"Morphing, mangling and twisting the song from our intro video into something new with the Make Noise Morphagene Eurorack module. CV controls provided by the Harvestman Zorlon Canon MKII and Kermit.

Morphagene, from Make Noise, is not just an upgrade of their iconic Phonogene. It is a whole new way to deal with sampling and audio processing. Recorded audio can be spliced and re-arranged, as well as directionally switched, playing forward and backward. The audio can be Granularized and Layered for thick textures. Sounds can be read off of an SD card or be fed in for live audio processing. This is the ultimate sample mangler.

Make Noise Morphagene Reels (in Six Parts)

Published on Nov 27, 2017 Genshi Media Group

"::| BEST HEARD WITH A GOOD PAIR OF HEADPHONES |::

I thought I'd show an example of the Reels I use in my Make Noise Morphagene module. Each one of the Six reels in this video I Composed and Sound Designed in Ableton Live using a variety of Instruments, VSTs, and Field Recordings. Normally, I would then load these up into my two Radio Music modules and feed those into the Morphagene, but this time, I loaded them directly onto the SD card of the Morphagene.

Though I use to work professionally as a Sound Designer (well technically, I still do... for myself!) I don't think I will sell these or give them away (unless I get a ton of requests) as they are very much tailored to my own "Cinematic Ambient Soundscape" style... I just wanted to show them here, in hopes that it will inspire others to explore deeper; to spend more time crafting what goes into your own Morphagene.

In the video, I play each reel through before I begin manipulating the various parameters (both manually, and with LFOs.) One note: none of these reels have Splice Markers. There is a lot you can still do without Splicing the reels, and I personally don't use the Splice feature all that often (just occasionally.)

Here is the timeline for each part:

REEL ONE - 0:08
REEL TWO - 2:19
REEL THREE - 5:53
REEL FOUR - 7:32
REEL FIVE - 9:51
REEL SIX - 12:26

Final note: there is a touch of Reverb from Mutable Instruments Clouds. #GenshiMorphageneReels"

Modular Workshop - Live @ Analogue Zone Showroom E04

Streamed live on Sep 20, 2017 Analogue Zone Showroom / Synths and Studio

"Modular Workshop - Live from the Showroom

00:00 Live Performance
15:06 Presentation on the Buchla LEM Snoopy & Make NOise René
18:33 Make Noise - MOrphagene sample modulation explained
19:34 4ms - DUal Looping Delay duties explained with feedback demonstration
20:33 Make Noise DPO bassline sequencing explained with the Malekko Varigate 8+ and XAOC Devices - Tirana II plus the Endorphin.es - Terminal
23:11 Mutable Instruments - Rings & Erica Synths - Black Hole DSP introduced
25:24 - Audio Damage ADM14 Boomtschak explained

This week's stream features a world premiere for Buchla lovers: Ramin will demonstrate the unparallelled audio range of the Buchla LEM Snoopy - Buchla's more compact synth voice with its flagship modulation and filtering capacities. You will be put into picture in connection with the convincing Buchla-sound, and he will also talk about what makes its oscillators exceptional both for timbre and tuning when it comes to heavy modulation.

The Make Noise DPO and the Endorphin.es Terminal will be also there to see how two classic Buchla-concepts (the lowpass gate and the complex oscillator) sound in eurorack. The 4ms Company - Dual Looping Delay will process the sounds with its exceptionally fine-tuned feedback.

The Varigate 8+ 2 CV outs will be utilised as well along with the XAOC Devices - Tirana II for extra sequencing duties.

The Hexinverter - Gallilean Moons envelope will be used as one essential ingredient for creating hihat sounds - based on the Malekko - Noise module mostly.

Modular Workshop is a weekly live series from the Analogue Zone Budapest showroom with our experienced modular electronic music performer & friend, Ramin Sayyah. The series was created in order to introduce either one particular module or a very special selection of module-combinations to make various kinds of music with them.

A new episode is streamed live every Wednesday on Analogue Zone's Youtube channel. After a short live performance, Ramin walks us through the building blocks of the patch and answers any questions raised by the viewers.

Tune in every Wednesday afternoon for the show and feel free to ask questions directly during the live stream - also let us know if you want to pay a visit to the showroom during the live show: we can accept a few guests too.

Walker F. feat. Make Noise

Walker F. feat. Make Noise from HerrSchneider on Vimeo.

