"A video of me using a a basic user configuation of the Noavation Launchpad to use with Audiomulch and some VST's to do some matrix-mixing and pattern switching. Check out the full review on my blog: http://www.bagger288.com/goldenmaster"
VOSIM synthesis (on nord G2 modular)
YouTube via GoldenMaster288
"This is a short demo with scope image of some VOSIM synthesis, that I did on my g2 modular. I don't think this is the technically accurate version of VOSIM, as I just have continuous "bursts" of pulses going, where in traditional VOSIM there is a delay between bursts. There is also some clicks due to the sync function on the g2 having some sort of jitter I couldn't fully eliminate. Anyhow, I have a full explanation of this VOSIM synthesis on my blog, visit it at:

ROLAND MD-8 DCB TO MIDI

"With the MD-8 you have the ability to convert the Juno/Jupiter’s DCB signal to a 16 channel selectable signal with a midi in, out, and thru jack."

ROLAND JSQ-60 DCB SEQUENCER

"Roland JSQ-60 sequencer for the Juno 60 or Jupiter 8 synthesizers. The JSQ-60 is an amazing sequencer with the ability to store up to a 2,000 note sequence, including patch changes. It even allows for either real-time or step wise recording. It also lets you overdub sequences to layer up full compositions. It has a built in metronome and even a midi/din interface that can sync up to Roland drum machines! With this sequencer, writing songs becomes a simple task as you can record sequences in seconds and then loop them and jam over them or tone tweak to find the perfect sound. The best thing to do is to record a cool sequence and use the Juno-60’s key transpose ability to change the key of the sequence in real time."

ROLAND JUNO-60 DEMO high quality sound ! Vintage analog synthesizer 1982
YouTube via AnalogAudio1
"The Roland Juno-60 is a classic six voice polyphonic analog synthesizer with RAM memories for 56 sounds. The sound architecture is rather basic, but it has an excellent sound and was used by many professionals like Eurythmics, Howard Jones, the Madonna producers, Paul Van Dyk and many more... it has the DCB interface - the predecessor of MIDI. With a DCB to MIDI interface it is very easy to integrate the instrument in a midi setup.
To my ears the JUNO-60 sounds far better than the very similar JUNO-106 (I had both). It has snappier envelopes and a fater chorus. However, sound is a matter of taste..."

Goldbaby The FATJUNO-6 and Fat H3500 Sample Sets

"The Juno-6 was the first in the Juno series of Synthesizers. Released in 1982 it has become a legend for its warm, full sound and lush analog chorus. Intially this synth was going to be part of Fatso Synths Vol 2. However it became obvious early on that this synth, through the UBK Fatso, deserved its own product... I'm proud to present The FatJuno-6!"
Regarding the H3500:
"I have sampled two patches from the H3500 through the UBK Fatso. It was necessary to do 4 round robin layers for each note sampled as the sound changes each time you hit a note. So the result is kind of organic, albeit in a electronic way..."

I asked Frederic what role Audacity played. He replied:
"Better stereo spacialization, add of a slight stereo phasing and reinforcement of the low-end of the spectra."

"Jammin in 63.833cET.
Using a synthesizers.com Q960 and Q962 module for sequencing into the Q172 quantizer aid. Using Li'l Miss Scale Oven (LMSO) to load in the notes into the programmable quantizer and sending note to the Virus TI while playing the Novation ReMOTE 37SL. Recorded in Cubase 4.
Three programmable scales which were portions of the carlos beta 63.833cET tuning set are sending control voltages to the oscillators for pitch data and the selection of voltage is made from the Q960 sequential controller. This is run at a high rate with three echo devices to merge the sequences into a background river of arpeggiated chords. Three rows of sequences (8 steps) each are tapped into with the Q962 sequential switch. The switch is controlled by a pulse out from step 1 of the sequencer into a sample & hold/noise source which delivers a random voltage out to an instrument interface. This interface threshold is set high to only shift the sequential switch every so often randomly. It even caused the sequential switch to step backwards from time to time. First time I've ever seen that.
Li'l Miss Scale Oven can be purchased from X.J.Scott's website at http://www.nonoctave.com
Arrick modular synthesizer systems are available through http://www.synthesizers.com"

Eric Archer Interview on GetLoFi

"EA: I’m not formally trained in electronics; I studied organic chemistry in college. But I was interested in music and electricity before that. As a kid, my folks encouraged me to tinker with electronics. My mom took me to thrift stores and we’d pick out old radios and gizmos for me to take apart. One of my first memories is my mom giving me a clock and a screwdriver when I was four years old. Later on, friends of the family began donating all kinds of old broken stuff for me to mess around with – photocopiers, teletypes, a 1970’s minicomputer…"

KORG PolySix Keyboard Repair

"Yesterday, I finally got around to repairing the keyboard on a friend's PolySix. It had 3 completely dead keys, and a half dozen other keys that had to be pressed pretty hard to get to register.
Via the miracle of Caig CaiKote (no, I'm not affiliated in any way; I've just used it several times and it works well), the keyboard is 100% functional again.
Step 1: Remove keyboard from PolySix:

Step 3: Remove conductive rubber switches from PCB by carefully poking the rubber barbs back thru the PCB:
Step 4: Clean the rubber contacts with alcohol, then apply CaiKote to the black conductive rubber:
Finally, wait a couple hours for the CaiKote to dry, then reassemble.
Step 6: Jam out!"
