(Matrixbrute CV'd to DFAM): "The Infinity Paradox"
Published on Feb 16, 2019 Kris Lennox
"Matrixbrute acting as controller for the DFAM.... but not only controller. I've taken the master line out from the MB and ran it into the Audio In on the DFAM, which gives a grand total of 7 (!) VCO's to play with (two on the DFAM, three on the MB, plus the two sub-oscs on the MB). What a sound. MB is controlling the pitch on the DFAM, and also gate-triggering each step, with the pitch determined by the chord I'm playing/where the chord degree lies on the arpeggio matrix. There is also some DFAM-DFAM patching.
At the start what you're hearing is just the MB. Great to hear it ran through the Moog filter. Sounds wonderful.
I was originally going to use a Y-splitter out from the DFAM, run one end to the desk, and run the other back into the MB via the external input. The result would have been the equivalent of two mirrors facing each other i.e an infinite loop. It would likely have triggered the apocalypse (or granted levitation ability, but I haven't read the manual in enough detail to be sure), so I kept it 7 VCO's only, rather than 7 multiplied by infinity.
One has to be careful.
PS the chord/harmonic progression is cyclic/infinite, hence the title. The title is also a reference to the apocalypse idea mentioned above.
All best

Minimoog Model D Reissue sequenced with 303-style slides and accents using Silent Way.
Published on Feb 16, 2019 Surface Noises
"I wanted to see if I could use Silent Way to make a Minimoog Reissue sound like a Roland 303 - and then got a bit carried away made it sound very different indeed to the one oscillator Roland classic. I sent gate and pitch CV out of a Motu DC-coupled audio interface using Silent Way then used Reaktor Blocks to send out an accent envelope and drums were on Ableton. Audio from Minimoog is dry with no FX"
ART OF SAMPLING : JJ JECZALIK LIBRARY on a Fairlight CMI
Published on Feb 16, 2019 100 Things I Do
"I started filming this one using the Ensoniq Mirage but I knew if I released this clip in that form all I would get is questions as to why I did not use the Fairlight!
So here it is, playing with some of the sounds from JJ Jeczalik's art of sampling! I used to listen to the Art of Noise records back in the 80's with wonder of how magical and unaffordable the Fairlight CMI was... I never expected to own one!
You can still get the sample set on line and licensed for use if you search around enough."

Voyager (Buchla Music Easel and friends)
Published on Feb 16, 2019 Nicholas Doyle
"I recorded this video over a year ago but just realized it's worth sharing.
A simple piece focusing on the Buchla Music Easel 208/218 combo with some help from a 259, 281, 292, and 266 for a background drone and some outboard reverb.
This started out as an experiment to try some new reverb techniques but turned out super pleasing as a whole.
My system has changed quite a bit since this video. The 208 was a lender and I've since returned it. I've made up for that with a slew of other 200 modules. Hopefully I'll be able to show them off in a video soon."

TORAIZ AS-1 - a Berlin School sequencing style sound demo
Published on Feb 15, 2019 Alba Ecstasy
"👉DSI PATCHES?! 👉 https://www.albaecstasy.ro
A short story of my Dave Smith Instruments experience.
Once upon a time I was searching for a cheap keyboard MIDI controller around $150.
I ended buying DSI Evolver (about $600 at that time). Tremendous sound!
Years later, I’m selling it: pots starts to “fall”.
Enters MoPho: fat, dirty yellow box. Instant buy. Years later, I’m selling it: programming was exhausting.
Some strange experiences with Prophet 6: weak knobs, loose top panel.
Years later, Toraiz is released. Me (not impressed): “meh!”...
2019: my friend Robert ask me if I want to test the Toraiz. Me: “what, that fancy Monotribe?! Haha, no thanks!” He brings it to me. Me: plug cables, play notes. WHAT?!
A week later: me, after intense searches I find a cheap B-stock and I’m ordering it!
Yep. I was so wrong about Toraiz. One of the few synths I judged before testing it.
And this is very wrong. First test, and then speak your opinion.
And in this case, I think TORAIZ is BIG.
Look for one. You won’t regret!
In this video, I choose a random a factory preset and start tweaking it. Programming looks much easier on Toraiz, even it has the same linear menu structure as MoPho, but, I don't know: I find it much easier to dive into its menu.