"Walker Farrell of Make Noise was so kind to host this workshop at Schneidersladen showroom. He introduced the participants to the Shared System, 0-Coast and some new modules like the Morphagene. Inspired mostly by what is called the westcoast philosophy of synthesis Make Noise developed the iconic Maths module some years ago. Maths can be considered as one of the most important modules of the recent years. We would like to thank Walker for this very detailed and competent workshop, sharing interesting stories about the company and their modules and answering all the questions that came up. And we are happy to welcome Make Noise on board for SUPERBOOTH18 in May, again."

An Interview with ERRORINSTRUMENTS' Paul Tas & New Product Announcements

The following is a fascinating look at the man behind ERRORINSTRUMENTS, Paul Tas. Note the questions are not mine, but were sent in with the full interview by inmar lsbtv grtz sleep good.

So how did all start? What was your life before "error instruments"?

- my life before error instruments can be described as a life of an artist in making sculptures and paintings. I was making sculptures from robots, called "the beeb" collection. It is a wooden robot with the concept that in the 50's, we have thought that robots will replace our jobs. However, with the influence of the media, and the medicines we take against emotions, figuratively we can say that we are the robot, and we get programmed by commercials and news. This robot has been a big succes due to the fact that it has been bought by numerous art collectors from different countries such as Japan and the United States. Furthermore, the collections had been sold also at auctions houses Christie's. Later on, I have started to work more in fashion and art and making moveable sculptures with electronics, I made also a traditional Dutch blue sculptures, big horse heads with the intention of giving a controversial thoughts and ideas. Moreover, sculptures about religion, which was a mix between Jesus and the corporate companies in the world with the meaning behind it, that they use the same propaganda to control people's mindset. I was also threatened by religious groups from Germany and Belgium during the time of exposition, not only me, but also the other people in the gallery. This situation has got to a point where i had to go to the court, but in the end I was free to go. Later i have done a project for Damian Hurst and made some installations together with BitMove for the "Love of God" exposition in the "RijksMuseum Amsterdam". As a result, more and more technical and electrical equipments got involved.

When did you have the idea for error instruments and what did the first steps look like?

- First of all, it is important that you know that as a child, i was not able to read, thus it was difficult to go to a normal school, and i have attended a special school, which allowed me to use my creativity, furthermore my writing was always full of mistakes and because in the 80's we used "Commodore 64", and every time i was writing something, a text appeared " Syntax ERROR". Therefore, the kids at my school, gave a nickname to me , called "Error". As a result, i got a fascination about the things that go wrong with machines, such as glitches or accidentally algoritmes and of course the sound of noises. By exploring the art of circuit bending and hardware hacking, i have found out that many people miss this, because the commercial products were created as a mainstream products, with a result for mainstream music. Thus, with the money that i have earned from art, I have started the shop, "ERROR INSTRUMENTS".

Do you have artistic projects beside error instruments?

- Yes, I perform under the name "ERROR EMPIRE", on several festivals. I have also some conceptional sound projects, called "Pink data". The idea of "Pink Data" is that is not controlled by humans, thus all the music is created by accidental algoritmes. I also make sculptures, with acoustic and electronic purposes. Furthermore, I am busy working on the modelar synthesizer and exploring control voltage. design eurorack modules for and special audience

What is the error philosophy?

Make Noise QPAS // Quad Peak Animation System & Stereo Eurorack Filter

Published on Feb 19, 2019 DivKidVideo

"**TIMING INDEX / SECTIONS BELOW** So here's "the ultimate guide to QPAS" ... a mega tutorial, uber overview or any other silly name you'd like to title this with. Silliness aside, the QPAS has been great offering a lot of stereo filter tones with the quad filter cores and simple controls for a wide range of animation. The tone of the filter is hard to pin down as Tony of Make Noise designed the core (rather than cloning an old one) for the filter and the option to saturate the input VCA stage provides further tonal options. I hope this video is useful for currently QPAS owners, potential QPAS owners but more importantly I hope the video serves to demonstrate tchniques and provide ideas for any modules you own. I always try to make these useful for those with or without the module.

I'm still playing around with the various Freesound Reels as I'm enjoying the content there and how powerful and simple the Morphagene is to exploit that audio. Here I'm using Anthony Baldino's reel. I'll have a new track "No Inhalant Body" released based on some of my explorations and wider patching around this video so watch out for that.

MAKE NOISE MORPHAGENE TUTORIAL ~ Eurorack sample module

Published on Apr 21, 2017 once upon a synth

"This is a tutorial of the Make Noise Morphagene eurorack sampler module. First I go over the basic terminology explaining reels, splices, genes and morph. Then we go over the front panel controls and shortcuts. Finally we end with showing how these various controls sound like in practice. The morphagene is a sampler on steroids. It allows you to manipulate samples in very creative ways by dissecting them into smaller chunks and giving you CV and Gate control over all parameters.
