Multi-Track DEMO "Out Of Body" by Rik Marston
**Watch in HD** **Great with Headphones!**

The Roland SR-JV80-04 Vintage Synth expansion board
in action in this Ambient Multi-Track DEMO Song called
"Out Of Body"

Sounds used were some of my custom & Vintage Synth Fav's:
VP-330 Tutti, CS Strings, RiksMoogLead & Rik Solina...
filling this track with vintage late seventies / early eighties vibe.
I still think having this expansion board is a MUST HAVE in any
studio -small or large. I love it love it love it!! A keeper for sure!
Still worth the buy on Ebay if you want to add some Analog & Digital
spice to your old school Roland JV, XP, XV synthesizers
that support SR-JV80 expansion boards!!

Recorded into Ableton Live 9 by hand one track at a time! :)
Small amount of Reverb added to give the dreamy feeling...

Thank you for watching!

Making Of an electronic album (Arcade)

Published on Aug 10, 2016 Tentacles

"In Making Of an electronic album (Arcade) we explain how Arcade was created. We detail not only the gear used but also the composition method and the recording process of the synths, samplers, voices, bass and drums.
We heavily use Elektron gear: Octatrack and Analog Keys, but also a little Casio VL-1 in a few tracks.
We also talk about why we use Creative Commons licenses to promote the copy and sharing of our music.

We released Arcade just 1 month ago, and described the music of the album as "Pixelated music that will make you sail de universe of videogames and science fiction."

Here you can stream and free download Arcade:

Identified with the DoItYourself subculture, we also offer the individual stems of Arcade free download, so everybody can use them as they like in remixes and songs.

Middle Eastern "moog" DIY Synthesizer

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

According to the listing: "1978 Moog Synthesizer, Analog Keyboard, Wood Synth Box, Rare, Retro, Vintage, Antique. One of the first synthesizers Moog company, in good condition, at the level of museums collectibles as well as Collectors... We send the product from Israel in the Middle East."

Not one of the first if it's from 1978. It's likely not from 1978 either. Note what appears to be MIDI jacks on the side. MIDI didn't arrive until 1983. The moog logo is wrong as well of course. I'm guessing this is just someone's DIY project. If anyone knows more about it, let us know.

Update via the comments: "I don't know what standard was being used in Israel at the time but the din jacks could be for audio input and output like those that were used in the ussr (maybe two outputs at different levels?). We really need someone who can read the script. Definitely not moog though."

ARP 2600 Synthesizer & ARP 1613 Sequencer

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"The ARP 2600 is arguably the most desirable analog synthesizer ever produced. Its features and capabilities are too extensive to list here, however there exists a great deal of information available online about the ARP 2600 synthesizer and 1613 sequencer.

This particular ARP 2600 is among the finest anywhere. It has spent its entire life in my home studio and is in amazing condition. It is completely stock, has never been retrofitted, modified or altered in any way, and features the “Moog” model 4012 filter. It was recently serviced by New Old Sounds in Phoenix, and is fully functional. This 2600 has very little wear and plays as good as new.

The ARP 3620 Keyboard is the most advanced 2600 keyboard model. Features include: duo-phonic capability, pitch-bend dial, portamento switch and slide control, a dedicated LFO for very expressive vibrato, latching and other useful features.

This 2600 is in unspoiled condition and has no cosmetic damage or electronic issues. The left channel volume slider knob is missing (but still functional) and, when I was younger, I stuck a JBL sticker on the front of this 2600 even though it doesn’t come with JBL speakers.

User manuals, power cords and patch cables are included.

ARP 1613 Sequencer

Just like my ARP 2600 Synthesizer, this ARP 1613 Sequencer has spent its entire life in my home studio and is in amazing condition. It was also recently serviced by New Old Sounds in Phoenix, and is fully functional. This sequencer is as useful on stage as in the studio. It can be connected to an ARP 2600, ARP Axxe, ARP Odyssey, Roland, Oberheim and Sequential Circuits synths as well as other synths via a CV converter."

