One Voice: Moog One Classic Patches (Released with Firmware 1.1.0)

Published on Aug 3, 2019 Getsemani Music

"Moog just released firmware update 1.1.0 which included a link for registered owners to download 51 new patches. Today we are going to demo five of them. Based on the sound and structure of many of the patches, we correctly identified the sound designer for these to be Jamie Morden of GeoSynth. And that's good news for Moog One owners, because he is one of the best. Be sure to follow Jamie and catch his live weekly podcast every Sunday at 1:00 pm EDT (6:00 pm UK.)

The five patches shown in this video are:

Prophet 6 - PolySequencer

Published on Aug 3, 2019 100 Things I Do

"The Prophet 6 is one of those synths, the more you use it the more you find sweet spots and the more you love what it can do.

Today I thought I would play with the PolySequencer. I took a few chords, added some rests then used the rest of the clip to bring flavours in and out.

100% recorded with the Prophet 6 in real time with no external effects besides some limiting and slight EQ at the master stage to keep things sensible :D

Hope you enjoy!"

FelineSynth for iPad

Published on Aug 3, 2019 CatSynth TV

"We explore the FelineSynth, an iPad synthesizer that models cat vocalizations. We also try running it through the Morpheus Z-Plane Filter from Rossum Electro-Music.

Download FelineSynth from the App Store

Find out more about the Morpheus and other modules from Rossum Electro-Music at their website

A cat voice generator that calculates sound wave made by the vibration of cat vocal cords modified by the resonance of the vocal tract in real time. (not playbacks of recorded audio)

It can produce various cat voices (like human talking or whispering).

At a glance, this app may look like a musical instrument with a keyboard.

But it is not for the purpose of playing music.

However, you can play music or beautiful chorus composed of cat voices.

Moving your finger horizontally on the keyboard, cat voice pitch rises and falls.

And moving your finger vertically, cat voice pronunciation changes.

Touch the DEMO 1 button on top-left on the screen, it teaches how to make variation.

Slide the metronome on the left and watch the cat eyes flash.

Toggle through the options of voice tone on the right side of the screen.

Minimoog Voyager - Bach: Cello Suite No 1 - Prelude

Published on Aug 3, 2019 SYNTHWAY
Update: Re-Published on Aug 4, 2019

"Had a bit of practice time today's morning and decided to upload a new version of my previous video, posted yesterday with no training. This one is a better rendition to this magnificent music, and I think the Minimoog can translate some of the magical feeling you get from the cello."

"My third attempt on this beautiful music, with my favorite instrument. It isn't perfect, but shows how beautifully synthesizers can be used as a mean to play classical music. I think I could do it better, but since I won't have much time to practice and perfect it, this is good enough.

The patch is as you can see on the synth, a single oscillator, with the correct envelopes, gentle modulation.

Thank you for watching!"

Buchla Telemetry Walkthrough

"I love creating interconnected sonic layers in the Buchla 200e system. Here is a brief ambient patch that I call Telemetry. I hope you enjoy this walkthrough. The effects used are the 'choral' setting on a Strymon Big Sky."

Sequential Circuits Pro One Synthesizer SN 2073

via this auction

"I have had it for 8 years and I have replaced all key bushings, had the power cable replaced, had the mod wheel replaced, and had the oscillators tuned and calibrated. It's in amazing condition. I have seen several Pro Ones in person and this is the best condition one I have seen. You will not be disappointed. This is the J-Wire keyboard version, but believe me when I tell you, you will still want to do the modern keyboard replacement at some point if you intend to actually play this as an instrument VS CV controlling it. Any spec of dust on the J-Wire will cause double triggering of notes. Just a warning so that you don't think it's defective. ;-) I typically controlled it via CV. I got tired of cleaning that J-Wire and you will too! "

"The sounds this thing can make are out of this world! Really unusual and interesting.

Works perfectly and comes with it's own original flight case and legs (which is good as it's really heavy!)"

TWO for Minilogue XD

Published on Aug 3, 2019 Tim Shoebridge

"TWO for Minilogue XD is a User Oscillator for uploading to a Korg Minilogue XD synthesiser. At its heart is an algorithm which allows the creation of new complex waveforms from two separate base wave shapes. There are sixteen possible waveform combinations in total.

The second of the two base wave shapes can be phase modulated using the Monilogue XD's shape control, which itself can be controlled from the synth's LFO as well as by an envelope generator built into the User Oscillator This EG has various modes allowing it to be looped as well as have its rate controlled by the XD's LFO.

TWO for Minilogue XD generates sound from three detunable digital oscillators. It is available for purchase at my SoundMangling store here:"

Avalon Bassline Synth - Procedure for adjusting enclosure to sit flat

Published on Aug 3, 2019 Abstrakt Instruments

This video also gives you a glimpse of Abstrakt Instruments' workplace - and some of the music they listen to. :)

"Manufacturer recommended procedure for Avalon synth chiropractic adjustment. A bit tongue and cheek but this is how it's done.
The units are tested for flatness as part of QA before shipping but every now & then we get a support inquiry regarding an Avalon synth that is not sitting flat."
