"This second video uses the 2nd post-VCA audio output.
(located in the VCA section).

In addition to an "audio out" this section also has a CV input.

I'm modulating Loop Size, Initial Position, Sample Rate and the VCA in this case with CV.
For this Im using two LFOs (Doepfer A145 & a Pittsburgh VILFO) and a Doepfer Trautonium ribbon controller.
You can jump from manual modulation to cv with the flick of a switch.

"Quick Vid/No Voiceover - MPC3K Master/DSI tempest Slave. Tempest Audio Hard Left. MPC3K Audio Hard Right. If you are listening through a mixer try setting pans to centre to hear the Flam/Phase. First play Sync-Shift MKIII is in bypass so it is like direct Midi Clock connection. Sounds respectable but the 8ms start lag is messing with the bass frequencies to my ears and the groove is a little rough. Second play - Sync-Shift MKIII set to 1 Bar Delay and then fine tune offset with the Rotary. Third Play - Change offset for slave syncopation. Fourth Play - different syncopation again. YouTube Published on May 4, 2012 by RanKirlian

"A brief collection of 3 improvised soundscapes and patches on CSGrain for iPad with my guitar and an Ebow. Don't expect superb playing skills as the guitar is not my main instrument. Also sorry for the ground noise and artifacts, this was recorded on the fly. The audio chain is: guitar to Lexicon Omega to iPad, then processed by csGrain and the audio output goes back to the Omega and this to Sonar on the PC thru the EMU 1820m.

I've included the camcorder mic sound on the last patch (from minute 5:03 to 6:30 ) because I loved the sound generated by the collision of strings with the ebow while vibrating and found it fitting pretty well with the soundscape. I hope you like it."

RIP Ryan Faubion

"In loving memory of Ryan Faubion

Ryan Faubion, the driving force behind the elektron-users forum, has passed away. He was an integral part of the world wide Elektron community, always helpful and responsive. The genuinely friendly atmosphere at elektron-users was to a large extent a direct result of his contributions. He will be deeply missed.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

If you want to leave your condoleances, there's an open thread at Elektron Users."

POLIVOKS VCF CLONE - (DUAL POLIVOKS FILTER, ANALOG STEREO FILTER) - 2 ORIGINAL POLIVOKS VCF'S with 2 LFO GENERATORS, 2 NOISE GENERATORS, 2 CV INPUTS.

Two Polivoks VCF's in one little black box. Extremely aggressive sound, easy to overload, unstable at high Q values, self-oscillating.

The filters circuits is identical to the original design and uses the exact same schematic as the Polivoks synthesizer. The filter-box based on the new old stock soviet integrated circuits, not Western "equivalents".

Manual and voltage-controlled cutoff frequency for each filter, manual control of resonance for each filter. One noise generator for each filter and one LFO for each filter.Low and bandpass mode for each filter.

The signal path is: VCF1 AUDIO OUT to VCF2 AUDIO IN. I played with "Dual Polivoks Filter" LIVE like with the real analog synth in this video!"

In realtime use, I found it very easy to set up 5ths and octaves by ear, and once set, with 4 presets I found no need change the settings, so the optional digital readout is not necessary. But they do occasionally show up on eBay and the connector on this unit (covered by a plastic cover) will allow this unit to accept that option."

Puredata Fake-oramics Waveforms

YouTube Published on May 4, 2012 by SeaweedFactory

"Here's a puredata patch that synthesizes evolving waveforms by maniulating control curves. A wavetable is read by two oscillators at two different rates. Control curves are drawn for the wavetable read rate and the difference between the two rates of speed. The output is stored in another wavetable after being averaged with the two samples surrounding it on each side. The curves can be redrawn while the patch is running to change the harmonic content of the waveform. The waveform is written to a wave file. The sounds in the video were made by speeding that waveform up to about 1% it's original speed.

