Ratcheteer - Semi-Automatic MIDI Pattern Generator

midierror

"The RATCHETEER generates MIDI note patterns easily, working in sync with Ableton Live's transport with options for numerous time divisions and the ability to be performed using external MIDI controllers.

https://gumroad.com/l/ratcheteer

Assign a MIDI Note to ratchet and choose from 5 types of time division to hear the note re-triggered from a steady pace to rapid fire mayhem. Select an output velocity with fixed, random between a range or LFO controls.

Turn the knob or play your keyboard to play the ratcheteer at different speeds. It'll output expressive MIDI notes which can be recorded as clips and stored in your track.

The Ratcheteer is ideal for Trap Hi Hat petterns, but can be used on any drum or synth hit. It can also be used on multiple channels for entire rhythm track making.

Time divisions include triplets, whole notes, dotted notes, all combined and free (unclocked).

Use the MIDI Map function to change the ratchet using MIDI controller movements, from knobs, faders, mod wheels or pitchbend. You can also automate numerous elements to store within your track.

Send ratcheted MIDI notes to VSTs, Drum Racks or external MIDI Hardware using Ableton's extensive MIDI routings. Say goodbye to meticulous MIDI finessing and start performing hi-octane hi-hat patterns!

Please Note: Ableton Live 10 Suite is required to run this device."

Eltra Unitra Eltronic 109 Synthesizer Overview

Published on Apr 16, 2014 midierror·67 videos

"This Polish-made synthesizer/organ is quite a rare one, especailly in the UK. I cast my beady eye over the functions and features of this rare synth and offer a cash prize for those eagle-eared enough to identify the song I am attempting to perform."

This is the first video of the Eltra posted on the site and only the third post to date.  See the Eltra channel below for the two previous posts.

Casio Casitone MT-205 & CVOCD

Published on Nov 16, 2018 midierror

"Using the external input, its possible to trigger the 8 drum sounds and sequence them using a CVOCD!

This required 4 stereo cables split into 8 mono jacks - and a quick configuration of the CVOCD. Everything is sequenced in Ableton Live!

This actually triggers notes as the note offs are sent in Ableton. I tried some workarounds in Max4Live and with S-Trig to V-Trig cables, but they worked just as well as this method."

Gofundme for TheSynthFreq

Many of you will be familiar with TheSynthFreq from previous posts here on MATRIXSYNTH. MATRIXSYNTH reader midierror wrote in to let us know she has a Gofundme page up for anyone that would like to help her out.

From the Gofundme:

"Most of us in the synthesizer world have at one point or another come across Danielle Morales AKA TheSynthFreq's Youtube channel. It's full of the quirky demos, tips, and music of a woman that obviously loves her synths. What may not be as obvious because she doesn't make it clear in her videos is that she has some fairly serious, life long medical issues. Danielle is deaf-blind, and has been in and out of the hospital many times over the last few years, suffering through strokes that have left her partially paralyzed. Her Facebook feed is a story of endless struggle, yet I have never seen her ask for help or fish for sympathy, she takes it all in stride as best as she can. It is simultaneously heartbreaking and inspiring to watch.

Last night she made a post on Facebook asking for advice on how to sell her gear, because during her most recent ICU stay she needed an emergency intubation... and during that process nearly all of her front teeth, top and bottom, were knocked out, and her insurance is refusing to cover the cost of dental prosthetics. She has described to me the way she looks now with no front teeth as "shocking". This is unacceptable. She absolutely should not have to trade her music for the ability to leave her house without appearing "shocking". I contacted her after seeing her for sale post to ask if she was comfortable with a fundraiser, and she is, so I ask you- my fellow synth nerds across the planet- if you have even a dollar to spare to help this ridiculously strong woman get some sense of normalcy back to her life without losing her music in the process, please help her out. 100% of whatever is collected will go straight to Danielle, I have assigned all financial control of this account to her. Also, if anyone reading this is a dentist/owns a dental lab/ has any relevant connections in the Austin, TX area and would be willing to donate professional services, please feel free to contact us."

Rakit Baby8 sequencer controlling 2 Atari punk consoles!

Published on Mar 8, 2019 midierror

"The Rakit stuff is great, here the Baby8 sequencer is sending its output to two atari punk consoles set to different pitches. I made a little breadboard patchbay which allows the signal to be sent to two destinations for melodic richness and detuned madness.

In this quick vid I'm flicking between each of the atari punk consoles before finally playing them together."

Ratcheteer - Semi-Automatic MIDI Pattern Generator

midierror

"The Ratcheteer is a semi-automatic MIDI pattern generator for performing instead of programming notes. https://gumroad.com/l/ratcheteer

The RATCHETEER is designed to generate hi-hat - or any MIDI note - patterns easily, saving you the time consuming task of making repetitive MIDI edits! It works in sync with Ableton Live's transport with options for numerous time divisions and the ability to be performed using external MIDI controllers. Hurrah!

Assign a MIDI Note to ratchet, set the velocity and choose from 5 types of time division to hear the note re-triggered from a steady pace to rapid fire mayhem. Select from all time divisions combined, triplets, whole notes, dotted notes and free (unclocked).

Turn the knob to make the ratchet faster or slower and set it to 0 to stop all notes. The device will output your MIDI notes which can be recorded as clips and stored in your track.

Use the MIDI Map function to change the ratchet using MIDI controller movements, from knobs, faders, mod wheels or pitchbend. You can also automate it in the track, but why the heck would you do that?!

Send ratcheted MIDI notes to VSTs, Drum Racks or external MIDI Hardware using Ableton's extensive MIDI routings. Say goodbye to meticulous MIDI finessing and start performing hi-octane hi-hat patterns!

This is Version 1.0 and I am going to implement speed changes from MIDI notes, as requested by some users.

Please Note: Ableton Live 10 Suite is required to run this device.

I cannot offer refunds on software downloads, so please ask any questions you have before buying."
