Relax and tune into our live weekly improvised Drone Sessions. This twenty first session involves a drone featuring Buchla style complex and modulation oscillators drifting in and out of tune. There are also other sound elements such as filtered pink noise and bell-like tones. As the oscillator frequencies drift apart by way of manual control, beating ensues. Listening to droning oscillations can serve as mindfulness sounds as there is no sudden changes in sound. Just smooth drifts in pitch and the resulting beat frequencies and other ambient complimentary fragments of sound. Drones can also serve as an ambient track to have on while doing tasks that require intense focus. Drones are also great for a Sci-fi film soundtrack. The slow yet progressive nature of a drone performance can help one focus on tasks without distraction. The fact that we are manipulating these oscillators live and in collaboration helps the drone meander ever so smoothly in an evolving fashion as we are always reacting to one another's subtle movements. These movements are improvised so there is an unrehearsed and reactive ebb and flow to the tones generated. Engage in the practice deep listening with us.

The electronic music instruments used in this performance of modular drone music are the Buchla Music Easel and a cosmic vocal drone setup using two Boss RE-20 Roland Space Echo pedals.

"Brother of the cult Programmer 24. They share the same audio engine and style.

It has a rhythm unit (digital 8bit PCM samples very like the LinnDrum, Oberheim DMX, Sequential Circuits Drumtraks) and an analog synth engine made of: 1 bass sound, 2 "chords" tracks, 1 "solo" track and 1 “organ” track.

It has single outputs for bass and drums. You could also play all sounds via MIDI and MIDI-sync to other drum machines.

This arranger is the perfect machine if you are into Italo Disco/Pop music, it has that specific 80’s sound you won’t find anywhere. It is also pretty rare to find, so don’t sleep on this."

"Plays flawlessly. Everything works as it should. No noises that shouldn't be there. Turn any knob you wish and the corresponding sound is produced pure without flaws. Only issue, as you'll see on 95% of these, is to the cheap wood panels that were used on them, they show signs of wear, but if you have this on a stand, as you should, you have nothing to worry about."

"I don't know if it is just my perception, but I feel in the recent years Italy has become a hotbed of pedal and synth creation. Since I have been send a few outstanding instruments from that beautiful country I thought I would try and bring them all together.

The main rhythm comes from the circuit bent Bontempi System 5 606 [below], which is crushed by the AC Noises AMA reverb/bitcrusher. The Liquid Foam [posted here] synth gets the audio from the AT 606 into its clock in, and acts as an automatic bassline because of that. Hypnotic echoes from the Mastro Valvola add to its spaced out tone, and at some point I switch on the Splinter from Chirality Audio for fuzzyness. The Chirality Audio prototype patchbay "Mesh" routes all audio to where it belongs, finally into the Fostex X28H four track. There the orchestral pads come from, which are recorded from the Bontempi onto a tape loop and played back at half-speed. All recorded with no overdubs into Live as a stereo track."

today I patched WFM oscillator from LA67 and Rebach VCO-A, VCF-A ADSR. I added a traingle wave to FM IN in WFM and pulse waves from WFM to PWM IN in VCO rebach.
as you can see nice nice analog sound when i open more and close the filter.
This is a nice combination for me because the WFM is based on the old 1970 KOBOL oscillator and the rebate VCO based on the AS3340 so it gives a great character,
I tried to subtly add FM and open the filter for a musically working sound."
