Micromoog SN 5224 with CV S-Trigger/V-Trigger Mod & Intonation Knob

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"This is one of the better later models that includes the INTONATION KNOB on the back panel YOU NEED THIS knob if you're giong to use this to control other Moog CV gear - the earlier Micromoogs didn't come with this and the user manual instructs the user to an outboard potentiometer! I had this serviced last year by EARS Analog Lab of NYC. They calibrated it and fixed the filter envelope control knob potentiometer so it's working 100%. They also installed a new power cord. During that shop visit, a small toggle switch was installed at the CV Trigger Output. This toggle switch let's you select between a S-Trigger or a V-Trigger. You use the S-Trigger down position (switch to ground trigger) for other vintage Moog gear and you use the V-Trigger up position to interface with non-Moog gear. I used this to interface with an Arp Little Brother and it worked great as an extra oscillator running back through the Micromoog's filter and envelope generators. The Micrommog is an incredible piece of vintage analog gear, it even has an audio input so you can run audio signals through the legendary Moog filter..."

"Simmons SDS-1 Drum Synth Pad & Huge EPROM Library
Includes 66 SDS Drum EPROMs, for use with Simmons SDS-1, SDS-7, SDS-9

Up for auction is a white vintage Simmons SDS-1 EPROM-based electronic drum pad in working condition, including 66 different Simmons EPROMs that are also compatible with Simmons SDS-7, and SDS-9 drum synths.

The EPROMs included with this auction are reproductions of original Simmons EPROM chips, most of the chips are original Simmons sounds, and is rare to see such an expansive library of Simmons EPROM chips being offered on eBay. I have posted recordings of all of the chips in this auction being performed by the SDS-1 in the link below.

The Simmons SDS-1 is a single voice drum synth that uses 8k or 16k EPROMs. The drum synth can be triggered by hitting the drum pad or via an external trigger input. There is a modulation section on the drum synth that allows you to set the pitch and pitch bend direction, then a separate runtime generator allows you to dial in a random pitch generator that can range from subtle to extreme. Please check out my link below to some MP3s I made with the SDS1 drum synth.

The Simmons SDS EPROM drum pad is confirmed 100% working, ZIF, LED, external trigger, output, and knobs are all functioning properly. All 40 drum sound EPROMs included with this auction have been verified and are also confirmed working. Battery functionality has not been tested, and the unit does include the batter cover that is often missing on these vintage drum synths.

PLEASE READ: The SDS-1 is in very good shape for its age, and there are some minor scratches on the Simmons SDS-1, please see pictures posted with this auction for more detail. A 6v power adapter is included with this auction.

This auction includes a Simmons SDS-1 drum synth, 66 EPROMs in 7 protective EPROM cases with non-conductive foam, and a new 6v power adapter. The Simmons SDS-1 User Manual can be downloaded from the link below."

Yamaha SHS-10 / Cheesecakes

"A little break from the usual. Not in the mood for anything serious, I decided to dig up my beloved Yamaha SHS-10 keytar and make a cheesy synthpop-styled song using its sounds. An internal preset-rhythm from the SHS-10 is used and MIDI-synced to my Alesis SR-18 to give it some additional kick and flavor. Now here's the result, so enjoy and don't take too seriously :)

"The Yamaha SHS-10 from 1987 is a two-operator FM synthesizer and a keytar (a synth that can be held like a guitar). It has a 32-note mini keyboard and 25 preset patches that have a cool and very cheesy lo-fi quality. What's awesome is that this keytar supports MIDI and can thus control external equipment. You can, for example, play the sounds of any MIDI-equipped synth with this or synchronize the preset drum patterns to midi clock."

Sounds & equipment:

All sounds & percussion: Yamaha SHS-10 FM-keytar
Drums: Alesis SR-18 (MIDI-synced to the Yamaha SHS-10)"

Yamaha TX81Z / Frequency Modulated

"What better way to get to know a synthesizer than making a track with it? I decided to get over the insane difficulty of programming the Yamaha TX81Z, my first FM-synth, and dive into its core only to discover a very interesting and deep machine with lots of possibilities. All sounds are self-programmed except the famous lately bass sound and some additional percussion.

"The Yamaha TX81Z is a 4-operator digital FM-synthesizer module from 1987. It is basically a rack mount version of the DX-11, which makes it a cheap and compact source of Yamaha's 4-op FM-sounds. What makes this one interesting is the ability to use waveforms other than just the classic sine wave when programming FM-sounds. A true quality semi-vintage synthesizer for a low price, definitely a keeper!"
