Very Rare.

Was made no more than 1000 pieces Ritm-2 in USSR.

The synthesizer is in good working condition. All keys and controllers work good.

Tone switch from 32', 16', 8' or 4' needs minor adjustments inside synth. 32’ and 4’ are not absolutely exact. Deviations in pitch minor. 16’ and 8’ works perfectly.

On the right lateral panel a white stain. Trace from glued paper label.

Synthpop Svengali Vince Clarke loves Leipzig-S

"KINGSWINFORD, UK: British ‘boutique’ analogue synthesiser and accessory designer/manufacturer Analogue Solutions is proud to announce that legendary synthpop Svengali Vince Clarke — musical mastermind behind one of the most successful songwriting duos of all time — has added a Leipzig-S analogue monosynth/step sequencer to the stunning synth collection currently residing at his NYC-based studio...

Depeche Mode, Yazoo, The Assembly, and Erasure all have two things in common: one, they were founded by Vince Clarke; two, they have all enjoyed catchy Clarke-penned, synth-driven Top Ten hits in the UK and beyond. In a noteworthy career spanning four decades and countless millions of records sold, Clarke has had more hit singles than most of us have had hot dinners, clocking up no fewer than 17 Top Ten entries in the UK with Erasure alone. And let’s not forget five consecutive chart-topping albums — not bad going in the increasingly disposable world of pop, be it synth- driven or otherwise.

Clearly, Clarke knows a thing or two about songwriting, as attested to by being honoured with 2009’s Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection by BASCA (British Academy of Songwriters, Composers, and Authors). Of course, Clarke can comfortably find his way around a fair number of synthesisers, too, as attested to by the well-earned songwriting success-funded collection of analogue classics currently residing at his NYC-based studio, recently relocated from a custom-built cabin in rural Maine to inner-city Brooklyn. But this is no millionaire’s museum piece, but rather a unique personal workspace, where each and every awe-inspiring instrument within regularly earns its keep on a variety of musical projects, with Clarke becoming something of a sought-after remixer of late, as well as collaborating with former Depeche Mode bandmate Martin Gore for the first time in 30-odd years as techno-inspired two-piece VCMG.

Yes, Vince Clarke certainly knows a great-sounding synth when he hears one, which is exactly why an Analogue Solutions Leipzig-S analogue monosynth/step sequencer has made the transatlantic crossing to join him in Brooklyn: 'It’s a real ‘hands-on’ synth — lots of knobs, thick sound, and truly analogue.'

Leipzig-S creator Tom Carpenter echoes Vince Clarke’s considered sentiment, for it is, indeed, truly an analogue affair; both its voice and modulation circuitry are analogue through and through, fashioned from discrete components. No naughty digital LFOs or EGs are allowed here, thank you very much! All its well-spaced, high-quality potentiometers are hardwired directly to the circuitry beyond to ensure all that old-school, carefully-crafted analogue goodness gushes forth for all to hear. And no memories mean that each and every parameter is ‘live’ to the touch, without any unwanted CPU-induced quantisation and stabilisation side-effects — What You See Is What You Hear, in other words!

But that’s not all: a direct descendant of its namesake Leipzig (rack-mount) and Leipzig-k (keyboard) analogue monosynth predecessors, the rack-mountable/desktop Leipzig-S literally goes several steps further by incorporating an inbuilt eight-step analogue sequencer that can be used to produce superficially simple melodic lines, as well as acting as a modulation source to affect the (fat Moog-style) filter cutoff, or to create additional effects — depending on other control settings, with VCO1, VCO2, and the VCF all available as sequencer destinations. Seemingly simple, yet favourably flexible, the step sequencer can be creatively clocked by multiple sources — at audio frequencies (using VCO2 as a clock source), or using the output of the sequencer itself as an audio source to be ‘played’ via MIDI while the eight step controls then alter the ‘waveform’/tonal content, for example, such are the adventurous advantages of amalgamating an analogue step sequencer with a true analogue monosynth! Vince Clarke is, naturally, no stranger to the joys of step sequencing: 'I really like it that the sequencer is hardwired to the oscillators and filter, which makes for instant electro-ness.'

One thing’s for sure: synths are likely to remain Clarke’s calling card for the foreseeable future, an analogue-accepting, sweet-sounding time ahead that’s sure to include Analogue Solutions — analogue by name, analogue by nature. Clarke just can’t get enough... of his Leipzig-S: 'I’ve used it on a couple of EDM tracks I’m working on, creating some big, fat bass sounds; there’s still lots more to explore.'

Leipzig-S is available to order online directly from Analogue Solutions (http://www.analoguesolutions.org.uk/concussor/leipzig.htm) for £749.00 GBP, excluding VAT and delivery, or through one of their dealers. (Alternatively, a keyboard-equipped version — the Leipzig-SK — is available for £1,099.00 GBP.)"