"Yamaha synth manufactured in 1974. Single-voiced monophonic synth(no chords). This is extremely rare and the first synthesizer Yamaha manufactured.

Filters and Resonance controls have very unique quality probably due to the hardware's age.

It is in 7/10 physical condition and still works flawlessly. Connect it to a modern DAW and it can sound massive and weird (particularly lower frequency sounds). Signal chain and sounds altered by lever switches (portamento, envelope, pitch, instruments, etc)."

The Rock Drill 4069

Published on Apr 6, 2016 alphabetadragon

"The Rock Drill 4069 is the new synth kit from lushprojects.com. This beginner-friendly kit is touch controlled and makes some of the meanest sounds around. PS - sorry about the clicks - these are some problems with my recorder and aren't true to the real sound."

via this auction

"The Rock Drill 4069 is a touch-driven synthesizer with a unique look and a mean sound. The deceptively simple circuit creates an amazing range of organic sounds in response to the connection between the performer and the touch pads. The project involves no microcontrollers and relies entirely on classical electronics being pushed in to interesting distorted operation for its effects. The sounds produced are a mixture of the expected and controllable and the totally unexpected as the system tips in to chaos. The sound is always raw and menacing.

Inspired by designs like the Electronic Dream Plant Wasp synth the Rock Drill 4069 uses a standard logic chip from the 1980s in a very original and unconventional way. Technically the circuit consists of two interacting oscillators, one audio frequency and one low frequency, driving an distorting amplifier. The touch pads make the player's body part of the circuit and provide many levels of feedback and connection between control voltages and signals in the system. The Rock Drill 4069 is powered by a 3 Volt coin cell and is completely safe in operation."

Eight videos by Yves Usson, the creator of the original MiniBrute which lead to the MicroBrute and now the MatrixBrute. These videos are on Daily Motion so I did not find an easy way to create a playlist for them. You will need to scroll down for each. Don't miss the bottom two videos that demonstrate split mode and split mode sequencing on the MatrixBrute. Split mode with different patches on a mono synth is not something you would expect. Are there any other mono synths with split mode?

Video description: "First test : 3 oscillators sawtooth waveform, successive test of the Lowpass Steiner filter in 12dB then 24dB; of the Lowpass Ladder filter in 12dB then 24dB. I am no musician therefore show leniency for my bad playing and lack of inspiration. This is direct recording (no effect) with a Tascam Portastudio 2488 MkII that I tried to synchronize the best I could with the video."

Using the load-filter to create new sounds

iTunes: Phonem - Wolfgang Palm

"After the huge success of the PPG Phonem VST/AU plugin, we optimized the sound-engine to make it run pretty well on the iPad.

It has also been adapted to make best use of multi-touch and comes with IAA and AU-extension.

PPG Phonem lets the user create expressive vocal synthesis beyond anything ever heard before. With its advanced routing system every aspect of the voice can be controlled and modulated in any conceivable way. Anything from a quiet whisper to a scream. Use the intuitive text to speech tool to make Phonem say whatever you want.

Although the PPG Phonem was originally designed to do just vocal synthesis, it turned out that the system was also capable of producing a wide range of universal synthsizer sounds. So we extended the parameter ranges and made everything accessible to the user, to take advantage of this fact.

▪ Create your own singing style and expressions
▪ Large Phoneme inventory - 46 english/american plus 5 german plus 4 french phonemes
▪ Versatile excitation generator/oscillator
▪ Working with typical voice source or wavetable and time-corrected-samples (TCS)
▪ Extreme time stretching, freezing and reversing
▪ Pitch track - let your robots sing
▪ Control track - let it cry and shout
▪ Song mode - making it easy to compose your synthesized text
▪ Wave page - create your own wavetables and modify time-corrected-samples
▪ Import WTS and TCS files from the iPad WaveGenerator and WaveMapper
▪ All internal parameters available to the user - give your voices a special dialect or individual character
▪ Versatile matrix system - allowing 19 sources to control 40 parameters
▪ Two X/Y control pads freely routable to 40 parameters
