YepYep -CALC- Novation Peak, Circuit and Mono Station, Digitakt, Leploop, TR 808 and SH101

Published on Sep 15, 2017 -CALC-

"All clocked from the TR808- sending sync to the CMS which is passing the clock further down.

Loving the chewy SH101 sound being triggered buy the TR808 to. it plays wonderfully with the rest of the gear too.

This track was born out of putting some new samples into Circuit for a work video (thanks to Lucky Catz for the samples too). Its such a complete set-up I'd be happy with this little lot ever more!
Also massive shout to the Leploop again, it truly is one of my favourite ever devices (needs the MIDI tuning calibrating though).

The middle build up is the Leploop with a wonderful pinging FM tone over the top from PEAK. I kinda went over the top with some reverb from the Big Skies but why not.

CMS is on audio processing duties only on this one with the Circuit and Digitakt passing through a filter sequence and some (sometimes more than some!) distortion. The audio pass through is some serious processing and really can breath life into anything that's a little static.

Finally got to road test my new Dynacord Echocord 100 straight outta Budapest (Thanks Imo!). Its a beast and whilst the tape delay is exactly what I was after, I didn't realise its a killer pre-amp too. The 808 through the drive of this sounds incredible.

I think this set-up is a keeper (although sadly the TR808 isn't..... aaahh One day..... )

Oh yeah I forgot to wear my watch!

Hope you enjoy it

This post just came in after the last one featuring the SEM PRO & SH-101. Funny how that happens. Things just randomly come in and now and then they line up.

ROLAND SYSTEM 100 MODEL 101 + TOM OBERHEIM SEM PRO ~ Will They Pair? Ep.31

Published on Sep 15, 2017 once upon a synth

"Pairing the Roland System 100 Model 101 with the Tom Oberheim SEM Pro. The Roland Model 101 is the keyboard synth part of the System 100 series which was a system of synths made by Roland in the 70s. The Tom Oberheim SEM Pro is a reissue of the classic Synthesizer Expander Module (SEM) which he made in the 70s to expand existing modular synths at the time.

Together these pair quite nicely because they both sound amazing and they're both semi-modular. This means that they both expose patch points so you can access different components like the oscillator and filter.

In this video I take advantage of the external audio input of the Model 101 to add a second oscillator via the SEM. This is easy because the SEM exposes both of its oscillators via the patch panel. So all you have to do is patch the keyboard CV from the model 101 into the CV control of one of the oscillators on the SEM. Then, you simply patch the output of the waveform you want into the external input on the Model 101.

I also go through different types of patching in the video like replacing the envelope generator of the 101 with the SEM's envelope."

Introducing: KOMA Strom Power System

Published on Sep 15, 2017 KOMA Elektronik

"Strom is a strong, reliable and cost effective power solution for the Eurorack modular system. Both Strom and Strom+ modules offer short circuit protection, a replaceable fuse and an ultra low ripple on all rails. The input voltage is 15V DC (we offer a high quality 15V PSU from CINCON in our bundles) and the output to the modules is 1,5A on both +12V and +5V rails and 1,0A on the -12V rail. It can be used with normal busboards and flying busboards.

STROM+ additionally offers our new Current Sensing Technology. It gives the user visual feedback of the current consumption in the case. The status LED’s on each rail will turn orange once the current consumption is approaching it’s maximum load. Once the rail’s maximum load has been reached, or has gone over, the LED will turn red.

One active module can power up multiple skiffs thanks to the Strom Passive Module that distributes the power and can be linked to an active or another passive module with the two link connectors on the front panel of the module."

KOMA STROM MODULE €99,00

KOMA STROM PASSIVE MODULE €29,00

KOMA STROM BUSBOARD €35,00

"KOMA STROM Busboard is a reliable bus board with an elegant black matte design and neon green status LED’s per rail. It includes jumpers for the CV/gate lines as well as the self-adhesive plastic standoffs."

Seqic Chaotic Sequencer - BETA progress!

Like a pinball sequencer.

"Seqic Chaotic Sequencer is a project I've been playing with off and on for the past few years. I've had a version up on a couple sites that was more of a proof of concept than anything. It was simply a single bank of sounds and a limited number of effects. I've added quite a bit in terms of visuals and effects and have reached ten banks per spinner. I'd like to have 99 banks per spinner (which should give an insane amount of possible combinations) when I complete the project so lots of work ahead. The sequencer is certainly not meant to be a serious music creation tool but rather a fun toy to play around and make some really strange noises with. Mostly it's just a glitch machine that makes horribly unlistenable 'music'. The balls randomly traverse the field and trigger random effects. You can add more balls/notes/effects by dragging them from their containers. The program was made with Construct 2 an HTML5 based engine."