You might remember the pic from this previous post.  This is one is quite a bit larger.

"FAEMI (produced at Sverdlovsk Electro-automatical plant in 1972, later as "Vektor") is a monophonic electronic keyboard intended for the performance of music works of all kinds. It can be used both as a separate solo instrument and in small amateur ensembles.

The keyboard of the device has 3 octaves, from F till E included. The width of the keys and their arrangement correspond to the accordion keyboard. The sound range of the device amounts to 6 octaves, which provides the possibility of reproducing any note of standard equal temperamental pitch from F in the controctave to E in the 4-th octave. The coverage of the range is reached by successive switching on the four main register key switches 5, 6, 7, and 8. Varying combinations of activated switches (one, two, three, or four), and adding to them a supplementary register switch (fourth from the left), it is possible to get 19 sound variants differing in pitch and timbre. It provides a performer with wide opportunities, enabling him to simulate the sounds of some well-known instruments and to form new original timbres immediately in the course of music performance..."

( so that if the filter knob is all the way up and you push the right switch it is even more open, if the filter is all the way down and you raise the left switch the filter is even deeper. If you keep both the switches down it is the same range as a normal 303."

"Vintage Electro Harmonix Sequencer Drum analog sequencer pedal. This is one of the rarest EH pedals from their drum and sequencer series (ie. this is not a guitar pedal). A unique design ideally intended for use with any of the DRM machines, or any other drum/electronic units with triggers. This is a second version V2 model with additional clock controls, and features green graphics for the front letters and numbers on the display panel.

Features an 8-step sequencer, with Trigger In, Clock In (for control by an external source), Clock Out, CV Out, Audio Out plus Clock/Pad slider switch for selecting either Pad control (piezo under leather front strip) or the inputted Clock source. Full working condition, including the pad - although it's probably not quite as sensitive as it would have originally been - and great physical condition as pictured. It is missing one of the colored slider caps, though the slider is still easy to use without it. Please note, this is a hardwired 220VAC unit with European plug attached. There are many compact and low priced step-up transformers around for using this with 110-120V. We also have an EH Clockworks Rhythm Generator/Synthesizer available in our other listings."

"This is a very nice original LinnDrum, very few signs of use. This is the drummachine that defined the 80's and earned it's place in the line of classic music machines! You know what it sounds like.. This one is special because it was professionally modded with some very useful functions:

- Tuning for all instruments. (On a stock Linn you can only tune a few sounds)
- Filter cutoff on Bass kick (analog Curtis VCF)
- Filter cutoff on Toms and Conga's (analog Curtis VCF)

The mods really open up the machine and give you new sounds / drum sets. Regarding the tuning: this is applied only to the instruments which couldn't be tuned before so you can use this AND tune the Snare, Toms or Congas different! :-) Very nice. As with all Linns the transformer hums a bit (not in the audio signal)."

In 2010 synth music lover Katja Ruge started the partyseries "Kann denn Liebe Synthie sein?" " (Can love be Synth?)" together with Frank Ilgener in Hamburg. Soon these events got connected to a photoseries that Katja Ruge did for the leading dance magazine Groove in Germany. The shots of iconic synthesizers such as the Minimoog, Korg ms20, Roland cr-78, Arp Odyssey, Roland tb-303, Roland Jupiter-8, Oscar and the Oberheim ob-8 are already a classic.
Katja Ruge exhibited her photoseries together with 80 analog synthesizers at Kunsthaus Graz with the synthesizerstudio hamburg, did a solo photoexhibition in the Conceptstore Achteinhalb Berlin in 2011 and this year at the SXSW Festival in Austin/Texas.

"Sleeping" - a late night play on the Korg Krome 73

Published on Dec 5, 2012 by MrRidgebackman
"Hi Everyone,

This is my latest Synth, the Korg Krome 73, only arrived today, so first time out of the Box, the manual is still in there and will get read one day. I was going through some of the preset sounds and Combi's and found this little gem. So decided to play around and record it. No other processing used other than compression in Logic. All sounds are default.

Nothing special and a few two note blunders, but you get the idea. From first glance and first impressions of this Workstation. Its a really nice piece of kit for the price.

Thanks to Turramurra Music for doing a great deal on this Korg and my newly acquired Roland Juno Gi.

Hope you enjoy this and the fact I actually wrote rather than typed...watch the vid and you will understand.

Oh Yes the Krome does have Piano sounds.....there are way toooo many vids of this synth showing off the Pianos....As nice as they are and being well played, I want the Synth sounds and there are plenty to choose from and tweak...

For anyone who hates menus (me included), this isn't so bad.

Cheers - Andy