Multi-sequence #1 (Plogue Bidule + Elektrostudio ODsay VSTi (x3) + Audacity)

YouTube Published on May 3, 2012 by GruithuisenCityMan

"This is not some Cubase stuff or something else of the same kind. This is three virtual sequencers i have built with Plogue Bidule synchro at different tempos and transposing one and each other in a complex manner. The result sounds a bit like algorithmic music though it's not. It sounds a bit like Europe Endless's Kraftwerk too. I deeply do love Kraftwerk's music but that was not at all made on purpose. Anyway, i keep it like that. By the way, i didn't play one single note of that track. Sequencers are my friends and i did just let them play.

Hello ! My name is Frederic Gerchambeau. I have made this movie and this music. The music has been made with Plogue Bidule, the Elektrostudio ODsay VSTi (x3) and Audacity. Enjoy !"

By design, Ciat-Lonbarde instruments are intended for play, as in fun, and their operation is to be joyfully discovered, rather than coldly reasoned out. I like to play, but my brain also likes to figure out. I used the paper circuit diagram, together with the schematic diagrams provided by Peter Blasser, and conducted my own experiments. Quantimator Chordal Improvisation

YouTube Uploaded by skrapadelix on Jan 10, 2012

"The Toppobrillo Quantimator allows a selection of different chord shapes of up to 3 notes to be selected. It works extremely well with Make Noise Pressure Points in that each pad's associated tuned voltages can select both a chord type and a pitch. The 3 quantised pitches are, in this patch, sent to a Doepfer A-110, a TipTop Z3000 Mk II and a Livewire AFG.

The kick sound is the Flame Talking Synth, the 'snare' just NoiseRing noise into a Wasp filter and the bass is from the CycleBox Mk II. Some delay from an old Yamaha analogue echo box is added to the mix..."

This was the night my Phonogene and Rene arrived - I slapped them in my Goike case and started patching away as usual without a clue as to what I was doing - ended up with this evolving patch that sounds like some 60's sic-fi kitsch played by green-skinned alien chicks in a silver bikinis and tinfoil wigs... insane!"

Eurorack Live Salutes Basic Channel - and the Flame Talking Synth

YouTube Uploaded by skrapadelix on Aug 1, 2011

"This was tonight's attempt at a Basic Channel style dub loop.
Believe it or not the bass is just the Flame Talking Synth into an A-105. The metallic offbeat hat sound is the Gamma Wave Source into the ModDemix, kick is the DB99, and the stabs are the Z3000 into the A-113, plus the A-112 into the Sound of Shadows delay. Reverb from the Z5000.
As usual everything is totally live with no additional editing at all - I like the challenge of keeping in real-time and working with a limited set of modules. Eurorack really rocks my world"

Machines Have Souls: Eurorack Goes Minimal

YouTube Uploaded by skrapadelix on Jul 28, 2011

"This Eurorack modular was designed as a homage to Buchla with West Coast experimental weirdness firmly in mind - but something tells me it has other ideas...
Everything you see and hear happened in real-time with no external effects or editing... apologies for the shitty video but you just don't get these crazy moments in Reason, Live - or any software package I've used for that matter.

Just for the record and before I forget it all, sequencing is from the trusty A-155, Brains + PP and a 160/161 combo. The noises at the beginning are the WMD Gamma Wave Source,ModDemix,Sound of Shadows - Wasp Filter with me tweaking the SoS delay time/feedback and the Wasp cutoff. The kick is the Analogue Solutions BD99, the bass is the AFG-Borg 1, the strange pad is a Z3000-A-113-SEM filter + A-121 in parallel configuration. There's a Flame Talking Synth making some crazy background noises... and lastly some reverb from the Z5000.

Anyway, please send me your modular videos, soundcloud etc! Cheers"

Eurorack Live Jam starring the Doepfer A-113
YouTube Uploaded by skrapadelix on Jul 5, 2011

"A live improvisation featuring the Doepfer Subharmonic generator noodling over an AFG and a WMD Gamma Wave Source. Drums are the DB99 and A-117, sequencing from the A-155. The lead melody is a simple sawtooth waveform which feeds the A-113 set to produce 4 sub harmonies - it also drives the transpose function on the A-156. The A-113 effect is subtle but mysterious... I could listen to it all night - and probably will.
Another highly underrated module from our dear friend Dieter Doepfer. Oh yeah, it also makes a fantastic clock divider as well (thanks Goikes for that suggestion)"