"Lord Need on the Nord Lead, see what I did there? This was supposed to be a demo of the original Nord Lead in action as a demo for a retro review I've just made for it, but it came out a bit meh so I'll get a better one made before that video goes up. So this was made using all Nord Lead sounds including the drums on it's multi mode with some reverb and delay added in Reaper. Damn good synth, just not in my hands today."
Panoptigon plays Ghost Riders In The Sky w/ Optigan Darksophone Disc
Published on Feb 15, 2019 optigandotcom
"Veteran indie rocker Pall Jenkins provided the spooky sounds for our Optigan Darksophone disc, and we thought it'd be fun to do a quick demo of this disc playing Ghost Riders In The Sky on the Panoptigon. The keyboard is split between two different melodic sounds- Marxophone and Musical Saw. Be sure to listen in stereo, as this one features the typical Optigan hard-panning between the chords/drums on the left and the keyboard on the right. Apart from the Panoptigon's onboard hall reverb, no other effects or EQ were applied."

Fumana - Drum Sequencer - BLCK_NOIR - A-106-6 - Shimmer Reverb
Published on Feb 16, 2019 isvisible isinvisible
"My first quick patch with the Frap Tools 'Fumana', a 16 band 48dB resonant bandpass filter. (16 independent filters... mmmm)
I'm just scanning the individual harmonic bands using the Klee Sequencer, and the Fumana is being fed the saw out from the AFG, which is being sequenced by the Turing Machine to feed some randomness to the Fumana's harmonics.
The ouputs from Fumana are going through a Modcan 'Dual Delay' and a ZVEX 'Instant Lo-Fi Junky'.
The chordy pad type sound is 3 Doepfer 'A-110' oscillators being fed voltages from the Toppobrillo 'Quantimator's' 3 outputs, a bit of movement courtesy of a Cynthia 'Saw Animator and an external Oakley Sound Sytems 'Arp Omni Ensemble' then mixed, filtered through 2 Doepfer A-106-6's and passed through the ZDSP with the 'Shimmer' card installed.
The Erica Synths 'Drum Sequencer' is controling most events, including simple drum patterns into the Endorphin.es 'BLCK_NOIR' which has it's on-board sample and hold controlling the filter.
All in all, a simple patch, but I quite like it, and the Fumana is a killer module that's going to get a lot of use."

I'm using the Roland System 8 in performance mode (split) w/ two patches: Lower part custom bass patch (S8 engine) and upper part modified a plucky pad sound. which I and control filter cutoff / release / and delay + reverb manually. Also sampled extra percussion and effects on the S8 into the MPC. Let me know in the comments if you want a in-depth vid about how I put it all together. Cheers!"

Analogue Solutions Generator Step Sequencer Jam HQ Audio
Published on Feb 15, 2019 rezfilter
"SPEAKERS/HEADPHONES RECOMMENDED!
Here's another live jam with the Analogue Solutions Generator Step Sequencer!
This video features the Generator (!), Nyborg(s) 12/24, Treadstone eurorack synth voice, Telemark synthesizer, and ARP kicks!
Generator is also managing clock for an Oberkorn that is triggering the kick patterns w/ cymbal.
Generator is a very compact and high quality step sequencer. It’s USP is that it is a playable sequencer. You don’t just set up a sequence and leave it looping. The UI is designed in such a way as to make it easy, fun and intuitive to alter the rhythm and to get alternative sequences playing using the real time touch pads.
Generator has plenty of scope for re-patching the signals using CV leads, or via the pre-configured switches.
Generator is super easy to hook up to your analogue synthesisers, Eurorack, and other analogue gear.
Sync to DAW is very easy and solid, using MIDI note 60. Play that note and the sequencer will step.
No menus of multi-button pressed. WYSIWYG front panel control.
Enjoy!"
