I recently had the incalculable good fortune of getting a very good @SequentialLLC Prophet-6 at a very good price. This is a synth I heard in my dreams. Everything it does is inspiring. It makes me very, very happy.
It joined my @ArturiaOfficial MiniFreak, which I loved profoundly. And still love, though it's inevitably taken a bit of a back seat. But the real question is...how do the two play together? The first of exploration of many to come..."

Black Rain (Sequential Take 5 and Soma Cosmos Performance)
video upload by MKustomAudio
"With the @somasynths Cosmos, it makes it easy to create an ambience perfomance using a single sound source. In this video, the various patches from the@SequentialLLC Take 5 are routed into the Cosmos with some additional reverb provided by the @1010music Bluebox (also recording the audio). Further processing of the captured audio was then applied in the DAW.
For additional visuals, the @SleepyCircuits Hypno was used with assistance from the @empresseffects Zoia Euroburo. The audio signal from the Take 5 and Cosmos outputs were used for modulating certain parameters while the MIDI note value generated when playing the Take 5 changes the color."

A Synthesizer Played by Glacier Melting Waters - M E L T by Ghost In The Loop
video upload by Ghost In The Loop
"The full recording session for M E L T, from my new EP C R Y O S P H E R E, is finally here.
This track holds a special place for me because everything about it was completely unplanned. I initially set out to demonstrate my recording techniques inside a glacier, but what was supposed to be a one-minute demo kept growing, first to two minutes, then four.
As I continued, the recording evolved into what felt like a symphony of ice, with the raw, cinematic power of the glacier resonating through the sound. It’s moments like these that show the beauty of the unexpected in extreme recording environments.
For those curious about the technical side, I used an Interharmonics geophone and an Organic Audio hydrophone, connected to my Empress Effects Zoia, which acted as a pre-amp and envelope follower. The audio signal was split using Big T Music LTD’s Mansoon module as a resonator. I manually adjusted the pitch of the chords in real time, creating a progression based on what I was hearing. This added a layer of challenge to the live one-take recording process—if you watch closely, you’ll catch the moments where everything falls perfectly into place!
For this EP, I’ve partnered with EarthPercent and will be donating 50% of all sales profits to support environmental causes. I’m honored to collaborate with them and make my music part of a greater mission.
You can stream the full EP on your favorite platforms, or support further by purchasing it on Bandcamp (links below).

myVolts Pedal to Pedal TRS Stereo Candycord patch cables
video upload by myVolts
https://myvolts.com/Candycords
"Every cable we design is for a reason, so we thought we'd create a family of Low Profile Stereo Pedal Cables, fitting in with all your needs!🥰
.
Everything from a simple Pedal to Pedal patch cable, to the more complex CV in from modular, ready to simplify your life.
.
.
Great for Chase Bliss Pedals with their TRS in and out, but also a splitter cable that connects to other great Stereo dual Mono cables, like the Earthquaker Devices Avalanche Run or Empress Effects Zoia.
.
We asked our good friend Nadia Struiwigh to pop into us and test drive the cables, the music in this video is what she had created within 15 minutes of sitting down at our yellow desk.
A great result from just a Pocket Operator and few Pedals, what a talented musician she is! 😊 .
To celebrate this launch, we're giving away a free 'Step Up' USB-C power adapter (Red 9V- will power most pedals) with every spend of over $50 on our Candycords.🤸🤸♀️
.
Just use the code MVW38 in any of the myVolts online stores.
.
You'll find the new cables here:

MIDI Messenger by Wrong Instruments
video uploads by Wrong Instruments
MIDI Messenger is free, but they do accept donations. Details follow:
"This plugin came to life as an answer to the lack of utilitarian MIDI processors and DAW functionality on iOS/iPadOS. Not being able to easily send Program Changes (even that!) didn't feel right when I was trying to prepare my new live set with my iPad being the control center of the rig.
It allows creating lists of ‘messages’ that will be sent after being triggered by incoming MIDI messages or system events.
In the newest version we added expression and advanced trigger filtering, so now you can do some really crazy, almost generative stuff."
You can find the latest version here: https://go.wrong.band/dl-mm-appstore
The playlist above covers the following three versions:
1. MIDI Messenger v1 basics tutorial
"In this tutorial we cover some basic stuff sending Program Changes from MIDI Messenger loaded in AUM to Empress ZOIA and Red Panda Particle via CME WIDI module as an example."2. MIDI Messenger — v2 overview
Here's new MIDI Messenger v2!3. MIDI Messenger — v3 overview

00:31 CC example
00:47 Big thing #2: exporting/importing presets
01:00 Minor updates
01:04 New trigger: Program Change
01:08 Passthrough for Transport triggers

01:21 New events at the top of the Log
01:23 Log 'Clear' button
01:27 Responsive UI
01:32 Highlighted selection in long menus
01:39 Outro
"The main two new features are expressions and multiple messages per single trigger. Generative workflows FTW! Improved triggers: you can select multiple channels, and values with the support for ranges and single values. Small neat things: bypassing messages, humanised log with hex/dec modes, and... in-app donations — no need for Patreon account if you want to support us!"

Ambient jam with Novation AFX Station, Vongon Replay, Empress Zoia
video upload by Jay Hosking
"Please support my work on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/jayhosking
A live, semi-improvised synthesizer jam performed entirely on hardware.
I'm on an island taking a bit of time to relax and recharge, and have been spending most of my days doing anything but music: reading, swimming, hiking, and so on. I keep the Novation AFX Station up on the island because it's small and because, well, I have more than one mono synth.
But I think I have to bring this thing home with me. The AFX Station (i.e. the Bass Station II) is just such a remarkable synth, maybe the most underrated synth I can think of. A phenomenal sound with two filters and two drives, it can produce a wider variety of timbres than most mono synths, while also having a fantastic layout for patch design, a pretty unique sequencer/arpeggiator that introduces rhythms, a great portable size, and all the other bells and whistles people love (AFX mode, paraphony, etc.). The only thing I wish it had was a "set sound to panel settings" mode. Otherwise, I am regularly impressed with the AFX Station.
I also brought the Vongon Replay with me because it's quite portable and very immediate in its setup. Yes, I know all its flaws quite well, but a small polysynth that sounds good, has everything I need already on the panel, and has a latchable arpeggiator is quite handy. Once I had a sound on the AFX Station, I played an arp, and the song was basically there.
And for effects on the whole thing, the Empress Zoia came through. I also keep this one on the island because it can be whatever effects I need it to be, and because it's extremely flexible with how you set it up for routing. Here, I've set it to have to mono audio signals coming in, and sending a stereo effected signal out, something that most pedals can't do. Plus, Empress makes great effects, and having their delay and reverb at the same time is awesome.
All in all, a very inspiring setup with great results.
Thanks for listening.
Novation AFX Station - Melody/bass mono synth
Vongon Replay - Latched arpeggio with slow attack
Empress Zoia - Reverb, delay, and special sauce on both synths
Performed and recorded live to a stereo input, with EQ, compression, and limiting on the master.
